New Event starts now. Live Groove: Vocal Burst. The event song is Yumeiro Harmony. Event lasts until November 8th.

Medley sing where you're given 3 randomly generated songs to play and if you do well, you get a brand new song as a 4th Encore song.

During the medley, you will have to maintain a good combo and high score rank so you get a high Applause Level. If you clear all 3 songs and get Level 17 Applause, you get to attempt the 4th song, Yumeiro Harmony.

You need to hit Level 21 Applause to get to attempt Yumeiro Harmony at a new difficulty, Master+!

Points and ranking and decided by how well you perform in the song and idols with a higher Vocal stat will fare better in this event.

For Master, you spend 50 stamina to participate.

The unlocks for this event yumeiro Harmony, SR Yuko Hori, and SR Yukari Mizumoto.

Event cards are psychic girl and flute girl for those who haven't played DereMas and only watched the anime.

From my experience, this event is VERY fun. And once you hit 5000 points, you unlock a brand new song to play whenever you want.

It's also really easy to rack up points. One Master run for me at A or S Rank gives me over 500+ event points. SR Yuko is unlocked at 10,000 rather than 15,000 this time around.

EDIT: HOLY FUCK MASTER+ IS HARD... It made me cry, harder than freaking Anzu no Uta. Damn.

Jesus. I wouldn't even want to attempt this without my Healer+Guard team, but that one is such a mishmash of types that it probably wouldn't even be able to score high enough to try.

Not even bothering with this event, they're cranking them out so fast that it's going to burn people out and I hate the structure of it. Pay almost all your stamina up front for the chance at playing Russian roulette with the setlist (Legne and Anzu being the bullets), or play the safe option and choose Pro only to get a crappy 329 points. On top of that you don't even get rewards for clearing the individual songs (goodbye FC Android Pro, it'll be years before I get that again).

Well my not being familiar with the Passion and Cute songs as well as RNG never giving me anything besides Cool idols is all getting all rolled into one big bite in my ass with this event. It'll take about 39 runs doing normal to get Spoon-Chan, she's cute, but even in that towel she ain't that cute.

Yeah, now that I see the screen again, it has that. But why hide it again after they changed it to pop out before each song in normal mode (and no, I didn't disable it)?

Also, the game changed idols in my team temporarily? It even gave XP to the idol it chose for me. Again, it was normal in single play. And I only have a single team made.

No, hakoyure is just a points modifier used in iDOLM@STER games that they added into Deresute. It's kind of like an atmosphere meter to gauge how interested the fans are in your Live.

I didn't know what else to call it since it's basically the level of appeal you get during a song. But since appeal is already a stat in the game I just decided to use applause? Unless you want to call it hakoyure. All Japanese wiki refer to it as hakoyure but I not sure if that would make sense for English players.

They never really explain or say what it's short for in the game but I assume that part of it means fan interest because hakoshinja means xbox fan and iDOLM@STER debuted on Xbox console before hitting playstation.

Random master songs would slay me so I have to stick with pro on this event. Other than not getting credit towards your song clears, I like this one. Not gonna try very hard to rank but definitely shooting for the 10k points mark for the yellow SR.

I've only done two 10-pulls since the game came out so I have't been able to see for myself and I haven't been able to get an answer anywhere else, but on the Gacha screen what's up with the featured idols? Are they only available during the shown period or is it just increased chance? And is it possible to get other SSRs besides the featured one?

I rerolled about 150 accounts and got an SSR Anzu (well, that's the short version of the story) but I have been saving jewels (up to 14150) since launch for a featured gacha that I wanted someone from. Kinda wanted Chieri which is why I did this draw, but my red team is in pretty good shape so I'm saving the rest to do 4x pulls whenever there's another tempting gacha, so I can be in ultimate bankrupt despair as I spend all my jewels and get 4 SRs that I don't want and 36 Rs.

I also have (well, until tonight) over 14000 jewels and got them all from just playing the game. Haven't spent any money on this yet. And I have only cleared 3 songs on master so there are a whole lot more free jewels I will be able to earn once I git gudder.

Worst is when I get Anzu no Uta, though. Holy fuck, that chart rocks me hard.

EDIT: I've just been spending my jewels as I've got them, and I guess in total I probably had around 11,000 jewels just from playing and full comboing Pro songs (and a handful of the easier songs on Master). Got my next 10-roll stocked up, but I'm smart enough now to keep my hands on them till the gatcha's got something I actually want in it. SR (and hypothetical SSR) Koume or Anastasia are my main things. Kanako wouldn't be bad either.

Hase went on by mentioning the death threats against her as a major source of anxiety. The pressures that came with dealing with police made it physically and mentally difficult for her to record. She suffered from hyperventilation just by going to rehearsals. Although she had told the Namco staff that she could not appear at events, they had told her, "Please continue to play Yukiho!"

She actually changed her name to Yurina Hase post iM@S... It's sad because she was also a friend of the late Miyu Matsuki who recently passed away.

These things aren't uncommon when you become even a little bit more high profile, even within a niche fanbase as this.

Hideaki Anno, Satoshi Kon, Kyary, Galileo Galilei, TUBE, Ai Shinozaki, all of them have gotten some form of harassment or threats during their career. It extends to famous people of other countries as well and it's disgusting.

At least it isn't Anzu no Uta. Ranko x2 is manageable. How do you feel about the event so far? I like it more than token events.

I like it a ton. For token events, there was always that feeling of "only play the most efficient songs that I can S-rank over and over", this has a ton more variety to it. The medley format allows me to do not so well on the more difficult ones, but still able to overall S-rank if at least one of the others is an easier one.

Of course there are occasions of being destroyed by RNG like I said above, but overall, it's great fun. The only complaint I really have is that any full clear bonus doesn't count outside the event. I was able to FC a few Master songs for the first time, but not consistently and I probably won't be able to get it again.

I didn't try the new cool song (Minami?) before the event and it showed up in the event and I got full combo on the first time ever trying it (on pro)...

Once this event is over and I go try that song on its own I'm sure it will take me a couple dozen tries to get it right again... orz

I decided to compile numbers from various polls from 2011-2015 to find out who is consistently the most popular original 765 iMAS characters are. Results come from official polls, polls from stores, popular blog polls, etc.

Here are results. Miki, Chihaya, and Makoto are consistently in the top 3 with each of them at one point or another beating each other out at most popular. The list is basically a popularity tier list and each space is basically interchangeable.

I also find it funny that despite Makoto's constant popularity, Harada, director of Tekken, almost always leaves her out in Bandai Namco crossovers.

(S) Consistently Top 3, Interchangeable

(A) Sometimes cracks Top 3

(B+) Top 6

(B) Moderately Popular

(C) Niche Supporters

(D) Consistently bottom.

Current Official Cinderella Girls Popularity. Not even going to bother because too many and Bandai Namco already does an annual poll that changes every year.

Piyochan is more popular than she is supposed to be considering she rarely has any cards, songs, or appearances.

I wrote down niche for Iori section because the numbers kind of had that trend and since she was in the same group as Ritsuko and Piyochan. Iori would sometimes have popularity spikes but it was never enough to say she was definitely more popular.

Haruka is kind of the same, she has spikes in popularity, but not enough to warrant a top 5 placement and she is already the vanilla character that Bannam always markets.

Yukiho is actually really popular, but not as popular as the top 5. Sometimes higher than Haruka.

The top 4 are without a doubt the most popular in terms of fan voting.

In terms of work and merchandise, Chihaya, Takane, Azusa, Haruka, and Hibiki all have more drama/talk show/event appearances than every other character.

Well the thing with Cinderella Girls is that it is a Flavor of the Week contest. It changes constantly. The top characters only change because people vote unpopular characters so that they can debut with songs and a character voice. They aren't necessarily the most popular characters in general.

So Shuko, Yumi, etc. are voted to the top because they have yet to get a voice actress or any song debut. Anastasia didn't even get a voice until like last year or the year before.

The most consistently popular Cinderella Girls characters are:

Rin
Ranko
Kaede

Those 3 are almost ALWAYS within Top 10 voting. I'm just way too lazy to compile data for it because there are like fucking 100 CG characters and it's not worth it.

M0t0k1 covered some of it but here's more stuff about him.

Harada actually hated iDOLM@STER at first because of some trauma he faced having forced to play the arcade game at a gesen for hours with his own money. Harada was getting lokedata for Tekken for balance changes and the owner of the gesen he was at was mad that iDOLM@STER at the time wasn't making any money and to do something about it. So as a Bannam employee, Harada would play the game for the entire day to attract business. Harada admitted that at the time he didn't have the foresight to see that the game would be as popular as it was.

Coincidentally Iori was the idol he produced during the time he was forced to play the game and he thought, maybe we were destined to suffer together. From 2005 to 2007 Harada would be asked to crossover iDOM@STER by his superior and Koyama with other Bandai Namco games and only complied because they were the same company. However during this he said he would be reminded of the hardships he faced with Iori and he felt a spiritual connection.

Fast forward to 2007-2008 after Tekken 6 was released Toyama one of the music composers was asked to move from Tekken onto iDOLM@STER. He confronted Harada saying that he wanted to make a song like KARMA (Electric Fountain) from Tekken 6. The song would eventually become Hibiki's solo song next life and after seeing the choreography and music, Harada realised that his impact is when he started to love iDOLM@STER. He was also inspired by how hard the idols had to work for each practice.

He then proceeded to have iDOLM@STER consume his life and started to treat his virtual idols as work colleagues and his work as a Producer seriously.

His favourite idol is Iori because she reminds him of his favourite Tekken character Lili because of their rich girl tsundere qualities and because he cherishes the time they spent together.

In One For All he said that his ideal unit would be Iori as centre and with Miki, Yukiho, Yayoi, and Hibiki as backup dancers because he thought they would make Iori shine the most. His favourite anime episode was 7 because he liked how Yayoi and Iori played off of the rich girl poor girl trope and that they would work really well in a unit. He also thought Hibiki was fun because she reminded him of children laughing and watching morning anime.

Harada is also extremely addicted to the Mobage Cinderella Girls and has spent a lot of his own money in the game producing Iori and battling other Producers. He has yet to comment on Million Live or Deresute but he most definitely plays those too.

Harada's biggest wish is to be able to attend an iDOLM@STER Live Concert as he has never gotten the chance to even attend one. He later revealed that he wasn't even able to watch the one at Tokyo Game Show 2015 because of his work.

Star Piece Memories from the Movie is his favourite outfit.

Interesting that the composer for Next Life worked on Tekken 6 as well, I always had noticed the similarities between Electric Fountain and Next Life but didn't put 2 and 2 together.
