To be fair, him coming in here and begging is against the spirit of the thread too.

I saw his request, and figured I might be able to help him out. I then told him to wait and see if anyone is willing to offer him a free one, though.

I'm not in here trying to make a profit, or something. It's just that the particular item he's looking for, I can't part with for free.

Folks listing what they are giving right alongside what they are offering up are just trying to trade via donation, anyway. Nothing wrong with that, but pretending otherwise is stupid.



Stop being a dick, and trying to police every little thing in this thread. It's one thing if some one comes in here with a list of things to sell or trade, but me telling a guy that I may be able to help him, and telling him to take any further comments to PMs is not something that deserves to be reprimanded.



If you keep playing police, you're just going to sour people on the thread, and folks won't offer as much/anything. If you want to create an atmosphere of goodwill, you actually have to behave with goodwill.

Wow, stop shitting all over the thread. All we're asking for is that you keep any offers asking for any compensation other than shipping out of the thread. I really don't think that's so much to ask, considering there's a buy/sell thread just around the corner.

What can happen is if your tactic works out for you, then other people might start asking for compensation, and then we turn this into yet another buy/sell thread. We're simply trying to prevent that.
 
Ok, I've got my pics uploaded of the stuff I have to give away, but I'm going to do it a little bit differently. Instead of posting it all at once and only the lucky few checking this thread right now have a chance, I'll post a few games at a time randomly over the next 24 hours.

All of these games are PC games. Almost all of them are from the Windows 95-98 era, but most of them should run on XP. I make no guarantees on them running in Vista. 1 game per person.

My apologies to the Canadians, but I can only mail them to the U.S. because of my crappy local post office. There is usually one 1 clerk working and a line that stretches out the door. Its about a 15-30 minute wait to get to the front desk. They do not keep the customs forms in the lobby so if I want to ship something to Canada, I have to stand in that ungodly line until I get to the front, get my customs forms, go to a desk and fill them out, then get back in line again at the end of the line. I'm usually there for a good 45 minutes if I want to ship something to Canada, and I don't have that kind of time.

I'll start with the first lot, which I consider to be the crappiest, and work my way to posting the best lot over the next day. Please don't PM, just reply to the thread and I'll PM you for your shipping info.

If opposing forces doesn't require having the original game, I would like it.

If you need to already have Half Life 1, then give it to some one else, since I only have HL1 on the PS2.

I don't know which game Brodie has...I just want to check it out and see if it's my type of game. Never really played a card based RPG before. I'll ship it along to the next person once I'm done with it. Of course, this is only assuming he finds it.

I'd like to enforce the idea we try to pass along games we receive through this thread, so that everyone can try or experience them. This would especially be great for RPGs like these that are generally hard to get a hold of this long after release.
 
Hmmm, from now on I'll have to start picking up strategy guides that get pennied out from work, I'm sure someone here would want some of them.

well I have the first Baten Kaitos game that came out on GC. If you are an RPG fan (i can tell from this thread you are) it would be dificult for you NOT to like Baten Kaitos. I had the same reservation about a "card" rpg but you will see that it's really a fantastic game. Not in terms of storyline or anything, but as far as general "vibe" and art direction go I would closely compare this to Chrono Cross, if you've played it.

I have Chrono Cross (picked it up a few months ago on the cheap) but haven't played it yet. Lent it out to a friend.

Still though, hype + 1 for Baten Kaitos :D.

Are those the really small but really thick strategy guides? If so we have one of persona 3 out and about, unfortunately I'm not sure how long it'll be before thrown out and I can take it though XD

Yeah they're often like that. I actually have their Disgaea 2 Persona 3, and Rogue Galaxy guides. Anyone with Persona 3 should much appreciate that guide...it's pretty sweet.

I'd be particularly interested in a Disgaea Hour of Darkness, or Disgaea Afternoon of Darkness guide, if there are any.
 
I wish I'd brought all my old EGMs and strategy guides with me to college, as well as the N64 games I don't like. I've been looking to rid myself of them but can't bring myself to just throw 'em away. Hopefully this thread is still alive in a month or so.
