jett said:I'm not sure that's in the actual movie.
Yea, it was all done in one take, given how the scene played out.:lolSkiptastic said:Actually, if you watched the Joker after he jumps in the bus as many times as I have, I think that is inside the bus footage from the part where the hospital blows up and the bus drives away. I watched the Joker after he jumps in there, and it looks exactly like the movements that he makes in that little gif there. The whole straightening his hair thing.
So it's not actually shown like that in the movie, but it looks to be just a different angle on the same shot that is in the movie.

Nolan: Oh well, at least it's not as bad as the day I had to wear a t-shirt.SpeedingUptoStop said:Nolan: Great cut, guys! Really fantastic stuff!
Cameraman: Uh....Mr. Nolan
Nolan: Yes?
Cameraman: There's no film in the camera.
Nolan:...
Oh god fucking damnit.

Solo said:I think the fact that a lot of camps think TDK is a legitimate contender really goes to show more than anything how bad 2008 has been for film overall. 2007 (and 2006 even moreso, which is probably my favorite year in film of the decade) crapped all over 2008.
jett said:Thanks for letting us know, once again, how you didn't like TDK all that much.
Now STFU already.
Solo said:Thanks once again for making shit up. Check my history in this very thread, and youll see that I loved the movie. Its flaws just stick out a bit more now that we've had 6 months to process it.
Anyways, all Im saying is does anyone honestly believe it would be getting this kind of buzz against TWBB and NCFOM last year? Not a chance.

Blader5489 said:Yeah, it probably would. It has a better chance of winning this year than last, but I'd say in either year, TDK is a likely Best Picture candidate.
jett said:Here's the attitude I get from you in this thread:
"I like the movie, but I wish I didn't!"
Solo said:What would it have knocked out? Michael Clayton, maybe.
BrandNew said:Oh jett fuck you. Solo is probably one of the few here at GAF who's movie opinions I actually trust. He's completely entitled to say what he thinks. This place is sort of disgusting when all it is is a fapfest to the movie.
Solo said:Anyways, all Im saying is does anyone honestly believe it would be getting this kind of buzz against TWBB and NCFOM last year? Not a chance.
methodman said:Wait, you still haven't seen the movie? Why would you need to trust someone else's opinion. :lol
Blader5489 said:Well this is just my own opinion, but I thought Juno and Michael Clayton were terrible, so either one of them could (and imo, should) be knocked out by TDK had the movie been released last year.
SpeedingUptoStop said:Jett, chill out.
People don't think TDK should get a nom or an award, that's cool by me. I can argue for the movie all day if someone wanted to, but people got their opinions and they're not flaunting them like they're the definitive shit, so I won't try to do that with mine.
That said, even if I didn't like The Dark Knight, wouldn't it be a little smart for the academy to throw it up there? I personally don't see how atleast one major nod is out of the question. The academy status/ratings have been dipping low the past few years iirc. This is probably going to be the biggest movie of the decade (Avatar potentially excluded, Scullibundo!), a Titanic hit. It's not like it's transformers, it's a critically well received film. I just don't really see how it doesn't get nominated, unless the Academy is more interested in a slow suicide.
Solo said:Where did he say he didnt see the movie?
methodman said:I definitely trust your opinion about Movies, but when I've seen the movie, I'm able to form my own opinion about it, that's all I was saying.
TBH, a lot of us (including myself) seem to do it just because it's funny. There are times when the line is overstepped though...Prime crotch said:Now I know why people complained about GAF and Begins. I loved TDK but damn, the love around here is borderline fanatic.
Third -- and inferior -- movie in the Nolan Batman trilogy to win Best Picture, confirmed?Solo said:The Academy is still so stuffy though. Im still shocked that they "let" ROTK win Best Picture at the 2004 show.
Solo said:Gotcha. For the record, I think its a horrible idea for people to blindly take any word I say, as flattering/ego-boosting as that is for me :lol See the movie in question, form your own opinions.

Nolan will get an Oscar 30 years from now for a remake of a film he didn't even watch.Solo said:Pretty much :lol

Buckethead said:Yeah, me too. But even though I love Batman Begins and also The Dark Knight....
The Batman movies aren't even half the overall quality and complexity as that of the Lord of the Rings films. From top to bottom those movies were impeccable. While I commend TDK for it's achievements and Ledger is nothing short of one of the best villains ever, LOTR was not just a great adaptation and storytelling but an amazing achievement for film.
I mean you can't really compare them in many ways. One's a (fabulous) comic book adaptation and one is a much more complex moral, cultural, and theological epic.
hey hey now.. you can throw mud at TDK all you want.. but leave my LOTR trilogy alone! That best picture was for the whole trilogy and for Ian not getting best supporting actor!!!Solo said:The Academy is still so stuffy though. Im still shocked that they "let" ROTK win Best Picture at the 2004 show.
