The Dark Knight SPOILER THREAD

Someone asked how did they get away with the PG-13 rating instead of R, because it's so intense. The answer was something along the lines of "We knew it had to be PG-13 like Batman Begins. It is intense which is why it is PG-13 instead of PG. We took great care to not shoot explicit gore". Every other question has been "who came up with this, who came up with that".

It has had to reconnect three times. This is pretty lame I have to say. Interesting facts, but since I know someone will be transcribing this, it might be worthwhile just to read it later.

Seems I wasn't the only one not expecting what feels like a pre-recorded a/s/l chat with inane questions like "did the dogs really bite him?" This is missable. I'm out.

Trying to cap this in SD, the text box is very small. The words are still very legible, but you have to pay attention, like reading a novel with small print.

No. The dogs didn't really bite him.

It can't be pre-recorded since one of the questions was just "Is this chat really live?" To which c_nolan responded: "Yes." Brilliant.

If anyone can't do the screening tonight, and can let me log in to their profile I'd appreciate it. Not doing anything tonight, and sitting here unable to view it and with nothing to do, since I just bought the blu-ray once I got home from school break.

"Was Hans Zimmer's music a big reason for you wanting to do another Batman movie?"

<Nolan> Thanks for the question, Hans

:lol

People, do not ask "yes" or "no" questions, at least the stupid ones.

"Was it challenging writing the script?"

Oh dear god.

This is why I want a proper commentary!!!

It keeps cutting out for me. It reconnects quickly enough, but I still miss a question. And I'm online with my laptop so I know my router is OK. I don't know if it's Warner or the PS3. I assume Warner, since I download huge Rock Band albums just fine.

[edit] Ah, excellent. They're acknowledging it's their issue.

wtf...

I want to be a filmmaker,do you find it easier to Shook? :lol

I don't think some of these people have even bothered to watch the extras on the blu-ray :lol

Are you your own worst critic?
Nolan : No,Rex reed has that honor :lol

"why was there a joker card in the judge's papers?"

Not only did some not watch the special features, they didn't finish the movie.

From a poster at SHH!:

Q: I love the sky hook what made you come up with the idea?
A: We were looking for a surprising end to the action scene. And one that would suggest Bruce Wayne's ability to access international resources.

Q: Were the building interiors shot in Hong Kong?
A: The building interiors were shot in London. Other than the lobby of the building, which was shot in Hong Kong.

Q: How awesome was it to be the first director of a Batman movie to feature a hero that could finally turn his head?
A: It was very exciting to see Batman finally turn his head. This was the end result of years of research.

The car chase was the most technically challenging; his favorite was the interrogation scene between Bats/Joker.

On the grand scale of the film: It is difficult balancing so many characters. the key thing is to not lose focus on the forward momentum of the narrative

Q: Are you your own worst critic?
A: No, Rex Reed has that honor. (LOL good one Nolan)

The ending scene is Nolan's favorite, and was pleased at how it turned out.

Q: Did the joker use a real video camera for the video tape?
A: Yes. The video was shot by Heath using a camcorder.

Q: Do you have a favorite Batman story from the comics?
A: Year One and Long Halloween.

Q: How do you feel about the casting rumors for the third film?
A: it is always amazing to see how much interest and enthusiasm there is for these characters. that's the reason we are able to make these films on such a grand scale.

Q: How was it working with Sen. Leahy?
A: It was a lot of fun working with Senator Leahy. He was a very gracious performer.

Q: Where did you get your inspiration for the assassination sequences? Where the judge and comissioner were killed?
A: The assassination sequences, I think now that I look at them, finished are very influenced by the Godfather films.

haha I knew Nolan would need a piss break :lol
