For some games, you can download the retina patch for 'enhanced visuals' on your screens. :D

The iPad is the game board and the iPhones are the little wooden things that normally hold your letters. Kinda neat, nothing necessary.
How does that work though? Obviously you can't pick letters off your iPhone screen and place them on the iPad, so I don't see what you mean by using the phones as tile holders. What happens when you actually play a word?

Anyone else notice that the jump button in Rayman appears to be an explosive, bloody diarrhea button if you REALLY look at it?

Is anyone else playing Layton Brothers: Mystery Room (Japanese only ATM)?

I'm only a couple of cases in but I'm loving it. It's very similar to Phoenix Wright in that you collect evidence and try to find discrepancies in testimony to root out the killer.

According to the website there are 5 cases in total, and based on the length of the first couple it's well worth the 800 yen sale price (and the 1200 yen regular price). More episodes are apparently planned, and hopefully will be similarly priced. I'd recommend this in a heartbeat to anyone who likes Layton and/or Phoenix Wright.

My Wi-Fi is gonna be down for the night and I wanted to play some Bastion and was wondering; if I get any new achievements during this time, will they sync up with Game Center when I reconnect to it with Wi-Fi tomorrow?

Any good iOS games get released in the past week, paid or free?

Rayman and The Room seem to be last week's picks. I started the Room last night and it's really really good. Also the reference to Guildford made me chuckle since I work just down the road from there.

Does FFT: War of the Lions experience the same ability slowdown on an iPhone 5 as on a PSP/Vita? That shit drove me crazy, but I really want to replay the game.

You can turn off emeny colours and another effect I can't remember - this makes the game run super slick.

What is the track record of Ubisoft's apps in term of going on sale?

Lol I don't want to pay $3 and it drops to $1 a week later like those EA or Rockstar games.

Don't be cheap, buy the game.

I guess I'll wait until Final Fantasy: Dimensions then. iOS 6 is so much faster than 5, woah. I know deals will come soon, I'll dl other games In the meantime. One thing I noticed coming from the play store is the not so great interface on the App Store. Maybe apple should rethink the design?

I hear that FF Dimensions is not only underwhelming but is also insanely overpriced for what the game is.

Ugh, I hope that gets localized in English.

Hmm mind linking to The Room please?

http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/the-room/id552039496?mt=8

iPad only though, not sure what you're using. The game reminds me a lot of Myst/7th Guest et al but the puzzles seem to be much less obtuse so far. I'm really impressed. It's like a piece of thread you're pulling from a jumper, unravelling before you.

...

I bought Rayman late last night but have yet to play it. My fingers are itching to get at it. Maybe if I lock my office door and pretend I'm out for a bit?

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post but we've released our first game for the iPhone, it is called The Blops and it is an action oriented match3 game with a little strategy.

Check out the screenshots, trailer and some wallpapers at our website or get it on the AppStore

I hope you like it!

Finally got a chance to tuck into some Rayman. Very nice indeed. I can't believe it performs so well my iPad 1.

2-3 took me three tries. :)

I noticed Apple finally improved on the updates. Don't have to download the entire app/game again to update it. I like the patching system.

Eh? I haven't heard of this.

Noticed it too. Updating Galaxy on Fire only took like a minute instead of 30 minutes. Same for IB2. also, NO MORE CONSTANT PASSWORD ENTRY REQUESTS FOR UPDATES. yesss. Definitely the best part about the update. Still doesn't make up for how absolutely shitty apple maps is, though. -.-
Delta app updates were added silently in Beta 4 of iOS 6.

Two-minute mode in Super Monsters Ate My Condo sounds like it would be perfect for the GAF challenges (rip). Dash, come back! :(

horn is good. need to complete it still its quite long.

also what is super monsters ate my condo and why should i be excited?

Never played MAMC? Dude, I think it went free a while back (might still be). Play it, and you'll understand why a sequel is something to get excited about.

Is this the same game with added IAPs? Thats what the screenshots look like

Don't think so. I believe it's a full-fledged sequel.

That's what I thought as well from the screenshots. Hopefully someone can clarify this but it seems like its just a new 2 min mode with "optional" iap that can help boost ur scores. Would be v disappointed if that's the case because I absolutely love the first game.

Gods and Blades is out tonight, and seems to be really well-received among those that've played it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=l6qQl8Hww3c. I think it looks pretty cool.

Also: Rayman. I'm falling deeper in love. Ubisoft is so amazing, in that they make these brilliant decisions that actually pay off, decisions no other large publisher has the smarts or courage to make -- letting Chahi do essentially whatever he wanted with From Dust, or, instead of making an internal team spit out an UBIart-powered Rayman for mobiles, giving it to a very small, talented and experienced iOS developer. And yet these decisions are lightly sprinkled in with those such as their draconian DRM and the torture porn that was the Splinter Cell E3 trailer. Bravo, Ubi, you beautiful, stupid bitch.

I often get the feeling that the mobile depts at big publishers are flying very much under the radar. Eventually a big suit will notice and fuck it all up, like with EA.

So I finally bought and played Rayman Jungle Run... god damn this game is beautiful and good.

Now, this is how you do a platformer on touch screen devices.

The original was 3 CDs.
There are TONS of dialogues, everytihng is spoken and there is an almost complete full orchestra event in the game.
The dev said the app contains all the languages, maybe they will release an english only version which can trim down the footprint a bit (about 300 megs) but it's not even decided nor sure.
I like the fact it contains all the spoken languages...always played in English, would like to check out the Italian version too, which was published almost a year later due to the fact that Broderbund was out of businness the day the game was published in the USA (hence almost nobody played it, even if reviews considered it awesome).
I remember I had to do quite an effort to get the game back in the days...the publisher didn't even shipped the game to shops.

Kinda jolted a bit by discussion of consumable IAP for SMAMC. It's a high-score game. Gonna wait for more info, but it sure sounds like you can buy high scores. Disappoint...

I hope Super Monsters Ate My Condo is played in shorter sessions than the first one. Games could last foreever

If you are no good at the game you're definitely not going to be able to buy your way to the top of the leaderboards. That's not how this game works - you still need skill. Everyone has the same 10 boosts to pick from as long as they've progressed far enough to unlock them, costing from 250-3,000 coins (there's only 1 of those), and you can earn those coins by playing if you don't want to buy coin packs. You start with 10k. And the coin doubler in this game doubles all coin earnings including the chance wheel.

If you're good at the game I don't think you'll have much problem. You might have to grind a little if you don't have the doubler, but I don't think it'll be crazy.

Games have a 2-minute timer, but that can be extended by matching clock condos. You definitely won't see games lasting forever this time around.

Sounds doable. How much is the doubler?
