Here's a gameplay video of my iOS/Android game, Chopper Mike, running at 60 frames per second, fully pixel lit on a Samsung Galaxy S2! Also works on iPhone 4/4S/5, iPad and Android tablets too!
The menus are in flux... all going to be changed. And I know it says 'shop' but that's coming out. 99p and the whole game is yours! Should be out next month.

As a current iPad 3rd generation owner and former iPad 2 owner, I don't think I could ever go back to a non retina display. So the current iPad mini is already dead in the water as far as I'm concerned.
Different people I guess.
I have an iPad 2 without Retina and an iPhone 5 with Retina, also have used my sister's iPad 3 with Retina a lot and I can live without to be honest. I honestly couldn't see the difference instantly when I first had them side-by-side at an "Apple" store. Don't misunderstand, there's clearly a difference but to me, it's not mindblowing. But it probably would have been nice on the Mini for reading purposes.

Cool! I've been meaning to try this out for awhile.
Punch Quest is pretty fun, I wish they'd made the menus a little more original so they don't feel as ripped from Jetpack Joyride but it's a fun endless runner. The bosses are really annoying, maybe I'm doing something wrong but it feels like they take too long to kill.

I think it lets you play unlimited games at once and you can see a list of words played. Without unlocking the full game I think you are limited to playing 1 game at a time.

Yeah it does seem thinkgeek is clearing inventory of those for what I assume a new one that fits the new iphone and ipod touch.
Just started playing Penny-Arcade 3 on my iPad last night, and when I hit the can at work I loaded it up on my iPhone to continue my game. No cloud saves! That kinda sucks...defies the purpose of a Universal App in a way, doesn't it.
Can anybody confirm this? Is there anything I have to do to activate it or something?

Yeah, it's great. Free version lets you play two games at once
Punch Quest is pretty good but I'm not really into endless runners, even if it does have a bunch of unlocks. I wish RocketCat made more non-runner games, the original Hook Champ and Mage Gauntlet were great

What's the problem? This definitely isn't your typical runner. It pretty much is a brawler on rails.
It's probably one of the most impressive games I've played in a while.

Also, I can't believe Squids Wild West just went free. An iOS game so good I would have happily paid $10 for it.

Adopting the same artistic approach as its console counterparts, Legends sports a vibrant, stylized look thats nearly indistinguishable from its big brothers. Small touches, such as detail-drenched character models and crackling fire effects, further complement the familiar presentation.
Looks are pretty much all Legends has in common with its predecessors, though, as its gameplay signifies a drastic departure from the series defining open-world first-person shooting. Viewed from a top-down perspective, each level unfolds in a small, arena-like battlefield where the original Borderlands vault hunters Brick, Lilith, Mordecai, and Roland are tasked with fending off hordes of ugly foes. Missions contain multiple, increasingly difficult levels, each with four waves of baddies to unload on.
More objective-based than story-driven, missions include a clear-cut goal; during my demo, for example, I was required to destroy three crates of Marcus bobbleheads a cool call-out fans will appreciate. While reducing the crates to rubble doesnt pose much of a problem, staying alive while attempting to do so is another story. Enemies approach from all sides and utilize different attack patterns. It isnt uncommon, say, to have Skags nipping at my heels even as Bandits pepper me from afar with bullets.
Thankfully, Legends evens the odds by putting players behind the ass-kicking arsenals of all four protagonists. Simultaneously controlling the quartet is a delicate balancing act favoring thoughtful strategy over ammo clip-emptying abandon. Characters fire weapons automatically, so its up to the player to ensure theyre in the right spot to get a bead on the bad guys. In terms of controls, this means tapping characters and drawing a destination path, or touching them and then the enemy the player wants them to focus on. Legends also encourages the use of cover, littering each level with waste-high defenses to hunker down behind.
As important as getting Pandoras most-wanted into proper position is knowing when to unleash their action skills and utilities. The former will be familiar to anyone whos previously painted Pandora in enemy entrails. Roland deploys his auto-turret, Mordecai conjures Bloodwing to do his bidding, Lilith Phasewalks, and Brick lets his fists fly. Because all four characters are filling the screen simultaneously, though, these table-turners can all be triggered together. Pulling this off is no easy task, as each action skill runs on a cool-down cycle. However, its worth carefully managing their meters just to witness Rolands turret and Mordecais angry bird transform battlefields into graveyards.
An additional strategic element is layered in via the aforementioned utilities. Each character possesses a specific one of these that can buff anothers performance. Roland, for example, can grant a teammate a health boost, while Mordecai can increase their damage output. Granting these utilities is as simple as tracing a line from one character to another. Of course, if all these enemy-thwarting tricks fail, theres still the second wind mechanic to fall back on. As with other Borderlands entries, this life-saving feature allows a character to return from the brink of death if they can score a kill before gasping their last breath.
While Legends strategic focus engages the mind more than the trigger finger, it doesnt abandon the series addiction-amping looting-and-leveling structure. Skill points are earned, characters level-up, and corpses are robbed, but everythings a bit more streamlined for this bite-sized Borderlands. Attributed points pave a path down skill trees, unlocking and upgrading new goodies as they go. Additionally, only money not guns can be looted from downed enemies; players are collecting coin for all characters, though, so theres always plenty to spend at Marcus vending machines on weapons and shields. My only real issue during my demo of Legends was the occasional chaos that clutters the screen. Controlling all four characters and their various skills and utilities while enemies rush from all sides is a bit overwhelming. That said, a 30-minute demo probably isnt nearly enough time to master the strategic nuances that could potentially complement, rather than confound, the experience. Still, I strongly recommend playing this one on an iPad, as I cant imagine Legends busy battlefields being anything but a blur on the iPhones comparatively tiny display. Small gripes aside, I generally had a finger-blistering blast with Legends and look forward to looting, leveling and letting loose on more waves of mutants and maniacs when the title lands next week.

Yeah, I wouldn't say it makes it pointless since the game is really fun, and playing friends and family is always more fun with things like this anyway, but win loss records would be nice.
You can actually so that in Punch Quest, blocking makes you stand still.
Borderlands sounds great, I'm surprised they didn't hype it up a little more or have it release on the same day as 2. Seems like a pretty big iOS game to pull a "Here it is, it's out next week."
I'm sure this is a recurring question in this thread, but I'm after some gaming recommendations for games to download for iOS. I'm 99% sure I'm going to pick up an iPad Mini, and gaming is one of the features I'm most interested in.
Obviously I know of stuff like Angry Birds and Cut the Rope, so I'm looking to avoid those sort of recommendations, but what are some of the other better games on iOS? Is there a particularly good resource for reviews or coverage of iOS stuff these days?

Edited my original post to confirm I'm open to any and all suggestions. Pretty much looking to try and get into some of the "best of" iOS to start with, if such a defined list of games even exists.
One thing I am interested in, is whether anyone here has any experience with The Walking Dead on iOS? I was going to wait for the PS3 retail version but am tempted to pick it up on my new mini once it arrives. Any glaring differences between the two versions?

Oh man, I'm having an intense game in Letterpress. The guy I'm playing gets 15-5 and I'm pushing it back to around 11-11 and he keeps getting words to go back. We've been doing this for the last ~10 turns. We're both keeping Z and X as unclaimed. The worst part is that the only vowels we have are 1 'I' and 1 'U' which really limits the words we can make
