Will that UI only work with Keyboard and Mouse or also with 360 pad (the way the game was meant to be played) ?INDIGO_CYCLOPS said:It's nice to see that the UI modders are already starting to tinker...

Very interesting. If we can see something like the later Oblivion UI mods that would be fantastic.INDIGO_CYCLOP said:The UI was built with ActionScript/Flash, uses GFX/SWF/AS files, so it seems like peoplSe will really be able to tweak it to hell and back which is comforting. The head UI guy has been answering some questions and will probably be more vocal after they release the creation kit.
You only get 2 hotkeys. 2 hotkeys! Completely unplayable.INDIGO_CYCLOP said:Is the game really that much better with a pad? Guess I should try it out later.

LiquidMetal14 said:I had it in the OP yesterday but more people need to read about it. If you look back to posts from me last night, I confirmed this to help my performance!
AEREC said:Love that shot...how did you get that perspective?
I have pet rabbits and was bothered by seeing rabbits hanging from hooks all over Skyrim. I realize people eat rabbits, no problem with that here. I just find it distracting and distasteful to see a half dozen rabbits or more hanging from most of the ceilings in the game.

Eh, looks pretty terrible in motion.isoku said:Add under display in skyrim.ini:

Edit:
fSunShadowUpdateTime=1.000
fSunUpdateThreshold=0.500
If you still want your shadows moving in increments.Nvm these are the default settings.

TheKurgan said:Overall I am pretty happy with the way the games looks and my tweaks. I am getting good framerates but they have a huge range usually between 50-80, but with spikes up to 100+. I am also getting some screen tearing. Any solutions/suggestions?
Go to C:\Users\[USERNAME]\Documents\My Games\Skyrim
Open SkyrimPrefs.ini, and search for [General] section
Add fdefaultfov=XX at the end of the section. (where XX is the FOV value you want to change to). For example add fdefaultfov=90
Open Skyrim.ini, and search for [Display] section
Add fDefaultWorldFOV=XX (where XX is the FOV value you put in fdefaultfov)
Add fDefault1stPersonFOV=xx.0000 (where XX is the FOV value you put in fdefaultfov)

Trojita said:Are you guys sure the FOV is 65 by default? I just tested it out and when putting in FOV 75 and then putting in FOV into the console (Which restores your FOV to the games default) they were the same. It might potentially be variable as well.
pilonv1 said:Yep, it's the main problem I have. Same with any decent sized town really. I've given up trying to fix it, I'm just accepting that it's poorly optimised now.
I placed mine in SKyrimPrefs.ini and it helped but he's the author so he's gotta be right. I just put SkyrimPrefs in the OP because I put i there and I noticed improvement.isoku said:He said to place it in skyrim.ini though. Does it make a difference?
ctw0e said:This may be a bit off-topic but, does anyone know how I can get the ObjectID for a certain item?
I have the item and I can click on it while in the console but that only gives me the reference-ID, not the ObjectID.
Or do I have to wait for the GECK?

I set it to 75 and it most certainly zoomed out a little. 1920x1080.Zefah said:It's definitely higher than 65. Start a new game and type fov 65 and it will zoom in. I think it's around 70 or 75 by default.

I made the .exe large address aware, but the game won't launch from steam. Is it possible to fix that?

So if I have these specs, should I even bother getting the PC version? All these mods are making me salivate. I know the minimum specs are a little below this, but so was Deus Ex and that ran pretty bad in the hubs at points.
