Fuck OLED, that stand is the biggest selling point for me. I love table top mode.

EDIT: say it ain't so, they're not using a shitty plastic gloss coating are they? The type that picks up hairline scratches like there's no tomorrow? This shit is barely even tolerable on home consoles, it really sucks on a portable.

I thought this time the screen is glass not plastic and it's glued directly to the oled, that might explain the super glossy shine.

I believe this isn't a plastic-substrate OLED screen they are using though so generally the outer layer would be glass in that case and maybe not a good idea to put a plastic layer above the glass since that might reduce light transmission.

I don't know as much about smaller sized OLED panels though so I could be way off.

Yeah if it's glass I'm cool with that. But if it's glossy plastic like they had on PS3 / OG PS4, Wii U etc, that will really suck. Even if you're really careful and clean it with a micro fiber cloth it still picks up hairline scratches, and if it's not that, it's fingerprint heaven. I thought with OG Switch, XBSX and PS5 (mostly) companies have gotten the message - no one wants gloss.

Jeez yeah, we got a preowned Wii U when the BotW came out and it looked like someone had gone over the gamepad with some sandpaper, the screen looked so blurry as well but I'm guessing thats for other reasons and it was only scratched to hell.

Anyways cool, looks pretty. If I played mine mostly handheld I'd probably get one.

It's only $50 for a better screen, bigger screen, better audio, double the memory and better kickstand.

It looks like used Switch consoles are going for between $225 and $250 on eBay. If I could get that much for mine I might spring for this new model.
 
No question an amazing system but Nintendo has to figure out their next line of systems at least to compete with PS5 and Xbox because it's always late and will continue to be late.

I traded my OG for a lite with the satisfye grip and have no desire for this oled model.

The original switch (and by extension this one, as they're basically the same dimensions) is just too heavy and cumbersome to be a decent handheld for me. And I don't like the creaky connection for the joycons, feels like a failure point.

I've never played my switch as much as I have since I got the lite, it's just far more comfortable and playable. It's a joy to use.

Now a Lite with a bigger OLED screen, that I would be interested in…

You literally didn't justify it's value, you sound like Nintendo's butt plug. The OLED should've at least have specs equal to Steam Deck. If you disagree then you're a clown......and Nintendo's butt plug

That was partly why i downgraded to the lite as well, but after about a year i realized i do miss playing on the tv from time to time. But i do *mostly* play the switch in handheld mode hence being content with the lite for long as i was.
 
When you have this system for this much and a steam deck for close price yet 3 times more powerful and call still emulate the Switch with better performance ... lol fuck Nintendo .

With that being said I have one preordered lol
