Same here. I probably would have bought a few Star Wars sets, and a few of the Marvel SH sets and that'd probably be it.

In that case, let me take this opportunity to praise the glories of the Quinjet set. That is if you have not gotten it yet. I am assuming so since you got Marvel SH sets. So this is for everyone else as well.

Do you have the Quinjet?
If so: congrats on the awesomeness.

If not: Do you like swooshability in your playsets? If so, Quinjet has that set to 11. Best Marvel set at the moment. (Until Daily Bugle comes out. But that will win only for having Nova, JJ Jameson, and Doctor Doom mini figs).

Yea, I got the Quinjet. It's one of the few Lego sets I have on my desk. Had to buy it for the Black Widow mini-fig.

While we are all having a Lego love in, I just want to thank this thread for everything. The opinions, the pics, the news, and just being super friendly.

And you guys were right, the UCS Jedi Starfighter was a disappointing set.

Is the Quinjet really that good? I've had my eye on it as something I should get back haven't been sure. Maybe I should pencil that in.

Allow other members of the family to speak its glories.

Yea. It's pretty neat build. Plus it's totally displayable.

Just finished mine on the weekend, it's amazing.

It is ranked as "Highest Rated" on Lego.com. Not many sets get that easily.

This is one of those sets that I wanted just for the figures originally, but after building it, it is definitely one of the best sets this year. Great price for a licensed set, and great mini figures. The build itself is incredibly solid (except the tips of the wings. Still too loose), but it really is the "swooshability" of it that sets it so high. I could not help but fly it around my apartment after building it. It just feels so great in the hand as you fly it around and make sounds.

Right now, probably the best sub $80 set out there. At least what I have gotten this year.

I feel weird being so far ahead in the posts in this thread. I was out of the Lego scene for almost twenty years (with like two sets in the last ten), so suddenly spend all my spare income on it and post about it all the time on here.

I would love to make the new OT though. And from the looks of it, I should hurry up and prep it. I did have some ideas for it, and Ghostmind sent me some ideas.

Make us proud
;)

This thread totally inspired me to break out my old sets. I'm a little too broke to buy stuff like you guys do, but I have also been treating myself to one big new set on my Birthday and Christmas as well. I need to add another holiday between January and September though... too long to go without a new set!

I have it.

Just placed an order for 5x harley quinns hammer truck set MISB for $50 delivered each. They go for $90 at least on bricklink.com and there's ones on eBay for $250. Fingers crossed the order goes through.

Where did you find those at and are you interested in sharing the love with Lego-Gaf? *wink-wink*

I think it might be time for a new thread, because I'm pretty sure this statement completely wins this thread.

On a related note, very excited for the Nova minifig. I can't believe I am going to buy that set just for the minifigs.

That's fantastic! I haven't seen it before.

Well it was available in the UK from a newspaper promotion. No idea about the rest of the world. Probably get one cheap off eBay. Some people really did scrounge for some of these sets. Some one is selling complete boxes of these polybags. I'm too nice to profit off something like this.

What set does the minotaur come from? Wow, I've never seen that before and I want it bad.

Series 6. I bought 10 packs and got 2 actually. If you want I can sell you my extra (still sealed) or trade for ones I don't have.

I'm just so happy I got the Roman Soldier! My gf got the Mechanic and Robot she wanted, but we didn't get the Sleepyhead sadly (she wanted that the most).

The butcher was the last one I got from that series which is lucky since I wanted it. Wouldn't have minded the robot but I do prefer the series 1 version more.

I missed out on the first one :( and I could only find one of the Clockwork ones (too expensive on Bricklink and eBay). Butcher is sweet imo

You're in Portland, aren't you? I live in Sellwood and I have 3 minotaurs, if you want to meet up some time for a minifig exchange. I've got some other duplicate sets I'd be willing to trade too.

I just checked the availability of the cafe modular. Holy moly. 1500+€??!!!
And the other ones like market street are 800€ easily and that's without the packaging. Maybe I should buy some fire brigades and sell them in a few years when they're oop

I have been piecing one together for a little while now. Bought $200 worth of the bricks straight from Lego. The other 70 lots or so I will be brick linking for probably another $300 or so. It's cheaper than buying one straight up.

I blame this thread for getting me back into Lego this year. I blame it for making me broke.

I am glad I was able to do the same to others.

I agree with this. If it wasn't for me coming across this thread back in July I would be richer and have a lot less Legos in my house now. I brought me back from a 14 year hiatus. Can't wait for all that OT 2 will bring.

It's from this Australian site I've never used before (or heard of). They're basically a mail direction\purchaser for US retails. Apparently they came from Wallmart but when I checked Wallmart's site directly they weren't there.

They did have the emerald night which seems to have disappeared now but they still have other OOP sets like the indiana jones and the temple of doom set and the agents van\truck thing.

I'm interested to see if the order even goes through at all as I don't know how they're getting all these sets.

But if the order does go through I'd be happy to sell to you guys for a discounted rate (so not the $190 they are on bricklink or $250 they are on ebay). I did purchase them with the intent of reselling to fund my habit but I'm not in it to rip people off, just to make it worth my while.

I found out that buying used sets is ... a bit disappointing. Especially when your idea of "good condition" differs.
