This is a series that's not easy to watch, but if you stick with it you're rewarded with such a great tense drama.
Next season looks to be turning the crazy up to 11.

That's what I tried to tell my friends. You have to slog through episode one to get over the animation. Once you go that you are rewarded with a great show.

It has a very slow pace, a weird ass ending theme, and an extremely funky kinda bad art style. Not too surprising most people drop it before it gets really good.

Somewhere near my favorite series ever. God damn I want part two. I don't think I want to read the manga, regardless of how close they're sticking to it - I'd rather wait for the rest of this masterpiece.
This show is extraordinary. A work of art. Many times I overlooked this thread. I was interested but had too many other shows to watch and I wasn't completely sold on the premise. The humorous thread title kept catching my eye. What caught my eye even more was the mention of rotoscoping. I actually really enjoy rotoscoping. Im a fan of Richard Linklater and loved his use of rotoscoping in Waking Life and A Scanner Darkly.
I decided to give the first episode a shot not really knowing what to expect. About three minutes in I knew this would be something special. The music, the atmosphere, the artwork, the direction. Superb. The show would become even better than I would ever imagine it could be and may be one of my all time favorites. This is why I watch anime.

Watched the whole show last night and tonight. It was absolutely mesmerizing. The ending was nutttttttts. I assume all that stuff was kind of a preview of what's to come?
But seriously, what a show. There were points where it could be a typical romantic comedy if they had comical reactions to everything, but yet the tone was completly off.
Put me in the mind of something like Twin Peaks, where everything was seemingly normal, but there was just something off.
And the ED gave me the chills every time.

Really? Half of the completed manga in 13 episodes could equal room for the other half of the manga in another 13 episodes, no? Will this show be going into the 50's or something?
note I have no idea how anime works or why series are 26 episodes most of the time
