I'll kill you both with my bare hands.

To be fair, I would've been in complete agreement prior to building the 911 GT3 RS. I put the finished model next to my Lego Ferrari 430 and the Megablocks model just looks so much better.

I don't have time to build from imagination these days so a sexy 3D jigsaw is all I'm really looking for.

Still, that's the last time I mention Megablocks, promise. I bought the Ultimate Build Francisco to atone.

pictures or it didn´t happen... (it is humanly impossible to place a megablock (it´s hard to write that word) model next to a Lego model)...

You now have to buy the VW camper to atone. Some Lego vehicle can be quite poor (the vw beetle is horrible IMO) but the camper is amazing. Not too bumpy, intricate detailing throughout. Probably the most impressive set I've ever built

Will do. I moved house over the weekend and part of that involved breaking down all my LEGO. Got everything rebuilt except for the Ferrari (8671) and my Technics Chassis (8865). Will rebuild the Ferrari, shelve them and take pics :)

New house has a floor just for LEGO and games consoles. Sweet.

I want it so badly. There's a guy in my office that just finished restoring a real splitty and I'm hoping he buys it and lets me build it. Otherwise, I'm going to have to tighten some purse strings and buy my own.

Today is the first day of the London Toy Fair - there should be plenty of reports coming soon about upcoming sets, though pictures have traditionally not been permitted. Pics should be fair game though for the New York Fair in a few weeks.

Don't think I've ever sprawled out the pieces like that across a table. The most I do is keep the contents of each bag separate.

hey echoshifting, you mentioned the Castle sets, any notable modern sets from that theme? I LOVED the Castle theme back in the 80's and 90's, but they seemed to have gone downhill. I've always dreamed of having that gigantic Black Knight castle as a kid.

Unfortunately, the most elaborate Black Knight set I owned was this:

As someone else already said, definitely nab the medieval market village...fantastic set. Another one you might think about grabbing before it gets too pricey is mill village raid...the barn and windmill buildings are really well designed and help flesh out the village. I plan to pick up the most recently discontinued large castle, which seems to hover around 140-160 on ebay right now...then it's on to the recently released royal joust. The basic set is only kinda meh, but if you're willing to drop the cash on two of 'em, the resulting build is fantastic. I will probably fiddle with it along with the castle to try and make it look like a walled village with a central keep.

When all that is said and done, I'm gonna look at adding the diagon alley set from Harry Potter if it looks like it'll blend in well...I'm thinking of trying to convert the most recent Hogwart's sets into a cathedral, and I'm considering adapting a couple of the PotC sets as well. I dunno, I might take a break from medieval so I can grab the trio of available modulars first. Either way I'll put up pics as it comes along!

I did it with the Grand Emporium.

Anyone heard about this? ReBrick? It's some sort of social media site/thing which lets you share your MOC's and view others.

I'm not sure if these pictures will show up.

But if they do,

These are some mockups of microscale Star Trek LEGO sets.

These are great, but I think Enterprise B looks more like Voyager :P
I built an Enterprise when I was little, but it looked like something out of Minecraft :)

This is my most recent MOC. It was going to be some kind of mage-academy/school of magic for Lego castle, but in the end I just turned it into a general trader. The adventurer is going off on a big epic journey, so he bought a lot of supplies- his men are carrying it all out and the shop keeper got a pot of gold for her troubles. I love the way the log roof in particular came out- it's something i'd never tried like this before.

Love it! Do you have some better angles of the finished product?

That's a cool MOC RichardAM. Best I could hope for is a multicoloured rainbow building since I don't have enough pieces in one colour... except for black. I seem to be inundated with black pieces.

Love this, especially the roof! The rounded pillars by the door give it an interesting, exotic appeal. Great work :) I'll second the call for more angles!

This is pretty awesome, great job. If you turn it around is anything to see or can play with the insides? Either way it's cool, just curious!

Why not just buy a die-cast model of a car if a few custom parts made out of crappy plastic is all there is to it.

F430 is a bad model though. But look at this:

I'm not impressed with the Hulk and Captain America posted above. But the LotR and Monster figures look excellent. Definitely going to try to keep on top of those lines and the Super Hero lines so I don't fall behind like I did with my favorite series (Harry Potter). I only have some of the early sets like the Sorting Hat and the first Gringott's and some of the ones that came out just recently like the Quidditch and Forbidden Forest.

Die-cast models don't scratch the construction itch. Even with all the pre-fabbed panels, the 911 is 650-odd pieces.

The model you've posted looks awesome but I'm guessing it's the wrong side of £300.
