I can't believe I got sucked into Tiny Tower. I am playing it at this moment in time for NO OTHER REASON than to do the maximum upgrades on my elevator. I don't even care to play the game after I get the super fastest version. That is beating the game for me. Yet, here I am, checking every hour on the hour to see if I need to restock.

Also, Zookeeper Battle is so legit right now. I love trying to complete the weekly tasks. Best feeling in the world is when you go into "Neo-mode" and your brain links with the game matrix, giving you like 300 attack points, and one rounding the unsuspecting opponent. The stupid decoration prizes for winning/ranking in the competitions are pretty cool, but I sure wish there was a way to change my animal avatar. I am a monkey. I don't like monkeys.

Really enjoying DoDonPachi Maximum on my iPad. Might be my favorite iOS Cave game.

I've unlocked 16/20 achievements so far...as well as the unlockable ships.

Love how simple it is. Just dodge/kill shit. No need to collect stupid bees, lol.

Also enjoying how each level has it's own score. Was able to get #9 place on one of the stages (4-A). Don't ask how, lol.

I came across this post on Touch Arcade by Pentarou that may help people with this game:

Type-A (Blissful Death's Type-A) only builds combo meter when you're hitting enemies with its central beam, and as SV said it's quite slow. The spread shot is nice for clearing the screen, but this can be quite difficult to combo with.

Delta Sword (Resurrection's Type-A) has an entire laser for a weapon; the combo meter builds about as fast as Type-A. The advantage of the laser is that you can strategically plan your movement to prevent the combo meter from decaying. The downside is actually that it's too strong at times and you can kill some enemies too quickly.

Tiger Schwert (Ketsui) has a nice weak spread shot that becomes a fairly strong homing weapon when locked on. To lock onto enemies just hit them with the central beam. Its central beam increases combo meter fairly quickly, but only traverses half the screen so keeping your meter up can be risky business against strong enemies and bosses.

Orchid (Akai Katana) has a weak central shot and an even weaker homing shot. None of its regular attacks increase your combo meter. However, as previously mentioned the small homing shot appears to keep the meter from decaying, and on top of this your bomb charges super fast.

Uoratou (Dangun Feveron/Uo Poko) has a fantastic spread shot that changes to a laser when you are stationary. Unfortunately, only the laser will increase combo meter, and it does so at a rate similar to the Delta Sword.

If anyone else would like to add to this, by all means, please do.

I have no idea how I'll get that 5000 chain achievement though...

What game is this? And is it iphone compatible?

It's Generations and i'm still working on it, I want to show off a video in action but need a new device to test out widescreen stuff fully before I go ahead, damn apple store here is constantly OOS and my phone contract will not be over until christmas to move on to an iphone 5 :(

Wish it was the iPad version too. This game is very fun.
It is, I just downloaded it. I'm going to have to cut myself off, got a crazy number of games in the last few days.

I'm super tempted to try to upgrade to a 32 GB, I was just saying a few pages ago that 16 is fine but after getting few magazine subscriptions (Wired, Edge, and The Daily) I'm eating crow. What's a fair price to ask for a WiFi, 16GB iPad 3? If I could get $450 for it I'd probably do it but that's probably asking way too much.

Really starting to feel DoDonPachi Maximum now. At first it didn't do much for me but now I'm loving it, it's up there with Resurrection for me. So good. I retract my earlier statements about it.

I see... that would explain why nothing came up when I searched Generations earlier. Looking forward to it! Is it a Metroidvania style game?

Guardian Cross is actually pretty fun so far
My invite code is PS59073

I like how they incorporate FFXI and FFVI character cards with invites. Not bad.

Also tried Age of Pinball today,
Pretty nice visuals, and its free, but I could only see one table available, and it throws "buy now" items at you from the get go. Maybe I'll try it again some other time.

Also...
In preparation for ACIII orgy, I tried the AC multiplayer game. It's top-down view which is ridiculous because you're expected to track down a target and not mistakenly take down a look alike. Problem is, since it's overhead view, you're going by tiny details, and on an iphone, its dumb. You'll chase around a man in a red hat and shoulders only to find its not the right person. Ugh. Deleted

Er, but the code I got was for iPhone/iPod?

Not universal, just HD. I bought the original one (Resurrection? Revolution?) then only a few months later they came out with a specific retina one. No free upgrade for existing users, no-sir.

What game are you talking about? The one he's asking about (Dodonpachi Maximum) is definitely universal. There are three Dodonpachis on the market. In release order:

Dodonpachi Resurrection: originally iPhone only, worked in iPad compatibility mode. Later received an "HD" version that was iPad 2 only; later patched to add support for iPhone 4.
Dodonpachi Blissful Death: remains iPhone only, works in iPad compatibility mode.
Dodonpachi Maximum: universal.

Hey guys, about Punch Quest, how the hell do you do a power slam ?
I have had this quest since forever and nothing I do with the controls seem to trigger it.

this should be the last.. and best version to get right?

Three different games. Blissful Death and Resurrection are the 3rd and 2nd newest of the arcade series (the newest, Saidaioujou, coming to 360 in Japan next year). Maximum is a unique entry designed for smartphones from the ground up (originally Windows Phone exclusive), borrowing much of its content from the rest of Cave's library.

I'm in the same boat. :/

Are you sure you have it equipped? Powerslamming is pretty basic. You dont need to be at the top of the jump at all. You just need to be in the air

LOL I get like the only Punch-Out vibes fighting this poor little guy.

I've been waiting ages for a sale too (yeah I'm a sucker like that), nothing wrong with you. :D It's also not everyone's genre.

It already went on sale once. It was free or 99c because I bought it and it was in my wishlist since forever. I don't remember when though.

According to appshopper, it's never been on sale... so you sure about that? :D

That's just from memory, never meant it was necessarily true. I THINK I bought it 99c but I could be wrong.

:lol. :D Appshopper is usually pretty accurate, so unless it was IAP pricing, I think your memory might be wrong... It says it's always been 2.99... also, I've had it in my wishlist FOREVER too, and I don't remember ever seeing it on sale cause I'd have surely bought it :x

After five months of ownership I ended up selling my 16GB iPad 2 Wi-Fi for $300 to get a 32GB iPad 3rd gen Wi-Fi when it came out. $450 is nowhere near realistic.

One warning regarding the "universal-ness" of Dodonpachi Maximum... It doesn't install on my iPod touch 5 (complains about lack of compass). Tried messing around for a few hours with editing the plist stuff and still can't get it installed on the iPod touch.

That said, played it on my iPad. Fantastic game that feels much simpler and let's me focus on just dodging bullets. I noticed parts of some levels seems to be from their other games. I think some others have noticed this as well. I prefer to think of DDPM as a collection of different parts of Cave's other games. ;-)

I got that Cthulu Saves the World game for 99c, it could be a great game but the controls are killing it for me. What were they thinking?! If this controlled like Mage Gauntlet it would so much better. As it is I'm not sure if I'll even bother playing it any further.

Yeah, I figured, guess I'll just have to deal. By the time the next model comes out I'll hopefully have a real job so I'll be able to go balls out and grab a 64GB model with 4G.

Did the latest update for Flick Kick Football mess up the framerate on the iPad with Retina Display? Seems so. :(

Hmmm could you email support at pikpok dot com with your device and OS details and let them know where you are seeing the issue.

Sure. I think it's chugging with the new high-res stadium, or maybe some service running in the background. I'll email support.

We've been doing everything we can, but right now it's totally out of our control. We want it back up too!

I didn't followed what happened back in the day (I had the game)...why has been taken down in first place?

Also....why why WHY weren't you in charge of Clash of Heroes for iPad!!! The game seems to be gone forgotten, Ubisoft is dead silent and nobody gives a damn!
Sigh.

So the new re-release of ZiGGURAT has a different leaderboard, right? I wonder if I should just suck it up and rebuy it just for it...ugh.

That one really is a shame. It would be such a perfect game to have a portable version of, plus it originated on DS so it already has touch controls and presumably should run fine on iOS devices. There could very easily be something I'm missing but it seems like it should have been a pretty easy port. Hopefully it comes out eventually.

Ziggurat seems decent so far. It's fun, but I'm pretty surprised at all the attention it got in the "Best of iOS" thread so far. I'll probably like it better when I have a better handle on the controls, based on the screenshots I was assuming that it'd be a simple "tap where you want to shoot" kind of thing, and at different points along the bottom of the screen for different angles isn't intuitive at all for me.

I picked up Cut the Rope too (last games I'll be purchasing for a week or two if I can control myself), it's a fun little game. I've played bits and pieces of it on friends' tablets and phones and hesitated getting it because for some reason I thought it was a simple kid's game (like Where's My Water, I don't understand the love for that game, cool concept but I played a bunch of levels of it on my dad's Kindle Fire and they were all stupid simple), but getting all three stars actually takes some doing on most levels.

surprise launch of the next galactic phantasy game tonight for a dollar!

First game was kinda like infinite space, but it seems like this is more your traditional space combat system.

Curious how iap ridden this is. Game looks butt gorgeous though.

Yeaaaah the first game was on sale last week because of this, I remember posting about it. I'm looking forward to it! Surprised it's only a dollar, now I'm scared of the IAP :/

I also bought it.

For me it's the tiny text size (on iPhone and Touch, not iPad) that's hurting the game more than the controls. So hard to read.
