Its the quality of what is on show and the combination of graphics, innovative gameplay and storyline and how they come together. Everything screams quality from the animations to the lighting to the gameplay enhancements. This is why people need a ps4 and ps5.
Nothing I haven’t seen for hours in Death Stranding or RDR2. I’ll argue that those 2 impress me more in all those areas except obviously storyline which I can’t judge. Now we’re speaking of outstanding games, and TLOU2 comes close (you would hope so after 5 years of development and all that crunch) but some people feel they must overhype it because it’s a naughty dog game.

The like/dislike ratio will have zero impact on sales. Not even worth considering. Don't question why they're disabled. It means nothing.

But at the same time Sony do want their videos on YouTube to perform well. They want in that recommendation algorithm. That's important & so they have to take action & disable the like/dislike ratio. It makes perfect sense.

But these two things are in no way connected to each other. The like/dislike ratio of a game's YouTube video has no relation to it's sales in the real world. They're totally separate & this is why they have to disable the like/dislike ratio but it doesn't matter.

I dunno man. This kind of sounds like you just want to have your cake & eat it too.

I don´t know how to respond to this. I tried to explain to you how things work. Looks like that didn´t work

No, it’s just a game deserving of the hype because of the care they put into it. I actually don’t think its been hyped enough by Sony. We don’t really get that many top quality games over the year, ones which are a step above others and should rejoice such moments. Ghost of tsushima looks nearly on par quality wise and will be another top sony exclusive. They really have an amazing bunch of exclusive franchises and there will be sequels to most of them next generation. Sony may not have the most powerful hardware, but they have the exclusives and dedication to make their games look and feel better than the competition. I can guarantee sony exclusives will be the best looking games next generation, which is all that matters. No point having the tools and not using them...

Fair point, although jon snow as usual know nothing about mainly haircuts :ROFLMAO:
but she still looks like a girl to me, you really need to do some mental gymnastic to think that she is a boy.

The bitch on gears 5 looks more like a boy than ellie and nobody had a problem with that.

She has the appearence of a tomboyish alternative/indie style lesbian.

Cuckmann designs his characters in a way that they are eye candy for the Feminist/SJW crowd such as himself.

Nadine and the character that can’t be mentioned here are other great examples of that type of design that makes SJW salivate.

Tlou2 rape DS in terms of animations.
Killing\death animation in that game are literally a gen behind tlou2, both for melee and ranged kills, ds looks almost comical in comparison especially when both games aim to hyper realism.

I mean you are maybe right, but she doesn't look like a boy.
Maybe a skinny, non-overly sexy girl, but still a girl.

Historically ND games have made all the games that had come before them look dated and pretty much run away with the game of the generation title. This is the first time that it won't be the case but I don't expect the hype to reflect it.
As for Sony's exclusives, we're really only speaking about 2-3 studios here. ND, SSM and recently Guerilla. Are they the best in the business IN THEIR GENRES? yes. They dont' make racing games or first person shooters and if they did they wouldn't be. MS has made the bet that the formula for getting the same output as those studios can be replicated (time, money, talent). Time will tell if they're right.

DS is overall better looking, no doubt for me but it's just my opinion. TLOU2 would have been on par without the visual downgrades that occured since their first E3 reveal. Funny how nobody mentions that.

Yeah there is a downgrade in how godly chained were the animation in that reveal, but for the graphics itself, i wait to see the same exact area we saw in the reveal before talking aboit downgrade, lights conditions etc influence a lot how a scene can look.

And i was talking about animations, combat animations in ds are acceptable at best, tlou2 is literally a gen ahead.

But i'm a little biased, i played and liked ds for 40 hours but for me it is not better looking than horizon, forza horizon 4, rdr2 or even days gone, only some of the characters look incredibles and maybe some ambiental textures like some rocks, overall i'm not really a fan of how that games looks (of course it looks great, dont get me wrong)

Again have to agree on all points. DS looks incredible but also hard to compare to TLOU 2. TLOU 2 has a much bigger variety of textures and overall locations. Animations come nowhere near ND. I mean just look at how Sam moves in those "boss fights". It feels like you arre controlling a mini fridge. TLOU2 will set a new bar for visual fidelity and animations. I´ts just what ND does. Every time.

Well I'm just a regular dumbass nobody. I know nothing about advertising & marketing techniques.

But it seems to me that if a product performs poorly in marketing, if there's negativity coming from somewhere which could catch the attention of potential buyers of said product, that the company selling the product would probably take note & take action.

Like if footage from a game leaked & was met with overwhelming negativity online. The company selling the game might want to hide all traces of that negativity from potential customers. They might strike down every YouTube video that even mentions a hint of the leak, to stop people from possibly learning about it & also reacting negatively. They might disable all comments & like/dislike ratios on their official YouTube videos, to hide any hint of negativity towards the product that they want to sell.

A company might do these things because they have a product to sell & they don't want any potential customers to see anything negative related to their product. Because that could, conceivably impact sales & the amount of profit the company could make.

That all makes sense to me. But like I said, I'm not speaking from a position of authority with this stuff. I'm happy to learn better, if I'm wrong.

If your assumption is correct, then why is it just YouTube specifically ?

As someone who didn't like the first one enough to play through it I have to say they're selling the new one very well with these trailers. If I knew I wouldn't pissed off at the narrative & game design disconnect from the story, I'd totally get it. It's a shame, but at the end of the day I'm not looking to drink soy lattes. It is what it is.

Believe it or not youtube is not only places this video is published Facebook allows to deative comments but their still allowed for example...

On the official Facebook page for this video, comments & likes are allowed? People are freely discussing the game?

I'm not on Facebook & don't know how it works.

Lol I was skipping through the video watching bits here and there and my gf walked past and asked who is this skinny teenage boy, why aren't we playing Ellie? :messenger_tears_of_joy::messenger_tears_of_joy::messenger_tears_of_joy:

Also Imagine you're supposedly hallmark game is so poorly received you had to disable comments and the like/dislikes every time you try and show it off :messenger_tears_of_joy::messenger_tears_of_joy::messenger_tears_of_joy:

Clown world my friends, clown world.

You legit scared.

Shes based on Ellen Page since day one.

The amount of salt I see is at a astronomical level. Theres a large amount of people who apprently have no interest in the game, but are putting in the work to say the game isnt impressive.

My only issue is if I should play this on PS5.

You sure have valid points. But the thing you are missing out here in this particular case is your perceived negative reaction and the actual world of potential buyers. The negative Feedback you saw is a very specific demographic target group. These people only make a fraction of the actual sales. The majority of people still love the franchise probably haven´t even seen the leaks and are still going to buy the game.

That being said, of course, Sony and ND are in damage control. You would be too. And the problem that all the right-wing crazies people are feeling attacked with the subject mentioned in the leaks is not helping either. Sony is in a rough place currently. No matter what they will say or do, the downvote brigade is out in full force and they won´t stop. So as a company, you take action. Yout could try and argue with sense with these people. But we all know this will not work. So you take the next step. Closing down comments is a no brainer for me. Nobody needs that vile shit + people gonna get spoiled.

Regarding the likes. As I mentioned before we are talking not just about this video. But the whole channel. If you have heavily downvoted videos as a channel, this will affect the performance overall so that your stuff won´t get recommended and so on. It´s damage control and responsible handling of your own channels and is the way to go. At least that's what I would recommend to my clients in such a scenario.

You’re aware that a remastered version came out and that it can be played on the pro right?

I'm aware since I own it. TLOU remastered is a PS3 port with increased resolution and better frame rate. Nothing else changed. It's a game that was designed for a system with 512 MB total memory and a 400 GFLOP GPU. To believe that ND could make a sequel to their game that came out like 7 years ago on vastly more powerful system and only have "slightly cleaner graphics" means something is definitely wrong with your eyesight.

I'm not sure if they are gonna surpass rdr2 globally, but probably top 3 on console for this gen most surely.

I really like the water and the reflections (and the wet effect on the backpack)

Really well done, even on the bow.

After 3+ pages I see some posters bit on obvious bait. Once you give them attention by quoting them, they won. The exercise is futile. Don't engage lol.

This will leak here in NY to mom n pops joints 2 weeks prior no ifs or butts 😋🤤👼

I'm stuck with digital. You lucky.

Either that or you're a plastic defense warrior personally offended by an honest opinion. It's not like you are presenting any evidence to support your opinion or hold any ophthalmology credentials but I could be mistaken.

I’m playing through TLOU and Left Behind to prepare for this

Is there any chance my Amazon pre-order will arrive early (meaning that Monday instead of Tuesday)?

I know; “What’s one more day, eiknarf!?”

We’ve been waiting since Valentine’s Day when it was originally supposed to launch! Kinda tired of waiting hahaha

Ok I think I see now. You're talking about the overall performance of the whole PlayStation YouTube channel & how all the individual like/dislike ratios of individual videos adds up over time? I was talking specifically about the reception of TLoU videos & how they work as a part of the advertising for the game.

I think I see where you're coming from though. It still seems to me that these two things are connected, under the same umbrella so to speak, but I think I see how it's possible to consider them separately as well.

Ok first of all Kojima Prods is not a Sony 1st party studio. The sense of entitlement of certain Sony fans is really something to behold.
Isomniac, Polyphony Digital and Sucker Punch are not in the same category as ND, SSM and Guerrilla. This is an objective statement based on the critical acclaim of their most recent output and just general appreciation in the industry. MS wouldn't have a first party problem if they only had those 3 studios to beat.

Those graphics look amazing for a PS4. Also impressed by the narrative focus during gameplay.

But the stealth focussed combat doesn't appeal to me. I usually don't play shooters anyway. Probably a skip.

To be perfectly honest, there was some scenes where the stream didn't looked too hot, some ambiental textures, some indoors details etc.

But i think it's mostly a problem of how much shitty quality was the original stream, the 4k video is already a lot better and it's still far from the perfect IQ we are gonna have on our good oled tv.

You can make every game looking far worse with yt compression.

It was the same with tsusihima state of play, when i saw the original stream i was " wtf is this blurry shit" but then i watched the (still compressed) 4k version and it was a lot better.

Yes, exactly that's what I was trying to explain. Sorry, English is not my first language. I would suggest turning off the likes and comments for the sake of the channels performance.

Regarding the importance of YouTube videos for marketing purposes: They are important. But in this particular case, the numbers would not represent the actual overall perception of the game as it is heavily manipulated by downvote brigades. The last of us is a brand name and Sony will blow out its marketing dollars to make sure this game will be seeen everywhere. It is simply to big to fail related to anger from SJW opponents. It´s not important enough for the rest of the world.

Ultimately in retrospect, this will be irrelevant I believe. The sales and the reviews will do the game i´ts justice though. But thats just my personal opinion

Edit: sorry I missed your facebook question: No, Facebook is a little bit different in this regard. As a page owner all you want is engagement /interactions. This will push the FB algorithm and create organic reach (the most valuable KPI). So even negative feedback or likes is positive for the performance of your fan page.

but holly shit if you have to play a lesbian. This is where you drew the line??!?!?! Fuck of!! We live in 2020. You don´t want to see girls kissing? Fine... don´t buy this game!!! Nobody is pressuring you into buying it. I´ts not ND bringing an Agenda it´s your insane fragile masculinity and borderline retarded life views that can´t cope with the sexuality of other human beings.

Years ago Druckman did state that he had a hidden agenda that's not so hidden any more. Straight from the horse's mouth.

This game is looking good have to say. Will wait from impressions from regular Joe's before jumping in though. Good graphics/animation alone don't a good game make.
