Today is bill payment day, where I dole out what I can to the grubby hands of my bill collectors.

Electric, fine - it's within what I consider reasonable for what I use.

Phone, same.

Gas. . .

How in the FUCK do these slimey bastards justify bills averaging $80 a month when:

1. I have not had hot water since January, thus I don't use GAS to heat water.
2. I don't use my stove to cook anything.
3. I don't heat my house.

What, I'm paying $75-80 to these scoundrels just to have a pipe connected to my house?!

I'm gonna have to call these bastards tomorrow and act all indignant. >:|

I'm not on their fuck you all year 'round plan, because they do that anyhow. :X

It was great, back when I was looking for work and a couple months behind on my bill - the fee just kept piling up, then one month; I get the huge credit - SORRY! OUR ESTIMATES ARE FUCKED!

This wasn't a problem when I was rolling in the dough and could toss these bastards green that they could reimburse me at their liking. When you're strapped for cash, it's fucking absurd. Hey bitches. The meter is on the outside of the house fuckin' read it!

Still, talking with co-workers $80, even accounting for the age of this house, is fucking absurd when applying the conditions stated above.

I use no gas.

If I owned this place, it would be electric stove, and electric hot water heater and FUCK YOU gas company. >:|

Back in college (Toledo), me and a roommate decided to forgo gas heat for a few months to save some money. We just wore more clothes around the duplex. Since our neighbors in the lower part of the house had thier heat on all the time, it helped keep the temperature reasonable.


What did we save for all of our discomfort? 30 lousy dollars per month (our bill was around 90 dollars a month, during winter). We checked our bill and they upped how much they charged per unit of measure during that time. So, we paid almost twice as much for the gas we barely used. What a crock of shit. We called and complained, but what was the point?

I have about the same problem with my company (ong). They are still charging me $92 a month, and I built upwards of 100 or more in credit on my account so far as my gas usage has been around $16-20 (gas water heater). Even so my winter bills don't go more than $150 and thats usually only for 2 or 3 months. I even called to cancel the average billing and they said I couldn't get the credit back and would just have to wait it out.

That's the plan. First, I need to consolidate some debt that I foolishly racked up, well - when you're unemployed and have CC - it's a stupid but good way to keep your car insurance, gas, electric, and phone active while you search for work. :X

I'm eyeing New Mexico, on Castellan's suggestion, or Arizona.

The problem with the gas company is, you have to do this shit all the time. Which is why I'm bitching about it.
