I am totally grabbing this tonight. I try to make a list of developers to support, especially from GAF!

we appreciate that! thank you!

new updates are already planned. the first one will be mainly cosmetic (aside from adding achievments), but the next one is scheduled for 26thMarch and will include different Nosferatu types, new missions, perhaps GC tournaments (we have to take a look at this first, don't know if we can implement it the way we want to). :)

We should get a list of retina iPad games going. I've only heard of a handful in the past few days. Monsters Ate My Condo is definitely one I'll be checking out tomorrow.

Ok so I picked these up if anyone is interested. First 5 people to PM me an get them.

Yeah, and it's no longer 'HD', which is going to be weird for a lot of poorly titled apps. I'm not going to even bother with Cave games on anything but my iPod. I'm sure DDP HD will look horrendous on the new iPad. I'd love to be wrong....
Well that's what the lite versions are for. I'm thinking they might be ok looking just cause the source sprites are higher res and not tiny pixel tweaked versions so they should scale better if nothing else.
it doesn't necessarily need powerups, just looking for a good top down racer with or without weapons.
Mini Motor Racing is another one. I could never get a handle on any of the control options in Reckless Racing but the weird directional wheel thing in MMR worked pretty well for me once I got used to it (at first it was kind of "what the hell is this").
Regarding the comments about Universal, we definitely hear the feedback.

Any other questions about MotoHeroz, feel free to ask me or check our MotoHeroz iOS forum. Thanks!
Well I probably would've bought the HD version if it was universal, but instead I cheaped out and got the iPhone one. Same goes with Draw Race 2 for that matter.

Draw Something question - if I install it on my iPhone and my iPad, will my progress be synced across the devices (i.e. can I surreptitiously play at work on my phone -ahem- ... but still continue to play at home on my iPad?)

Real Racing 2 got retina update with 4xaa. Going to finally get it tomorrow and give it a shot.

Epic says IB2 retina update will be out soon. Wonder if it will be stable on the new iPad. I never bought it because of all the issues.

Yeah, I believe you have to create an account to play so all of your progress will be linked to that.

I picked up some Tetris codes. They might only work for the Canadian App Store... but here you go. Quote to reveal.

Please let others know if you have used them.

I used PEXY776RE4F4, this time for myself (after giving the one from Mike Works to Zzoram), thanks a lot! :)

Anyone with kids, nieces, or nephews who plays on an iPad?

I just got an iPad2 for my nephew who is around age 4, he is often sick and has to stay in bed rest a lot. I want to give him some distractions, what games are popular with kids these days?

Finally finished League of Evil last night with 3 stars and briefcases on all levels.

Felt like a fairly good achievement! Some of the impossible levels were pretty dang hard to 3 star!

Any tips for getting past those rotator things, especially those that are between a ceiling and a floor with no room to jump over?

i think the worst thing about the controls is the placement of the shoot button. i remember the controls in modern combat 1 being good. think it was like tap to shoot and it worked well.

Hi all,

iPod Touch 4 and iPad 1 owner here... been gaming on it off and on since Christmas 2010, and am making a conscious effort to really get into what unique experiences the platform offers. I've played most of the popular/mainstream stuff, as well as all the Cave shooters.

Right now I'm playing S:S&S and am really enjoying it. In Session III at the moment.

Are there other games that are as quirky and interesting as this one? Guess I'm interesting in adventure-style games or anything with a really unique aesthetic. This thread is vast, so I figure it'd be easier to just ask the question, get some responses, and get back to gaming. :)

Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately, Sword & Sworcery is a unique experience and there isn't anything like it right now. But as far as adventure games go, there are the first two Monkey Island games, the first two Broken Sword games, Machinarium, Puzzle Agent 1 and 2 are also pretty good but they're more like the Professor Layton games. If you're into visual novels there's also A Scar of the Doll.

Thanks! I suppose I'm most interested in games/experiences that are unique to iOS. I was looking at the voting thread from last year, and while it's cool that PvZ got top honors, it would have been really interesting to see a list that was limited to just iOS titles.

The Passenger, which is currently free, is rather gorgeous. I can't tell you much else, as I have grabbed it, but not got into it yet.

Jazz: Trump's Journey is rather an awesome, stylised platformer.

Obviously you need to time your jumps, jump on them right when they're moving into the area you need to land on.

With ones between the ceiling and floor make sure you utilise your attack move in the air.

So jump at the gap you want to go through (With timing of course), then press attack and your character will do a jump kick that goes directly sideways, it means you don't hit the roof and move through the swinging trajectory of the hammer.

Good luck :)

Tough call for a 4 year old. I'd say you're fine with Angry Birds and Peggle, to start. There are a ton of educational apps and books such as Berenstien Bears and Dr. Suess.

Spider The Secret of Bryce manor is EXACTLY what you are looking for. Get it.

I'm a Cave whore. I just bought Espgaluda2 HD and DDR HD even though I already own the original versions. I enjoy the games though so it is worth it to play with higher res on my 4S.

I'm just worried about what they're going to do if they decide to give Deathsmiles the HD treatment. I think I'd object greatly to having to grind all the drops in Smartphone mode again, especially after having grabbed the IAP equipment.

Sadly enough, that doesn't mean I won't buy it even if they do...

I'm not sure if it fits what you're looking for, but maybe give Incoboto a chance. It's a platformer/puzzle game which, despite the dubious controls, leaves a lasting impression(or at least it feels like it will. The game is not that old). You explore the remains of a dead universe with a sun as your companion and.. Well, maybe I shouldn't say too much. It's just strangely evocative and certainly worth supporting. Despite the aforementioned controls.

King of Dragon Pass might not be a bad choice either:

I keep editing because I keep remembering more recommendations. Recently Waking Mars was released and though I've only played it a little it seems to fit the bill:

Like Incoboto there are some control issues.

Still have them? Also, so Lumines on iPad is bad? Sad. I want it.

EDIT: OH GOD I WATCHED THAT VIDEO. NOPE. PORT THE VITA GAME. PLZ.

Incoboto is the perfect game for you. Unfortunately it does not support the original iPad. Whenever you upgrade I highly recommend you buy this game. TouchArcade just did their review of it: http://toucharcade.com/2012/03/15/incoboto-review/

edit: I did not find the controls in Incoboto to be much of an issue. There was a spot or two where I had some trouble but overall I didn't think they were a problem.

How long is Modern Combat 3 going to be on sale? Hoping freemyapps will have a credit drop on it since they did for TinTin and GTA last time they were $.99.

It's a fucking dollar.

And I might as well use my stack of credit while its there. I'll buy it if its not but since I'm sitting on a ton of credit I will wait to see if they drop the credits. Also again I don't care if its a dollar or not I'll save when I can even on free credit from freemyapps. I buy too many games as it is and saving money when I can just means I can buy more games I want rather than buying everything in sight just because they're super cheap.
