The IMAX theater in DC that I am going to solves that problem as the exit is different from the entrance. You enter in the front and exit in the back directly outside. So you never see the crowd from the showing before.

Really? Most people usually go to the washroom directly after.

That would also suck if it was raining.

Wonder how long til Batman is rebooted after TDKR. You think?

Hoping for next year. Fassbender as Batman and Chloe Moretz as Robin.

Anyone else think the snippet of Anne in the maid outfit jumping out of the window looks like cg? Maybe it isn't but it's really bugging me.

There is no spoil, just a bet.
Is there anybody who make the link between what Bane is telling in the trailers and what are the aims of the LOS?

ACTUAL FUCKING SPOILERS:
An official bio released awhile ago confirmed Bane used to be a part of LOS, but broke off.

Ooooh, which one was that? Is it one of the two at the National Mall there?

Hey, that's pretty much the exact layout of my local imax. Its the only real one in my city, but seats are still available for the 7/20 evening 8pm showing, and not just the eye-bleeder front row seats. It's strange, I thought TDKR IMAX showings would sell out much faster, but we're less than 2 weeks away and that's not the case.

Row K, dead center. Best seats in the house.

Might have been posted already, but here's one for the idiots who think this won't do as well as TDK because it doesn't have the Heath situation...
Hollywood was abuzz Monday over the strength of tracking for Warner Bros.' The Dark Knight Rises, which hits theaters in two weeks on July 20.

Box-office observers widely believe that Dark Knight Rises will outperform the $158.4 million opening of The Dark Knight on the same weekend in 2008, then the biggest three-day debut of all time at the domestic box office.

Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight remains the top opener of all time in terms of a 2D pic. A pair of 3D films -- May release The Avengers and last year's Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 -- claim No. 1 and No. 2 spots with $207.4 million and $169.2 million, respectively.

Overall tracking numbers for Dark Knight Rises aren't that far behind Avengers, but the Christian Bale starrer won't enjoy the boost from the upcharge for a 3D ticket. To boot, Dark Knight Rises runs 164 minutes -- 21 more than Avengers and 12 more than Dark Knight.

Which imax theaters do reserve seating?

Sadly the theatre here in Austin at the Bob Bullock museum does not. :( We're going to dash over after work.. hopefully be there about 100 minutes early so that we can get a decent seat. At least it was only $15 per ticket after all the fees.. not too shabby.

I shouldn't have said DC as I meant the DC area. It's the Airbus IMAX in Chantilly near Dulles Airport. I don't know about the other two.

And as for the other question about bathrooms, there are bathrooms next to the hallway on the way out. Since the movie is 3 hours, people will definitely need to use it after.

How do you check? I just grabbed my IMAX tickets for a show on fandango.

If an IMAX theatre has reserved seating, it will make you select your seats when you go to buy them.. you'll see a diagram like the one posted above in Dany's post. It's akin to buying an airplane seat and using the select your seat option.

Hopefully all of them.

The first rows are really hard to watch.
Can't believe some theaters still allow the mad dash and "reserved this whole row for my friends"

Sadly no theaters in NYC that I know of do that. I bought tickets minutes after they went on sale but if I don't show up 3 hours in advance I will be stuck in the first few rows.

And unfortunately I will be one of those dudes who has to tell everyone SORRY THIS WHOLE ROW IS RESERVED!

What is a Whedon Batman like?
Okay, fine: It was a while ago, between the day-glo Joel Schumacher sequels and the Chris Nolan reboot (which Whedon loves, don't get him wrong.) There was a lot more, in Whedon's take, about the orphaned Bruce Wayne as a morbid, death-obsessed kid. There was a scene—Whedon used to well up, just thinking about it—where young Bruce tries to protect this girl from being bullied in an alley, an alley like the one his parents were murdered in.

"And he's like this tiny 12-year-old who's about to get the shit kicked out of him. And then it cuts to Wayne Manor, and Alfred is running like something terrible has happened, and he finds Bruce, and he's back from the fight, and he's completely fine. And Bruce is like, 'I stopped them. I can stop them.' That was the moment for me. When he goes 'Oh, wait a minute; I can actually do something about this.' The moment he gets that purpose, instead of just sort of being overwhelmed by the grief of his parents' death."

I don't expect that DKR will beat DK's box office numbers. It's certainly not out of the realm of possibility.

You never know. I never expected TDK to do as well as it did even with all the hype it had going for it. In fact Iron Man did so well I wasn't even sure it would beat that total.

That being said I predict it does better WW than TDK did (its opening in more markets plus Batman is more popular now than it was then) but it might not match the domestic total of TDK.

You know while I will be in line for 3 hours or so to watch this thing I sure am going to ask them why they don't do assigned seating.

My immediate guess is because its far easier to sell out a show if each seat has the same value. Gives everyone equal chance to get the best seats.

For assigned seating, do ticket prices vary?
