You need smarter friends.

I went with a group of about 15 people, and not a single person was sober (half were high, half were drunk) and we all got it just fine.

most of the friends were girls. cant expect girls to follow along too well.

I am and I'm proud of it too! Fuck all these people with their silly tellys. I don't want to see Maggie Gyllenhal's moustache!

What's fantastic about The Dark Knight is it appeals to such a massive audience but isn't condescending. However, I think that it sacrifices some sophistication and direction to do that, hence why I'm wary about Oscar hopes.

Personally, I fell in love with NCFOM after my second viewing; I was wondering what the fuck I'd just watched the first time.

But this is THE DARK KNIGHT THREAD. Apologies. I'll be back with more minor criticisms soon.

Yea. The movie features some rather stupid, generic comic book morality, especially the end, aka Dent died for our sins. The movie rocks but seriously, Bale giving a moral monologue using the Batman Voice was beyond comical

When you purchase The Dark Knight for blu-ray and get the digital copy, will that work for the iPod Touch? If so. :D

I think so -- I got it yesterday and it says something about downloading it to iTunes, which implies that it'll work.

(I haven't actually tried it because I don't have my computer handy, and I'm worried it's a one-shot download)

They sided on cartoony because a realistically scarred Dent would churn people's stomachs.
But the bat-radar cell phone bullshit churned my stomach

batpod collecter's ed
Why the fuck add in some cheap toy that fits nowhere with the rest of my blu-rays nor matches anyother collector's ed ALIEN, matrix etc.

Aside from Ledger, TDK doesn't have a single stand-out actor, they just all really work well together. So whatever Best Ensemble is, I hope TDK deserves at least a nomination.

Whoa now, I thought Aaron Eckhart's performance was severely underrated.

All of the main characters are fantastic actors.

They're just so good that they don't really get recognized anymore because it's common sense that they'll be great. :lol

Ledger's acting surpasses everybody else in the movie because of the character he's playing. He could easily have played a different character just as well and it wouldn't have been as big of of a deal.

Aaron Eckhart's Harvey? Yes, definitely. Aaron Eckhart's Tw0-Face. No, definitely not. Something was lost in both the writing and acting once the transformation occured.

I pre-ordered the DVD version even though I have a PS3 and really wanted TDK as my first Blu-Ray movie. Perhaps I'll receive it as a Christmas present or something. :D I still buy DVDs only because so many people I know borrow the movies I buy and they don't have Blu-Ray. Dammit, I might just have to change my order now that I'm thinking about it.

I'm not trying to downplay them, I thought all of the performances were great. But my point was that because Ledger is an almost guaranteed Oscar nominee--and nobody else really stands out as a lead actor--then the rest of the cast would be overshadowed. Like Eckhart or Gary Oldman, who I thought were both excellent but would no way in hell have a shot at an Oscar for supporting actor.

That's why I like the idea of Best Ensemble, for whatever awards it's for, because it's recognition for the whole cast.

Think was posted before and over in the HD movie thread, but figured post here as well.

"My WB Commentary," which allows users with a webcam to record their own video commentary that can be shared online with others. The track will play as a picture-in-picture track while your friends watch the film.

Other features include "My Community Screening," which facilitates real-time multiple viewing of the film via BD-Live. Users can chat during playback, connect to community showings our send out invitations for their own screenings.
Curious which GAFfer will be the first with a video commentary for the movie. :lol

If you can spare a minute, think back on the greatest work of cinema that you have ever seen. Did you think about The Dark Knight? No? Then you are a moron. Because while you were out doing whatever it is morons do...demolition derbies or...croquet, (we wouldn't know, we loved The Dark Knight), The Dark Knight pimp-slapped Andy Dufresne, spat in the Godfather's face and gave Charles Foster Kane a big ol' wedgie on its way to becoming the greatest movie of all time.

All this in spite of the bat suit causing our hero to grumble like the offspring of Tom Waits and Cookie Monster. There is nothing at all silly about that. We here at RiffTrax regret even having to point out that he sounds like your Great Aunt Vivian sending you out for her third pack of Pall Malls of the day. Because The Dark Knight is not just a superhero movie. It's a gritty crime drama about political corruption and the choices men make that just happens to involve a superhero. A superhero millionaire that dresses as a bat whose voice sounds like your cat heaving up a hairball into your slippers who battles a guy with half a face named Two-Face.

Despite all this, Mike, Kevin and Bill are ready to take on...(reverent pause)...The Greatest Movie of All Time.*

Weren't you the same guy that said that The Dark Knight couldn't be the best film of the year since Quantum Of Solace was coming up?

It seems that ever since Quantum came out and sucked ass, you've been really harsh towards The Dark Knight.

Hell even Eric Roberts was good.

So was William Fichtner.
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001209/

Which STILL makes me think that he'll show up again in the series. He's a damn good actor and has been the lead role in a few great movies.

Besides... the Joker didn't kill him, and Fichtner's character is the only person in the entire movie that consumes Joker's gas. Combine that with the fact that his character was the only person in the bank to take charge and fight back; and you've got a person practically begging to be a new villain.

i wonder if this will be available for download after it's finished? like the user-created commentaries are supposed to be.

They'll have typed out transcripts thats for sure. Here is Guillermo Del Toro's BD Live transcript.
