Question for you, how can I see newly added games in Itunes? I realised that I didn't see Tentacles because it's not in the "new and noteworthy" yet. I don't see a category or sorting option in the game section of Itunes in order to display something like "newly added games" or something...
Appshopper.

And yeah batman is surprisingly solid. Probably one of the better action adventure games from gameloft.

I mean it is about as good as your typical shitty movie tie in, but its only a buck and its quite impressive looking at times.

Classic X-Com on my iPhone? Yes please:

2 years in the making, out now:

Cool, bought! I saw it a few weeks back but it seemed unfinished. This update seems well worth the two quid.

Never played an xcom game before, but I like tbs games, hope it's good.

I wanted to share Cybergeddon, the latest app that I worked on. It's a game we made for the newest IP from Anthony Zuiker (the guy who created CSI).

The game is basically an arcade-y tower defense game revolving around a TRACE mechanic. Setting = 'within a computer mainframe,' and the idea is that you are being hacked. It's up to you to protect the Core that's getting attacked and ultimately the destroy the enemy spawn points.

Please give it a shot if you like - the full game is FREE and I think especially fun for those who like to climb up the leaderboards.

And retaining his crown as the king of missing the point is....
Is it really that much to ask for some originality and a development process that goes beyond copying existing material almost 1:1, especially when they intend to profit from the results and the primary difference seems to be lesser art? Even the official sequel seems to try more new things than this game. You wouldn't see me calling Legend of Grimrock a rip off of Dungeon Master, because nothing about it screams it is one despite the similarities, design goals and the iOS version (which hopefully hasn't been canned, I haven't seen it mentioned recently, though I wasn't looking for it). Ah well, I shouldn't even try to reason with someone who gets hurt/upset enough to go on the offense over that comment, but anyway, I thought I'd elaborate. Shit, I didn't even say it is a rip off, I just said it looks like one. A response explaining why (if!) it isn't would have been great, but it wasn't meant to be. The original game is readily available (Steamed, for one), if you wanted to try that I don't see what stopped you, any PC runs DOSBOX. Being fanmade is no excuse since, again, they're trying to profit from it, unlike say, the developers of Alien Assault (a Space Hulk remake, they used to have permission for it, but lost it and thus changed a few things including the name - they're also doing a sequel which I'm sure will present new features and ideas, I'm not sure if it will be free or not this time though, we'll see). If you want to call it an homage vs my ripoff that's fine, going on the offensive and claiming I missed things or whatever shit is silly.

Toucharcade has a list every Wednesday night with iTunes links http://toucharcade.com/2012/10/03/coming-tonight-43/

and their forums are pretty good to see what games are popular or in development

Tentacles is pretty awesome so far, the first few levels were easy but now it's starting to get challenging

Well it's very obviously meant to be a close homage to xcom, the closeness being the point of the project, especially since the is no official port of the game available. It's fan made by a couple of people, that's a labour of love, not a rip off. Calling it so is cynical and as I said, missing the point.

The idea is to make a classic game available to a new generation of players, and I'm grateful for that, having not played the original before.

Took me a minute to work out what the game even was, LOL

Seems to have gotten decent reviews, for free it would be rude not to try

It's fun, I enjoyed it

(it's a rhythm game like Elite Beat Agents sorta if you dont want to read)

Is Noby Noby Boy worth buying before it gets removed? It looks kind of dumb, like a weird sandbox type of game. But some people seem to say it is good.

It's a shame Pocket UFO never was picked up in an official manner. It's a perfect copy of the original (being that well, it is the original), with a new UI optimized for touch screen. So at least it feels like real deal.

To me, this new port looks like amateur hour all over (which is probably because it is), as if they wanted to make X-Com with a tile swap. It also screams rip-off as much as any other gameloft game does, more so because all the elements are kept nearly exactly the same. Maybe there are more differences underneath, but something like Xenonauts would be better representative of what I imagine a X-Com clone to look like.

If you missed the original, there's no reason why you can't play it, if you wanted to. This game will not replace it, only offer an imitation of it. Maybe that's enough, but it's not the original X-com that everyone loves and cherished.

No, it's nothing like the PS3 game. You don't do anything in it, literally. The big thing of the app was that it would record your steps, say a commute to work. Then the data from this would go on to help reach the next planet. Like I say, it had potential but as it stands it's nothing more than a glorified toy

Yeah I have a WiFi only iPad, so that would be worthless for me.

Decent concept, but has some serious flaws in its execution. Still the closest thing iOS and Android have to DJMAX Technika.

(RIP Rhythmix)

Well it's enough for me at the moment at least, especially since I can't bring myself to play games on my POS PC so this is as close as I can get for the time being. But really, I can't bring myself to call a remake by a tiny team that will sell hardly any copies a rip off. Maybe it is too slavish, but I gather that's the point. I admire the effort if nothing else.

It does feel very amateur though, they could do a lot with the UI to make it easier to play. I've played the first couple of levels now and I'm digging it for now.

It's quite impossible to stop playing Burrito Bison, although I'm playing the flash version online.

feels good man. I'm on a 11 winning game streak right now
Despite balance fixes, there are still some atrocious bonuses being applied either way. I've dominated people ranked above me and theoretically dominated people below, but have received two health powerups when I've received none at all. It can be a load of shit at times.

But I can't stop playing :/

PS. I haven't tried a game with a friend yet, it's just been randoms. I'm not sure whether to let you continue with your streak or not ;)

Zookeeper Battle. Most fucking infuriating game I've played on iOS, and I've played a lot of games on iOS (I haven't gotten Super hexagon yet though)
It is, but... damn, I can't stop :(

I still love the original on iOS as well. Such crack.

And to whoever recommended playing Butterfly mode in Bejeweled 3 (which is just Bejeweled on iOS) is a legend. I'm hooked.

I tried this and failed on the first level. I had no idea wtf I was doing, there's no visual feedback for my input.

Also, there's IAPs, though I've no idea how 'necesary' they are.
