Use Rebrickable.com

Edit: Finished!! I love the old school look. Fantastic build although I wish it was a little bigger. I added some mini-figs for more realism and next step will be to remove the garage door and add other parts I have to make it slide, so I can add a car in the driveway.

Also made this F1 racer. Found instructions on rebrickable.

So do LEGO cannons fire still? I remember having a few firing canons from when they first launched the Pirate sets way back when, but then later sets has non firing cannons (figures some kid choked or something). I even got one that had the pull bad design, but was not able to pull back. Then they were just single solid plastic with no mechanism.

Yep they do. I like the ones that do not myself due to them having artwork.
So last night after a few drinks with the lady friend I got the itch to build! I finished
the castle I plan on using in the medieval scene I am working on. Pics!

So I mentioned going to the LEGO store yesterday to pick up a Y-Wing, but that ended up not happening. My wife really wanted a set with Ewoks and if it was enough to get her into building then I was willing to make the sacrifice. These sets may be a little simple, but I cannot complain about getting a few minifigs I like along with three speeder bikes (one winter). Plus she agreed we need to get the Imperial Shuttle next month when we have time to build it so I count that as a win.

So I have $45 in Target gift cards and, due to this thread, I've decided I want to use them on LEGO. The only set I've bought myself in the past 10 years or so is the Propeller Adventures Creator set:

So, GAF, I turn to you. What should I get? I like the Creator sets and am a bit of a Star Wars geek, though I have a bunch of the original Star Wars LEGO sets (OG X-Wing FTW!).

TIR fighter to go with your x-wing?

I have to agree with everyone else, that Castle is so good. It's custom built or is that set? I didnt see one like that at the Lego Store the other day.

My first guess would be its a combination of the latest King's Castle set (recently OOP) and some MOC work. Very rad.

Very nice. Been continuing to sort my pieces and think my first moc in 20 years will be a castle. Your wonderful pics have given me a few ideas too. Great work and thank you.

That castle looks really good. That merlin is from a very old set right? I remember having it as a kid, I bought a "new" keychan version but it has printed details all over the place (unlike the plain old version)

This is what I did I tried to keep it in line with the recent Kingdoms line. Since
I just got back into building its what I have been buying so I want it all to still kinda fit
with each other. I would still like to tweak it a bit once I get more parts.

Man, the close ups of the LOTR sets are disappointing looking.

Yeah, can't say I'm that bothered, and I love LOTR. Perhaps it is because I have a vast collection of Games Workshop LOTR models.

Love the castle a few posts up, wish I had enough to fund a huge castle set binge and Star Wars vehicles.

Opinions on the midi scale Star Destroyer anyone?

Has anyone built the Anakin and Sebulba podracers? (I know I know...) but they look like really detailed, fairly complex builds and they come with 50 bonus VIP points right now. I think they look pretty interesting.

I was actually looking at those in the store pretty hard last night. While watching the pod race during the movie in the theater I decided I wanted to get them.

That reminds me of the classic yellow castle

That was the first Lego set I owned, stickers and all. Note that it predates horse minifigs, tall castle wall pieces and other specialized medieval gear. But I may still have al the parts for it around here somewhere...

Funny that this thread should pop up.
I was looking at some LEGO in a store the other day and it reminded me of all the fun I had when I was a kid.

Maybe I should get back into it

I used to be so jealous of my cousin, who had the "Big Yellow Castle", when we were young. I had the Galaxy Explorer as the "crown jewel" of my collection back then. Little did we know at the time we had what would become two of the most iconic sets.

Picked up the Millenium Falcon the other night and started putting it together last night. Probably the biggest build I have done in terms of pieces in the set. I can't wait to get home from work tonight so I can finish it.

The yellow castle... my cousin owned (owns?) it. We rebuild it (almost, some pieces were missing) as we found the instructions. Very cool castle.
I never had any big castles... The largest was a tower like castle, with the warlord with bat-winged helmet.
