Does anyone know what happened to the new Penny Arcade game?
I know it came out on PC and Mac but I'm holding off until it's out for iOS.

All quiet, think they need to port it properly this time unlike Cthulu. That on top of them working on an xpac for the PC / XBLA versions means it might be a while.

Yeah I got it. I spent a thoroughly enjoyable day playing through it, it's a really unique and engrossing experience I thought. It's funny how 90s it feels but unlike a lot of the old fmv adventure games, the feel hasn't aged terribly. It's not much of a 'game' though, is it? Which isn't necessarily even a criticism, much of the enjoyment came from experiencing the story like a book almost. It would be interesting to see a more modern take on a game that is this narratively driven would feel like. Actually, I played Walking Dead just after finishing it, and that has a similar feel to it, so I guess there are people still moving the tradition on. I played it on iPad too, it played great. I don't know if I'd like to play something so casual on a phone, I feel I need to relax into it like with a book.

I just bought nova 3, preparing to shatter my preconceptions!

NOVA 3 kinda sucks. Should've gotten Modern Combat 3 instead.

Certain parties (*cough*SQUARE*cough*) get away with it by specifying bogus physical requirements like a front-facing camera or a rear camera flash, despite it being against Apple's TOS. Has anyone asked Apple why Square gets a free pass, and if they continue to get a free pass why can't everyone else do the same without penalty?
We do this with kids as well. We require front facing camera's. But there is not hardware requirement that will exclude ipod touch 4 gen and iphone 4. The ipod Touch 4 gen has only 256 mb ram which is often not enough for unity games.

It's a huge flaw in the app store and a number of developers are paying the price because of that.

I should probably play more Galaxy on Fire 2 but I've been hooked on 10000000. Very nice twist on the match formula.

What are similar games? Dungeon Raid I believe? Although I don't think there is an Ipad version. Any others?

Edit: Yay, can I pile on Gameloft again? :D I already deleted Nova 3 off my Ipad.

Are there any decent sim-esque games for iOS? I was watching the Sim Golf event Giant Bomb did and I remembered how much I love those games and what a perfect fit they are for iOS. I don't want anything with micro-payments though, a cost upfront is fine but micro-payments are an absolute no-no for me.

Dungeon Raid is absolutely fantastic.
W.O.P.R is pretty good.

Puzzle Dungeons is pretty good too although you swap tiles instead of tracing a line.

Funny you should ask at this particular time. I'm currently hooked on Rebuild. It's kinda Sim City set in a zombie apocalypse. It's a buck right now (on sale), and there are zero IAPs. Wasn't even sure I would like the game. Now, I can't stop playing it. Game times are about on par with Civ Rev.

iOS 6 game updates are so damn nice, GOF2 HD 1.1.1 downloaded and installed in 2 seconds. No more 1gb downloads, long live delta updates.

Me too, I also love sim games and have been disappointed with the lack of proper examples on iOS (it always bugs me when people call the "tap stuff and wait" games like Tiny Tower, Pocket Planes, Smurfs, etc. sim games).

I told myself I was done buying apps this pay period after getting Bastion, Scapes, Tweetbot, and SMAMC last night, but I'll grab that for a buck to see what the fuss is about.

Just completed (again...was a while since last time, maybe 2-3 years) The Last Express, seeing the 'real' ending (the amazing one, with the mini movie at the end).

Truly the best adventure ever made.
What an ending!!!

Despite having played the game so much, I still have trouble in the Vienna part.

The iOS port is freaking awesome.

The Virtual City games by G5 are pretty good! They're a bit more about creating economy/industry chains an connecting them, etc, but they're a lot of fun!

Not my genre anymore, but I'll have to tell my wife about it. She loves these games still.

Just scored my highest atk stat ever, kinda overkill lol

Anyone pick up The Last Express? I love having it on my Touch, wonder how it will run on my wife's iPad. Nothing like that game, fuck it's so good.

On iPad it's damn perfect IMHO.
It's awesome on iPhone too, but sometimes you have to pan horizontally the screen, something you do not have to on the bigger screen.

Does anyone know which is the secret achievement? It's the only one I miss, despite having completed the game properly with the big ending.

Is Scribblenauts playable/comparable to DS version without having to pay for a ton of IAP? I am on a roll for iOS purchases since I just got my iPhone 5 yesterday. This is one I've always been meaning to play but never had a DS/iOS device to give it a shot.

How long is the game? It might be hard to estimate as you're familiar with the game, so won't be getting stuck.

Hmmmm it's a bit difficult for me to say being familiar with the game, but I think that (not using hints) you are looking at least at 10-15 hours for the first playthrough.

Despite being familiar with the game, I had my share of problems around Vienna too :)

Wimp who stole my pants HD is only .99. Seems fun so far. Anyone playing this?

Bought it because of all the hype on TA, played through most of the first world and some of the second. Erased it. It's decent, but I really wasn't having all that much fun with it. Seems like clever platforming easily wins over TA members. They're not very critical, however, of controls, physics, and other basic mechanics and design.

Got back into ZK Battle after seeing people post about it again in the thead, I'm surprised they haven't raised the waiting time yet (I guess they won't anymore?). Haven't been playing as much so I don't get addicted again, but I'm trying to at least win enough battles for the timed quests. I only did the first one back when it was released.

Comes with 50 levels. The iap is .99 and it gets you everything forever (so far). The main issue people have is that it doesn't give star ratings so there is little reason to do levels more than once.

Got NOVA 3 on sale for 99c. I see Bad Piggies, Angey Birds Space and Amazing Spider-Man is also just 99c, considering them.

What games are on sale now of the high prolific ones?

I'm having fun with Battleheart, 7 hours in right now.
Such a shame there are no Gamecenter's achievements.

Any love for the game? I find this kinda hard to be honest! Not even sure how long it is :S

Hi guys. my first iphone game has finally been approved.

The game reverts back to those classic nintendo game and watch style games.

It can be found here

Some thoughts after having messed around with this a bit: it's fun, getting into the zone with a ton of guys on the screen feels great and I think this game has a ton of potential, but a few things keep it from feeling great to me. This is a problem I think affects most games that involve some sort of ramping up in difficulty, but the game takes awhile to get going. I wish I could start playing around level 3 rather than have to go through the first two simple levels every time. The game also seems to ramp up really quickly, the first few levels are very easy but around level 5 there's a really steep increase in difficulty.

The controls work great at first, but after you get the fourth button it's really easy to get messed up because guys will look like they're falling directly towards a button, but it may not be the one you need to press to save them. The game would be a lot more managable if you sized the button so that pressing them activates a platform directly above them.

I would recomend adding a scoring system, with a multiplier that increases whenever save a number of guys without missing one. It would make the game more exciting and give a purpose to the easier early stages.

The game is really fun though, like I said getting in the zone when there's a half dozen guys on the screen is great.

Despite still thinking that the boosts are pretty lame, I picked up SMAMC. I think I'm getting pretty good (averaging about 250,000 without boosts) but I have no idea what I'm supposed to do when I'm in a Megazone. I end up just flinging condos out as fast as a I can hoping to get a match, and I feel like I'm wasting an opportunity. Am I right in thinking that getting rid of shinies during a Megazone has no effect since there's no monster to feed them too?
