Final Fantasy 14's newest expansion "Dawntrail" comes out on July 2, 2024 and the benchmark has just been made available so that you can see how it runs on your PC. This time around the new expansion will bring some graphical upgrades as well.

Grab it while it's hot: https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/benchmark/
Let's see compare scores and see how it runs on everyone's computers!

I'll start - I get 12.2k at native 4K maximum on my 10700k/3090 setup:

Tested on: 4/14/2024 8:53:08
Score: 12220
Average Frame Rate: 85.32076
Minimum Frame Rate: 54
Performance: Very High-Easily capable of running the game. Should perform exceptionally well, even at higher resolutions.

Scene #2 2.236 sec
Scene #3 2.397 sec
Scene #4 2.657 sec
Scene #5 1.24 sec

The graphical upgrade has taken my score from 17.5k in the endwalker benchmark to 12.2k here, so it's definitely a little more demanding than before.
What scores are y'all getting?

I haven't played in a while, but I might have a look at the new addon.
My specs: 4090 and 13700K, 32GB DDR5 RAM. Settings are DLSS and maximum. Perhaps you can get another couple of FPS by switching from FSR to DLSS?

Just for fun I ran the benchmark at native 8K on my rtx 3090:

edit: I tried 8K with DLSS too and it makes a big difference:

DLSS makes 8K playable for me (literally double the performance). I'm sure it could do even more heavy lifting on a 40 series card with frame gen on DLSS 3.5.

My 27inch Intel iMac (i9 10900, 10 core, Radeon Pro 5500 XT) handles this greatly, over 10K score with "High". Yet SE says they would only support Apple Silicon Macs.

I know you can bootcamp Windows, but it is ridiculous that SE would not officially support any Intel Macs.

Downloading the demo now, but why does the results screen say FSR next to your res if it was ran at native?
EDIT: I guess it just puts whatever dynamic res version you pick, just keeps it disabled.
Also here is mine.

I'm not really seeing a whole lot which justifies the framerate drop from Endwalker benchmark to Dawntrail benchmark.

From what I can see, a few things in FFXVI have been back-ported to FFXIV like contact-hardening shadows and screen-space reflections. Nothing really fancy was added, which makes sense since the game still targets PS5 as the base console. I would have liked to have seen RT added for the PC players, the game's engine is plenty old enough that modern GPU's would have had no issues with RT in this game.

I haven't found any way to completely disable DLSS besides keep the framerate above 30 fps but that's not super hard for any semi-modern GPU on this extremely old engine which spends most of it's time CPU limited in any scenario where there's a lot on the screen like most MMO's.

Wow. Not too bad considering how old the game is. There's still some spots in the environment detail of the new areas that could have been handled even with the old engine like the waterfalls and certain rock formations, but there's a certain added ambiance with all of the new graphics. Character creation looks great too.

If you want to disable DLSS then just select FSR but keep the resolution scale on 100% and turn off dynamic resolution.

For some reason when you select DLSS then it greys out the resolution slider and DLSS is on either always, under 60fps, or under 30 fps but can’t be turned completely off.

Seems like Tekken 8 was similar iirc. If wish they would just add an option that says “off” or “native” since it’s a bit confusing at first how it works.

I'm on a older system at 1080p sadly , still runs good enough though at max settings.
Wasn't sure I was going to jump back in but hype got me. Completely changed my character for this expansion, female Midlander to male Roegadyn Sea Wolf.
