wait what? There is a points system for Legos?
if you shop at lego.com then you get reward points that build up to $5 off coupons. Maybe it works at Lego stores too? I don't know, I don't have one near me.
Amazon discounts and shipping mean that a lot of the time, it's still cheaper to buy there if it's an option, but there's a double points thing right now so maybe not at the moment.
Is that how it works? Are there "rare" minifigs? Sorry I'm new to all this. I would have thought they were all made evenly?
Well, sort of. The way it works is that in a given box of minifigs, there will always be a set number of a specific figure. In a box of 36, there may only be 2 of the "rare" figure for that series. From my understanding, it's in the same place in the box every time, too (i.e. 4 packages from the back in the left-most row). It's sort of shitty and nothing like it should be, haha.
Same with me and the VW Camper Van.Oh, I am done for a while now. I just waited until double points to buy them.
Wow really? That sucks bigtime. So which one is considered rare in for instance series 5?
I don't follow the minifig line, so I couldn't tell you. I'm sure Eurobricks has a "study" done on a box.
A little research tells me that they changed the process a bit on the later series, but it's still broken down by common, uncommon, and rare. You're guaranteed a full set in a box, and each classification has a distribution of like i.e. 5, 4, 3-2 respectively. The absolute best way is to buy a box and split it with someone (to get all the figures you want) and sell the extras to make up the cost.

How much does a box go for?I don't follow the minifig line, so I couldn't tell you. I'm sure Eurobricks has a "study" done on a box.

I think a lot of people are waiting for that. I know I am. SSD here I come!
The Roman seems to go for so much more than the others on Ebay Gutted because I wanted to have a nice Legion of them set up![]()
I might be heading to the Easton store on Saturday with my nephew.I work just down the street of Stelzer Rd...it's dangerous for my wallet.
799 points, suckaaaaa
Yeah, I'm debating it too.

800 points IS $40 off, which is 10% of the purchase. Not terrible if you're intending to purchase the set anyways...
Maybe I'm taking all the "fun" out of it, but I'm just getting my collector minifigs from sellers on Bricklink. I'm paying a premium of $1 to $1.50 per minifig, but I am only getting exactly the ones I want and no duplicates.
Much better.
Half the fun is "feeling" them through the bags :/
Finally picked up the X-Wing today, looking forward to building it over the weekend since everyone one here seemed to enjoy building it.

I will be there as well letting my 7 year old son pick out his birthday present. I may just have to pick up something for myself as well......
on the topic of collectible minifigures, I've been collecting since the start, they used to have bar codes which told you what was in side for the first 2 series. After that they went with the bump codes which I couldn't figure out for the life of me.
Since series 3 I've been buying sealed boxes of them, I bought a box at first and kept a complete set for myself managed to sell the rest as sets and spares on ebay, I ended up covering my costs so I effectively got a complete set for myself for free.
Series 4 I got 2 boxes and managed to sell all my spares and make about $100 on top (which I promptly spent on more lego) Series 5 I went up to 4 boxes and ended up making about $300 and had people on ebay asking me if I had any more after I sold out (as I was selling them as a set for cheaper than you could get them RRP individually if you could even find all 16 in one hit)
So come series 6 I figure I'd order 6 boxes, out of 17 complete sets for sale I've only sold 4 and 1 spareso now I have 2 sealed boxes (I didn't bother opening 2 until I needed to), 7 complete sets and about 60 spares I can't do anything with, for some reason nobody is buying this time even though I am selling them for about $40 cheaper for a set than I was last time.
If you were in the UK I'd buy up all the Roman's you had! I've only got 2 so far out of 10 buys. I can't feel them out![]()

I really want a LEGO TIE Interceptor.
A man can dream...
I would not be surprised if we saw both a TIE Interceptor and a TIE Bomber in the next couple years. With the TIE Fighter and the TIE Advanced both having recent revisions, these ones will be due next.
Man, after building the Falcon I had to control myself and not buy Robie House tonight. I think I might jump into the modular scene soon. They look fun, and the price per brick is quite low on them as well.
Anybody have that UCS Obi Wan's Jedi Starfighter? It's $60 at the Lego online shop. I am just wondering what happens when you try to fit a minifig into the cockpit. Most reviews say it doesn't work but I don't understand why.
Went to the Lego store and they were out of stock on the Fire brigade. They let me log in and order it online while they put in a code for free shipping.
Got that code for free shipping?
