'The Last of Us: Remastered' coming to PS4, July 2014, [1080p, targeting 60 fps]

You don't think what? That they have 1080p/60fps cutscenes? They do.

And it will ship on one blu ray, they'll just compress it till it does. TLoU was only 26gb, yeah, it'll have some higher res assets, but it's not some insane jump.

Sorry i quoted the wrong guy :(

I don't believe them but we can always believe right?

Same day that Amazon Spain changed the date to 13th June.

I have more hype for this than I've had for any PS4 game so far.

And I'm also kind of glad that I skipped out on the season pass for TLoU, because I'll be getting new bits with it, so there's more than the increased fidelity to look forward to!

But let's be honest. I would have bought TLoU Remastered for 60 bucks on day 1 even if it came with pure vanilla content. I fucking love TLoU.

How much do they need to show? It's a 1080p port job, you know what it's going to look like. I don't see why we need a big lead up to this.

If this was just a 1080p port job, Naughty Dog wouldn't be the developer. I think the attention to detail will be much greater than some of us are expecting.

Lol it wont be released in June...they barely shown anything yet. It was a premature announcement. It will be a fall title

Don't be negative without a reason.
They don't have to show anything about the game, it's already well known, they just have to release a trailer showcasing the technical improvements and the release date.
Tomb Raider Definitive Edition was announced in December and released in January.

So do I have to preorder it on psn to get all of the bonus stuff or can I just purchase it on psn after it releases to get all of the bonuses ?

it's ok, you're all right now

Nah, the engine runs on PC, they likely built the game targeting a 4GB PC platform. It probably won't be as detailed as UC4, but at minimum it should have better textures and more detailed models.

It's a chance for ND to get their engine up and running on PS4 and work the kinks out in the process so to speak. I'm not expecting any more than we got with Tomb Raider: DE.

13th of June? So soon? I'd love if it were true, but somehow I doubt it.

Especially since all we have seen is a 5 second clip.

I doubt this. Even the best looking and sounding of PC games wouldn't even fill a blu-ray disc. They have to be doing something like uncompressed sound or leigons of pre-rendered cinematics for it to fill an entire blu-ray.

There are PS3 games that were close to 50GB storage limit. Uncharted 3 was 43.5GB in size. Remember, the PS3 often had multiple languages and LCPM audio, which ate up a huge amount of space.

TLoU on PS3 was 26GB, so unless they've improved the textures massively, I can't see how they could double the space required.

Edit: just realised that the PS4 version is going to contain the DLC, so that would bump up the size.

Was that supposed to be in the game?

IT doesn't look like anything encountered in my playthrough.

I would've loved if this was in the final game. Have it make squishy wet noises when it moves and have it screech through various holes on its body. Maybe it can grab you with tendrils or something. That would be awesome.

Uncharted 3 doubled up on video because of the stereo3D support.

Pretty much. I'd be surprised if we see even TR level of improvements to be honest. I think this port is more for people that bought a PS4 and didn't have a PS3 than it is for people that already played the game. As someone who already owns the game and the season pass on the PS3, the thought of spending another $60 to get little more than a framerate and resolution boost is kind of insane to me. These remastered games at $60 are great for people that never played them, but a huge rip off for people that already own them. This game should have had a $10-$15 upgrade path.

What date is E3? If they're holding that announcement for around that time, I'm sure it will excite a ton of people if they say available NOW or a week from now.

why people keep throwing this word around? rip off is when you're forced to pay for something you don't agree against your will, nobody is forcing anyone to buy the game again, if you ended up paying 60 a second time it means that you enjoyed and loved the game so much you put money on it once more, it was your decision, not a rip off

Yeah, that is a really weird way of looking at it. Rip off? A rip off would be charging $60 for it and not having the full game.

As someone who played it on PS3 with a season pass, the idea of playing the Greatest Game of All Time in glorious 1080p 60fps gets me wet.

"Hey guys, what do we so people know that this gorgeous art is from TLOU?"

"FUCKING PLASTER THE NAME ON THE CONSOLE... Twice"

Seriously, would want it if it were just the art, but the name are deal breakers.

Sony conference is June 9th @ 6 PM PDT. I would like this too. I just hope that it isn't their only surprise at E3..

Not sure if I should wait and see if they allow PS3 users to upgrade or if I should take the $30 trade in credit at Target and put it towards the PS4 edition.
