chances are at least one thing i've accepted from the thread will end up back here in three or four weeks if it doesn't pan out for me. and i have tons of other stuff i'm willing to give away, if only i didn't have twenty packages to send already this week.

Whoever posted first in the thread probably. Personally don't think people PM'ing behind everyone's backs deserve the games, don't know how he'll feel about it.

Yeah, and while I'm not going to say anything to folks who already got dibs on the stuff I gave away, I think it'd be in the interest of the spirit of the whole thing if people wouldn't hog too much. Especially for those who might not be posting anything--not that that matters too much to me, but... you know... there it is.

No, it's just how I feel about it. As far as we know, there might be some people PM'ing for nearly every item out there, and in that case, some people might not realize they're snatching everything up. People should be upfront and request games in the thread. Didn't mean to accuse anyone.

I awarded 2 of my things to PMs, but I think I'd rather have all the requests in the thread for good measure.

I really wish I had some stuff to give away right now but it's nice to see that people are getting things that they want instead of just taking for the heck of it.

I don't think so, he's just voicing what I think most people think should be a defacto rule: dibs should be called in-thread, not privately over PMs.

That way, we know when something has been called, and can all share in the... for lack of a better phrase ...celebration of it. Half the fun here isn't getting things ourselves, but seeing such a positive example of how awesome the neogaf community. When someone calls dibs, everyone laughs, and everyone cheers, so far.

Bringing it to PMs just turns it into a business transaction, it's slimy, and ugh. No one wants that, come on. Let's have fun with this!
 
I might have some PC games back in the closet if we havent already cleaned em out.

Also so far I havent really requested much...the things I REALLY want I end up missing :lol But so far i've given HL2:EP1, 1 month of XBL gold, and still have Gordon's first adventure into City 17 waiting for some lucky gamer.

Has nothing to do with jealousy or envy. I just think it would be good to set some ground rules before things get out of hand.
 
The only thing that kinda sucks about posting in here to get something is if you just came out of posting in another thread and saw something you wanted in here, then there's that whole minute of waiting where it'll probably get snatched up.

I think we're all working along the pretense that some people may be gracious enough to step aside if they don't really need something, as well as some posters limiting what can be asked for (1 console per person, you know).

Ideally, certain items wouldn't be awarded to people that have gotten too many honored requests...but we have no way of organizing things any better, so there's no real alternative to camping the thread or getting lucky, sadly. Hopefully some people have the common sense and courtesy to leave items to other people who might be more deserving (who haven't gotten anything yet).

Alot of ppl have been noting what item has been taken by who. That's sort of a rough way to go about it.

Sega Genesis console(model 2)
Sega 32x console
Ecco the Dolphin: The Tides of time
Bunch of Genesis controllers

Note: the video cable for the genesis/32x doesn't work, just the audio, so you'd have to get a new one. Also, will be giving these to the first to reply, not first to PM.

Well hopefully anyone that greedy gets red flagged soon enough before they deprive everyone of enjoying some great games. But like I said, I trust things won't get too out of hand.

Crap...I would go for it...but I dont think it'd be able to find anymore 32X games. Now if it had Knuckles Chaotix? I'd snap that in a second.
