The DUAL SHOCK 2 will work with the PS3 right?

The PS3 is backwards compatible, I'd assume in more ways than one (not just the games) much as the PS2 could handle PSX mem cards and controllers.

Furthermore, it seems that there is no new "addition" to the PS3 controller in terms of actual gameplay other than "wireless."

Cus yeah, I'm not digging the design and it looks painful.

Oh yeah, and weren't they using the DUAL SHOCK 2 during the Sony Conference?

All the hardware is BC compatible with games...supposedly. No mention of BC for hardware and unless the USB adapters will work then no.

It *should* work, assuming either:

1) You can use one of those PS2->USB adapters sold at Radio Shack or wherever.
or
2) Sony/3rd party sells a USB-native DS2.
or
3) Sony/3rd party sells a wireless Bluetooth DS2.
or
4) Sony manages to incorporate a couple PS2 ports into the final console design.

Hopefully Sony expounds on that later.

Sony's controllers have always had poor reliability for me.

My PSone's circle button got jammed.

My PS2's analog mode has been turning itself off lately. Seems the cord near the connector is damaged because if I move it around it'll turn the analog light off and on.

I hope this doesn't continue with PS3. I may get a third party brand for a replacement for now.
