Well I am about to get my first big new job, and I am wanting a new car. I also place a lot of blame on the Texas State Fair Auto Show, damn you and your showrooms. Currently I drive a 2001 Tiburon, but lately I have been looking into either a Jeep Wrangler, or a Scion tC.

Now I have or am about to pay off my current car, and yes I already want a new one (how stupid). What are my options.. The trade in for it isnt too great.. only about 4,950 according to Kelly Blue Books, but its got really low miles 28000 for a 2001 and is decked out in alot of options and is in good/decent condition.

I'm not sure if I should finance and just pay off a new car again or lease one maybe? Whats the down and upsides to each, I know upsides to financing is just the whole "You own it now its yours" but Im afraid ill just pull what I did again here, but if its going to be a big price difference from Leasing then I'd just bite the bullet and do it.

In the end, Im confused.. Not sure of the whole process.. especially how much should someone put on a down payment if the trade in value will be around 5000ish.. Im hearing if you do finance finance through your bank not the dealership etc..

But anymore tips/help would be greatly appreciated.

Jeep Wrangler if I equip it the way I want will be about 22,000, and Scion tC will be about 20,000.

Thanks for any help you may leave.

Do you want to own this car for more than 3 or 4 years? If yes, you should go the finance route. If you don't drive a lot and don't plan on keeping the car for a long period of time just lease it.

Doesnt leasing have like hidden fees that i will have to pay for later on like when turning the car back in.. or when gettig the car at first?

Thats what I heard so i got worried..

PLEASE DO NOT TRADE IN THAT CAR. if you buy a korean car you have to be in it for the long run the depreciation is insane
