I guess US & Canada are never getting a Blu-ray release of the first season which is very disappointing.
Great news. Watch everyone. It's good. The first season is now on Netflix!
The first season is now on Netflix!
What? It was a Netflix co-production with BBC... it was always on Netflix.
BBC is still running the show - sounds like it's just Netflix dealing with US distribution instead of BBCA.
I doubt the budget for S2 will change much since they're already underway, but at least Netflix is more likely to green light future seasons given how much money they're throwing around these days.
Thanks. Updated the thread title. The first season is now on Netflix!
Yes. They were just about to start shooting S2 when the deal was brokered, so I think everyone should be the same aside from regular S1 -> S2 turnover that would've happened anyway. So it's the same showrunner/directors/writers, right?
Great show. When is season 2 scheduled to come out?
Damn, I saw the thread bump and got excited. Back to patiently waiting.
is schedule next year, later or earlier in the year?
I have been listening audiobook of the book 3 of the series, I think the writing is a lot better than the show. The "Medieval porn" aspects of the book is also a lot better.
Uhtred is unbearably dumb.
They just wrapped filming a few weeks ago, so it'll be a while. I'd guess late Spring or Summer?I look forward to seeing season 2 on Netflix soon. When does it air?

Finally!
I'm on book 4 as well.
They're a blast aren't they? Guess this season will have the be about Guthred and his time with Uthred

Just finished Vikings Season 4.
How does this show compare? Better characters? Script?
And I think it's worse in every way. I've never seen a show more desperate to rush through the plot. No scene or plotline is ever allowed to settle and sink in. It's not high pace and action-filled, it's shallow.Better in every way, though Ragnar is incredible in a way Uhtred kind of isn't.

While I'm not the biggest fan of guthred his plot leads to a lot of badass action. I'm hoping they'll skip over theEh..., has to
While I'm not the biggest fan of guthred his plot leads to a lot of badass action. I'm hoping they'll skip over thebit tho. It's a cool story and def leads to some important stuff down the line but I feel like it would be too much to cover in a single season without taking away from other more exciting plot linesuthred getting sold into slavery
Edit: much more realistic and far better acting than Vikings and I say that as a fan
