The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild |OT3| Your Free Time is Badly Damaged

It's not there in pro mode though. Not even on a slate menu.
I wish there was a way to check the time of day without changing the HUD mode. I mean they could have showed it in one of the inventory screens so I can easily access it with one button press, but no I have to go to system, options, change HUD, go back in game to check the time, then repeat all the steps again to get my Pro HUD back.

Look at your map? It's always there even in Pro mode.

I do check time on that map quite a bit.

I wish there was better integration of time and weather though. The temp is only relevant if it affects your gear, and the animations will tell you quickly whether it's too hot or too cold.

I'd like a fast toggle between regular and pro - hold two buttons to see regular or something like that.

Wait wtf? I don't think I have all those?

I didn't beat the game yet though. I'm pretty sure I don't have that completion amount.

yea completion is a post-ganon thing but otherwise the rest is always there.

Never noticed it in my 200+ hours of play, lol

Is it always in 24hr format? Isn't the HUD clock in AM/PM format? That's probably what threw me off. I probably saw it early on, didn't know what those numbers meant and never looked at them again.

I'm a filthy European. :D

Finally finished it. All shrines, all memories, nearly every side quest, and a bunch of maxed out armor. It's amazing and I can't wait to play the story DLC.

The temp is relevant for more things than that:
* It's cooler in the shadows, which is used in at least one side quest.
* Food get frozen and cooked in very cold or hot areas.

After all these months, I finally beat the game. Ganon was easy af but the atmosphere during the end game gave me chills. Amazing music and everything.

I wish the ending wasnt so short but Im excited for DLC part 2 later this year.

Definitely the best game I have ever played. Truly a masterpiece.

I just bought a Switch and BOTW. Will be start playing this on Monday when my stuff arrives.

What the optimal upgrade path for Spirit Orb distribution?

From what I understand you have 3 + 4 hearts naturally from starting the game and doing the 4 dungeons, and the rest are gained from Shrine upgrades.

It's not possible to max Hearts and Stamina. I guess Stamina is more important than Hearts early on so you can climb and fly more?

You should aim to get 2 full circles of stamina asap. Cooking food that boosts your hearts is super easy.

Early in the game I made something like a 24+ heart meal, lol. A bit ridiculous.

Was that meal cooked during blood moon, or in a regular cooked meal? It sounds like those hearty ingredients would be pretty rare early in the game game? For me at least, it was always much easier to find good stamina ingredients.

You're overthinking this. You can swap them (redistribute orbs) at any point (for a small fee) once you find a certain ...location.

Hearty radishes are common everywhere. Just make sure you cook five at a time. Blood moon only ads one heart

Got the game a couple of days ago but I'm not sure if I'm feeling it yet. The mechanics are sublime but there seems no urgency to the game at all. Running through vast grass fields bores me (to the point where I'm listening to podcasts while playing it) and I just don't know how to motivate myself? I feel like I don't care about the exploration aspect at all, I just want the game to be fun all the time. I'm honestly not even sure why I should boot up the game at this point.

Question, the areas that divine beast are not located, does story guide you to these locations or just pretty much for exploration, should I explore those first?

Buys a game that is widely known to be an exploration game first and foremost. Says he/she doesn't care about exploration, and wonders why the game isn't fun.

You bought the wrong game.

could you rephrase that question? your sentence is incredibly hard to follow.

the story tells you where the general beast locations are. that's all I can answer for you.

Then don't run through fields. Get a horse. Warp to a shrine, climb a tower, do the story quests, turn on the shrine sensor and get to shrining. Do stuff.

I think he's asking if the game will point him to go to all the areas where there aren't Divine beasts, and if so whether he should wait until he recieves those prompts or if he should take the initiative and explore those areas without a "preset objective".

Answer: it's up to you. There are Shrines and korok seeds everywhere, so that's one reason to explore all areas (so you can upgrade your hearts, stamina, inventory, and find weapons and loot). But many side quests will also point you to various areas, so it's a mix of both.

Yea sorry, was trying to explain this way, Im not crazy about exploring, I like a bit of direction, if theres a mission in that area I will explore that area, seems like this game just wants you to go anywhere at any time, guess I will be playing like this, not a bad thing but I feel like I wont be seeing everything because the world is just so large.

It's an RPG, you talk to people, they give you side quests that send you around the world. Some of them are not explicit side quests, just "I heard there's something up there etc" and you have to piece it together yourself. You just have to pay attention to what the NPCs tell you. You can get your direction if you want them. But there's no magic marker leading you by the hand at all times to see the cool stuff.

I'm sucking so badly on this Zora boss. Why is it such a pain to restock om Shock Arrows on this game 🤔
Go to the desert or Necluda regions and you can get hundreds farming lizalfos. Some drop multiple x5 bundles. They are the most common arrow type in my experience.

I just finished Ruta. I thought the puzzles were a bit more involved than with Medoh, but it's still just one big room. And again a death barrier forms around the outside once you enter, so Link drowns on contact with the water. The boss was more interesting here than when I fought him at the castle. I don't think he ever had a chance to shoot ice blocks when I fought him in the sanctum. Still incredibly easy with a 49x3 bow and 150+ shock arrows.

The cutscene direction in BotW feels more mature than in any past Zelda game. It's all in keeping with the Miyazaki-esque style. I continue to be impressed by how confidently directed this game is.

I am a little disappointed by the divine beasts so far. I expected a challenge more in line with Shadow of the Colossus, having to scale them, handle them both as dungeons and giant enemies. But that's not the case. They are competently designed mini dungeons but they have been very easy, and offer such a negligible combat challenge it's almost not worth mentioning. I really like them in concept, but I don't think the actual puzzle solving is complicated enough to be interesting. They are also very short.

I've seen the ploymus Lynel mentioned so many times in BotW threads I did not expect the entire section to be totally optional. If you have 20+ shock arrows when you talk to the fish people they tell you about the Lynel but the happy sparkly fish man says don't worry about him if you don't want to, just meet me at the elephant.

I took him out anyway because why not. At this point all I have is savage Lynel gear and a supply of buffed royal weapons, so every encounter is trivial.

The dialogue must change depending on how stacked Link is. Every time someone assigns me a main quest now they say something along the lines of "you look like you're more than ready for this"

Finally managed to free all four divine beasts. Also received the
Master Sword.

Will recover all the remaining memories now before facing Ganon.

Question:
Classical Link outfit, is it part of the main story as in I'm guaranteed to get it at some point?
Seems like there's little chance for that right now.

At this point repetition has started to settle in with all the shrines and it doesn't seem like there's that much enemy variety in this game. I have all the towers I suspect. The most impressive element of this game continuous to be the vast yet handcrafted landscape. I suspect it would take 150+ hours to see the various secrets (minus the hidden seeds).

2nd Question:
The frozen tundra area in the west north of Gerudo... no tower?
I have seen the Lyle on its highest top. The dragon. Also when I try to climb the cliffs all the way to the west it tells me I can go no further.

Q1:
classic green tunics are amiibo unlocks

Q2:
it does have a tower but it's not on the mountain. start exploring from the desert tower and you'll find it faster.

That is not part of the main story. You get it as a reward for
clearing every shrine. Or you can get different green outfits from Amiibo.

2nd Question:
The frozen tundra area in the west north of Gerudo... no tower?

Every region has a tower. Once you activate them all,
you'll get a message about having the complete Hyrule map.
For clarification, are you talking about the
frozen area at the northwest of the map (Hebra) or the frozen area immediately to the north of the Gerudo Desert?
Because
Hebra has its own tower, while the region immediately to the north of Gerudo is covered by a tower that isn't in the frozen area.

Finally wrapped up all the shrines today! Still need to finish up trials and then will go into retirement until DLC 2. 200+ hours....and every minute was amazing. Easily ranks up there with one of my favorite games of all time.

I'm amazed no one has complained about not being able to attack while walking. I remember somewhat of a fuss during the Twilight Princess days about not being able to do that. Nintendo added that ability in Skyward Sword though, I don't know if it was due to complaints or because it made sense due to motion controls.

That has never really bothered me, but there's always someone that complains about something.

It's the reverse, you could attack while moving in Twilight Princess but was removed in Skyward Sword. It wasn't really useful for combat though, mostly for cutting grass without having to stop.

?

You can totally attack while walking in Skyward Sword. I don't remember that being an option in the Gamecube Twilight Princess though (maybe it's in the Wii version?), but I could be wrong since I played that a long time ago.

Anyway, point is I remember people raising a fuss about not being able to attack while moving, it was then added, but now it's not available in BotW again.

It's not a big issue, but Link in Skyward Sword comes to a complete halt when you swing the Wiimote. In Twilight Princess you can tap the attack the button and move while Link does something similar to an under-toss motion with the sword. It's not great for combat, but useful for cutting grass. Cutting grass isn't too useful in BotW so it's absence isn't a big deal.

Finally got all the shrines! I almost made it through all of them without looking anything up, but this last one I just couldn't find. It required an unrelated side quest be completed for it to show up which is kind of annoying when I don't recall any other shrine requiring that. I wouldn't have minded if the game hinted at it.
