The King of Fighters XIII- New gameplay trailer

Day one. Please don't have shitty net code. :(

Having played the arcade version it's like drugs and easily my favorite new fighter of this entire console generation.

kim has an air super he couldn't do in arcade version so confirmation of rebalancing, since that by all means an improvement for him. Even if it isn't rank changing there may be other things they changed.

I don't like how "Holiday 2011" basically means "Holiday season" aka Xmas as far as I'm concerned.

The official site say October though.
Amazon lists the release date as late October.

That's kinda wierd since i believe he has been able to do that super in the air for like...forever.

Nice to see my "YAMAZAKI PLEASE" getting some love.

I'm not a fan either, but we can't risk offending anyone!

I love to be a douche and just pretend it's coming out at whatever the next calendar holiday is - and tell that to people. So it could be Labor Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Halloween, Sweetest Day -- Holiday is so deliciously vague. :3

Again: Odd to showcase a team based game with Single Mode footage but it looks damn amazing.
And YAY! for rebalancing!!

Screw your Yamazaki, where's my Mary?!?!

It's going to have shitty netcode, not going to fool myself on this one. Which means it'll get barely any playtime from me.

Just give it to me now!
And please not have bad netcode though it probably will and i will end up hardly playing it as a result but i will buy regardless. SNK needs all the support it can get right now, and Atlus for bringing it over.

And still no announcement for Europe? Or will it be regionfree ( I guess not)?
PS3 games are region free: You can play a JPN PS3 game on a US PS3 with no problems at all.
It's the 360 that isn't region free ^_^;

Japanese 360 KoFXII was region free, so I hope this one will be as well.

I'm a bit concerned about the DLC, tho.

No announcement yet no. I'm getting the US PS3 version just to be on the safe side. If it does get released in Europe or is region free I may also double dip eventually.
Edit: Though i suspect that it will get a European release eventually probably by Zen United. Though it will be too late for my fancy.

That's why I was asking. Zen United was pretty fast with BB:CS and Arcana Heart 3. But both are made by ASW and as far as I know they only have a deal with them.

Wat

So how noob friendly is this game? I've always liked fighters and I remember playing either '94 or '96, but I only stopped button mashing in 2D fighters with SSFIV.
By noob I mean I can perform most moves and know nothing more about the game system.

Main reason I want this is because it looks so hot graphics-wise
even though I still prefer Capcom's shading but we'll never see that.

Yeah and if how long BB:CT took is any indication they seem to take their time when it comes to these deals.

KOFXII had pretty bad netcode, hoping it won't be the case with this one though it probably will be. I don't have many people willing to play this game locally so I need good netcode to play competitively, will buy regardless though because i love KOF however. To the second point:
I live in Europe and it currently has no publisher there to my knowledge so I'll import it from the US just to be on the safe side in case it becomes a BB:CT scenario and we wait several months for it. If it does get released in Europe though and we get a cool limited edition i might as well as double dip on the game.
Hope that helps clear things up. :)

Ideally, I'm hoping that there is an "Arranged" mode (much like XI or "X-Eye", as they called in the stream! :lol), just so that people who want their damned "arcade perfection" will be happy too.

But yeah, so far, so good. Beyond Yamazaki, I would love to see the "MOTW" team (Jenet, Gato, Tizoc) return. Especially Tizoc, he's one of my faves.

If you can play SF4, you can play KOF. It's faster and you may have trouble getting your head wrapped around the multiple jumps, but that's pretty much it. It's not MVC/BB insane, so you can play it like SF4 just fine.

It'd be nice if they just included the ability to play any "revision" of the game you wanted, with only the game-breaking stuff removed (like the "handcuffs" glitches). Make the most recent one default for ranked matches, but let people enjoy their stupid EX glitches and unpatched infinites if they so desire.

And for the love of goodness, if they do this, INCLUDE IN GAME DOCUMENTATION that list the changes in each revision. It's really not run depending on the internet to know what a game's patches/revisions meant.

I've been in the KOFXIII thread a few times and am happy to see that people's call for a rebalance has been met, go devs!

Game looks slick, I skipped XII but loved XI, one of the best KoF's. You have my sword, SNK.

I really don't like those flashy one command combos the series is going for, But I haven't played them deeply enough to appreciate its importance. Guess there is one way to find out. I have to play them.

Oh nice, thanks.

Well the situation with CT: ASW back then where looking for a new publisher in Europe as the former took very long to publish ASW games over here and Zen United was very new. But Zen United takes this very serious and SNK/P should give them a call as fast as possible.

If you can do the basic combos in SF4, then XIII's combos won't be a problem.
Even the more advanced combos can be learned with ease if practice enough.
Heck KoF XIII's combo system LETS you do damage so long as you have enough super (bottom gauage) and HD/CC/Green gauge (2 stocks only) to spare.

But still KoF is fast-paced while sf is footsies. I'm pretty sure many Sf-Guys still won't like it. But it's easier to get in as let's say BB or GG.

I think that will largely depend on just what type of SF-guy you are.

If you're a newbie who just came on board through the SF4-generation, or a veteran who prefers 3S, you may not care for KOF's more frenetic pace. But I'd like to think that anybody who dug the Alpha games, or even better, CvS2, will probably be able to adapt better to a game like this.

Ah, that's why my SFIV loving friend didn't care for Alpha 2!
