lol my reaction too. Doesn't seem like this person knows what he/she is talking about.
Also i can't tell if ViewtifulJC is trolling at the moment or not.
Uncharted was one of my favorite new IP of last generation and I was highly anticipating it. It hurts MY brain that out of everything I critiqued you point out the one that isn't really debatable.
You have runners, stalkers (who are barely different from runners), clickers, and bloaters (of which there are what... three encounters with them?). And then you have melee and ranged humans. And one deer.
If the game was half the length it wouldn't be an issue, but over the course of 20 hrs the enemy encounters became less and less exciting. Good level/encounter design might have mixed things up a bit, but those situations were rare, outside of Ellie's chapter. But that whole chapter had it's own issues anyway. But alas, I don't want to derail the thread any further. So... Back to TEW haha.
At the beginning of the year if you told me i was going to buy this , Alien isolation & Middle Earth i would have called you a crazy person. Now i have all these games pre ordered.

I haven't played RE4, but I have played TLoU, which is a recent gaming using the same mechanics. Mentioning RE4 really only highlights that the mechanics are rehashes, but if that works for some people that's good for them.
There is nothing wrong with the mechanics, however, after experiencing them I don't feel they are selling points for me.
I didn't know that, and it doesn't necessarily change the point.
I don't disagree with you... in fact, I found TLoU to be an overrated experience that ended up being mostly the glorification of torturing women. Don't confuse me with its fanatics.
It runs at 30 on consoles, no info on PC.Never doubted this game. Nope not one bit. Love me survival horror. Now which version PC or ps4. Do we know if the current gen is running at 60 since it's idtech5?
Well, it's true that we can't be sure about how Slasher will feel about the game when he plays it, but the factual claims made by JC about Slasher's post history regarding this game are plain for anyone to see.
.
I don't hide those facts either. Though to claim I'm already proclaiming it my GOTY or that I'll have rose tinted glasses when playing it is a bit absurd. I did say it probably will be my GOTY but why wouldn't I assume that is a possiblilty as I love horror games? It's this, Alien, or 1 or 2 other games most likely that I've already played that will be candidates for my GOTY.

I'm struggling to remember ANY part of TLoU that involved "torturing women," let alone glorifying it. Slasher expects to have his faith vindicated, and I don't blame him. Everything about this game looks extremely promising. To be honest, I don't expect much of the gaming press to "get it," since it looks punishing but doesn't have "Souls" in the title, so I foresee the tough nature of the game taking many by surprise and knocking down the scores. We'll see.

If I was claiming it WAS going to be the best game ever, or THE best game this year, or that BEST Mikami game ever made. I could see some of the worry about my judgement. Yes I posted those "I told you so" gifs and if it turns out damn good it will be true. It's also in good fun. Regardless of that though, I am coming at this fairly level headed. Even if I LOVE the game, there will be no doubt flaws and I will point them out. I don't think any game is damn near perfect, and I usually try to cover those in my video reviews. Yes I'm excited, yes I'm pumped, it's been years since we got a Mikami horror game, how could I NOT be? But I'm not giving it a free pass in the slightest even if my hype for it appears to be. Nor am I going to quell my interest and excitment on a forum simple because people think I'm going to think it's the best game ever. I think people are having a hard time seeing the difference. I'm not blind to issues nor do I turn the other cheek.

And you, Sir, have been in all TEW threads, more or less trying to derail them or discredit an individuals excitement for the game.
you're actually serious aren't you? Wow. I weep for you, cause you missed the point in grand fashion. blame yourself (or god) for thinking TLOU was an action platformer or RPG where enemy variety on any other scale would make or break the product.
Not watching this, got the game on pre-order, see you guys in the OT.
I'm not impressed by this trailer, Evil Within seems visually the same as it has been shown in the past, and I don't believe there's justification for the quoted 4GB video memory recommendation based on what I've seen. I believe the PC version of EW will be a disappointment and it will also be outsold by Alien Isolation for PC.
Why do people even care so much? It's just a bit of fun for game we're excited about, made by a guy who is known for making quality games. Either it will be great and we'll all be happy about it, or it will disappoint and we'll get over it. It's not a big deal.
Also, there's more to games than graphics and sales.

Elements of gameplay are never irrelevant when discussing a video game. Just because TLOU is aiming to tell a realistic grounded tale doesn't mean it is immune from criticism about having weak gameplay.
Yes. There's also a guy narrating your every move.
I dunno, looks a bit ropey.
I still need convincing.
You're a week early, but it's still close!I'm expecting this to be Resident Evil 4-good. Releasedate kinda snuck up on me too, can't believe it's out next week already!
Long, strong, and fibrous. What does ropey mean? This cult leader must know!
