JESUS FUCKING CHRIST!
This game has the most shocking, sad, and greatest intro level I have ever played.
Fuck.
Yup, welcome Raptor, I wholeheartedly agree.

It's pretty much a wall hack and takes away suspense. It's interesting not knowing what's coming up ahead and tackling each area with caution. For that are playing with Listening Mode set to "off," what is the reasoning? The extra challenge? I didn't see a trophy explicitly tied to that setting.
It was at the part where. It was very choppy, but I haven't had any problems since then so it could of been an anomaly. It could of also been my PS4, but it would be the first problem it has ever had.a solider shoots Sarah and she dies in Joel's arms.
Aight, where is that from? lool
This is the order I cleared that section :
Take out the runner that walks through that back room in the hallway where you start first. Then the 2nd runner that's "patrolling" around the clicker. Those two runners are what made that part so difficult for me, after I downed them the rest of the area was a piece of cake. Finished up by taking a brick to the clicker's face. This section and the next in theare fucking tense on Survivor without listen mode.pitch-black area full of clickers
Do the clickers remind anyone of the raptors in jurassic park? Or is it just me?
I've used (and preferred) the new PS4 triggers in every game...until now. Played for a bit last night and it just didn't feel right. The aiming and shooting actually feels fine, but I just can't get used to the 'run' button being 'L1.' Doesn't feel as natural to me for some reason. I'll probably end up switching to the old control scheme.I want to use the new triggers but am worried I'll get confused after playing so much of this game over the past year. Curious to hear impressions of those who have it.
Even if you don't want to give the new "grounded" difficulty a try, I highly recommend playing on survivor. I've played through the game multiple times and I'm convinced it's the definitive way to play the game.I think going Normal was a huge mistake. I thought I'd be terrified of "zombies" (or whatever they are) in this game but as it turns out I feel like Batman. The fact that I can see through walls... ugh. Removes a lot of the tension.
That being said, the presentation is amazing and the characters are interesting so far.

This is so me! MuhahahahaHow to deal with clickers:
Alert them all from another room.
Throw molotov outside of door.
Watch them run through the fire and burn.
You need to use a Shiv to stealth kill a Clicker with the Triangle prompt. The same Shivs that you usegame tells me to hold in L3 to sneak without alerting clicker, clicker hears me anyway. get the prompt to triangle kill them? randomly doesnt work.
Was the game still installing ?
Seem like games have problems when you play them while they still installing sometimes.
Quick question, a wonderful GAFer gifted me this game since I have not played it yet. Is beginning toddler friendly? Im going to start tonight, but want to know if its ok for my 4 year old see watch the start or not. I know it gets quite graphic later, but I have no idea about the beginning. Thanks.
not a bad game but dont get all the 10/10's
environments are a mixed bag, a lot look really blocky and undetailed (though they did a fantastic job on the characters and achieving 1080p 60 fps)

I dont have enough bullets becase I couldnt store man than 14 bullets for my revolver in my giant backpack?
I'm so frustrated with the clicker gameplay. This is like a 60fps 1080p version of condemned (which I loved) so its so disappointing to find the clicker sections a complete chore to play through.

L3 is Photo Mode... I don't think it told you to use Photo Mode to sneak past Clickers.

I played a little bit via remote play last night and aiming and shooting is mapped to the rear-touch panel??? dafuq??!
I don't want to return the copy I have on me now. Just want to know if I could return the gamestop copy at Fry's.
I'm about to open this copy now and play it. Never played this game before. I heard that Hard mode with listen mode turned off is the best way to play it.
You don't hold down L3. You walk slowly while crouched (O) by lightly tilting R3.
Gonna say you should do Normal. I am a veteran of gaming myself and I had a blast on Normal for my first time and I felt plenty challenged.I'm not sure whether to play it on normal or hard. This will be my first play through. I have a lot of experience with 3rd person games, I just don't want it to be too tough on my first go, because hopefully I'll be motivated to finish this multiple times.

Bought it (again). DAT 60fps.
But ND really needs just adjust the difficulty levels. It is easier on PS4 (due to better fps and a superior controller) but the game really is hard as fuck sometimes, yes even on Easy.
This is another Jak II (which was über hard sometimes).
With the range the game has (Easy to grounded or whatever it is called) there should be no reason for easy being as hard as it can be.

Yeah it seems you have to approach them from behind, they detect you even in crouch L3 from the front, but they dont from the rear WHICH MAKES NO SENSE since they are sound based and cannot see.
oh fail on my part then, they needed to re-show that tip then because by getting that tip wrong, I replayed like 30 times until you mentioned this
That opening gets me every time. Every. Single. Time.
What? You serious?
It's also important not to forget the.Note with the safe combo on it, and the safe itself, of course
That's not the case. Clickers detect sound. You have to crouch walk slowly. If you crouch walk at full speed they will still your footsteps.

Only complain I have about this remaster is the antialiasing, it could have been better, it's so weird, sometimes it works impressively well but other times is like there's not AA at all, everything else is phenomenal
Don't think so IMO , on easy the game is very easy to beat .
Th amount of supplies you have is crazy and you can just beat everyone to death lol .

Made it a decent bit last night, getting to theand I realize that hard hasn't been overly hard. I've only died once and that was with the first actual clicker combat in the tower where you have to "clear the way" for the group. I've always had issues with that one anyway.Capitol Building
The game is just as good as I remember. The only complaints I got right now are there are still some lingering bugs and that the cut scenes look weird at 60fps. It's like it's too smooth for me coming from the original. I'll cope because everything is so buttery smooth during gameplay as well.
I'll add a few shots later tonight that I still need to transfer over from my PS4. I spent a bit too much time messing with DoF and some of the filters. Still need a good shot or two to go along with the photo booth overlays.
