Try saving the pics and uploading them to imageshack or something instead of leeching and they might work.

If you're talking about the Tech Demo, then it's just that. Not an actual game, though I'm sure there eventually will be one.

MS = the black guy in that last pic. Sad and degected.

Also, Pro Tip for MS: Learn to release screens like Sony.
He looks like he just got rejected by the black girl with the nice ass.

Its hard for me to believe that those are not photos. If the actual game looks anything like that, I will be beyond impressed.

How? He's the main guy on screen.

Considering what was possible on XBox1 (Riddick), I expect stuff like that down the line. I think people are seriously underestimating next-gen. Either that or I'm overstating things. I don't think I am going off the specs for both consoles.

WTF? Can we expect games to look like that next-gen?
Well, Mark Rein said that the tech demos were real time, and when they were presenting the footage these screens are for, they must've said a hundred times that this is a really good representation of what real PS3 games are going to look like.

It looks even better in motion.

this is a simulation demo of CELL running AI/world sim. I don't know how it got associated with GETAWAY 3 (other than the fact its the UK)

Wait, they said that while showing off the above footage? Or are you talking about Unreal?

It says The Getaway PS3 screen test at the bottom of the screens. I don't think they'd put this much resources on a tech demo and just throw away all those assets.

Its from Team SOHO who makes the getaway games.

It looked incredible in motion. Im not a Getaway fan but this demo seemed like a great indicator of how these "persistent worlds" are going to be really fleshed out next gen. Good thing too cuz GTA clones will be coming out the woodwork. ;)

edit-got my answer

"target visuals" aka CG.

I don't know about the CG part. The actual footage in the Sony Press Conference honestly didn't look all that hot to me but between the video feed and the mpeg compression of my copy maybe I'm just not seeing it at its best. Didn't really look impressive enough to warrant pre-rendered CGI though, particularly the animation.

And they did mention Getaway when they started this demo at the conference.

The first Getaway was quite as impressive. The devs had the right approach to the visuals...scan and digitize everything you'd see in London. They scanned even the character's faces in. Doing the same for a console that can finally do razorsharp textures, and higher poly counts, will result in probably one of the most photorealistic looking games out there.

Well, I am not sure it very well could have been realtime I just assumed it wasnt but if it is then it is impressive.

I just remember the presenter saying it was from Team SOHO.

I remember seeing that in motion. It looks to be real time. There's a lot of clipping.

Rapes those renders posted of some game earlier where many weren't impressed (few weeks ago). I exptected more...this is it. This is what PS3 is capable of IMO, and X360 should be close.

yeah. But I actually liked the game, it had nice plot and it was fun to drive around London. Hopefully they fix the horrible aiming and controls during on-foot missions.

I would bet you would be more dissapointed by the gameplay elements if their past games are anything to go by, same goes for Killzone.

Everything on PS3 is gonna be "target" at this stage it's so far away. probobly using assets they are creating for the game though, models, textures, etc... Wish MS would do the same honestly showing stuff at "1/3" the power isn't going to get me to rush out and pre order. More stuff like GoW however......

Well to be fair, like with Killzone, both titles were far more ambitious than the hardware was really capable of. I still think both teams will be capable of some really, really good stuff now that they've got such a powerful system to work with.

For sure. Both teams are very talented when it comes to technical graphics, they still did some pretty impressive stuff on PS2. I can't wait to see what they come up with on PS3, only see, don't really want to play them though :P

Who did? I don't remember hearing that during the conference, and I know Mark Rein said that the tech demos, the Fight Night demo, and the Unreal 2007 demo were real time.

Yeah, you're right, they didn't say it wasn't real time, but that it was a "vision" of what games could look like. Not actually Getaway 3. Then again, I just rewatched it and these aren't screens from said demo, but it is the same exact location.

One misleading aspect of almost all released "next generation footage" is the high level of anti-aliasing still being applied for PR effect. Just because next generation systems will be doing a little AA doesn't mean the IQ will be almost perfect like in these shots or in the DOA4 screens.

High resolution plus AA means that they could be as clean as those shots. Tell me, 1080p + AA and it wouldn't look that clean? Or cleaner?

Yeah, the AA thing is a little annoying, but it's really only applicable to the screenshots released and watching footage of the "Getaway" (or whatever it is) pretty much shows it was real time (or an extremely scaled back pre-render).

Mark Rein said it was realtime, and the comment about the bug in the code which makes all the numberplates the same also suggests it was realtime.

So game teams will have several thousand artists per project to generate a citie's worth of content at that level of detail I assume?
