Okay, let's see if it's possible to dust this thread off. If you're into indies, maybe put the thread on your watchlist and we can get something going. I'm just gonna comment on a few indies I've been playing recently then.
PC Building Simulator
This can be really fun once you get a job that's an actual challenge. Problem is, a lot of the jobs so far are equivalent to trash mobs and are pretty much routine work like switching the GPU or hard drive. At least it is for me since I'm familiar with PC building. But it does seem as if things will get harder later on. Until then it's still quite neat to play with a podcast or music in the background.
The House of Da Vinci
So this is a puzzle game comparable to The Room. There's no doubt that this is a quality game with a lot of effort put into it. But I'm not sure that it is for me. I tend to tire quickly if I don't make progress and a lot of the stuff here is
hard. I would never get through it all without help, but thankfully there's a very comprehensive hint system. Though a few of the solutions involve clicking in unlikely places so that kinda sucks. Honestly, if I do finish this I will make heavy use of the hints. Which isn't the worst thing, it's still cool to see how all these crazy machines work.
Immortal Redneck
Roguelike + Old School Shooter? Yes, I love both of those so this is right up my alley. The weapons feel good, the enemies are fun to shoot and there's a decent variety of rooms. You
can run out of ammo which does suck when it happens as the only action you have at that point is to throw your weapon which does a bit of damage. This is an 8/10 for me and a definite recommend if you're into roguelikes.
Tower Unite
Tower Unite is a playground to hang out in, with a wide variety of mini games, an apartment that can be furnitured, a casino and lots of other stuff. Admittedly, a lot of it is pretty shallow but some of the mini games do have a large amount of content and some of it can be pretty challenging. My favorite is the Super Monkey Ball style mini game but the minigolf is really popular too. Best enjoyed with friends. I don't have friends but I had plenty of fun anyway.
