Seriously, why hasn't this been done yet? As well as the opposite, a piece with the bottom side repeated on the top?
Mega Bloks have a piece like that.
Saying that... Mega Bloks have a piece like everything.

Do a modular Hill Valley Future and and you've got my vote.
Here's my collection of city vehicles. My favorites are the yellow car and it's caravan as well as the orange tipper truck. They are both sturdy and well built. I was disappointed with the garbage truck. It felt very flimsy on the sides and not a fan of it's dumping mechanism.

So Lego has renewed the Star Wars contract for 10 more years...and with most of the main ships already released as UCS sets, where can they go from here?
The way I see it, they can go in two directions: reach deeper into the prequels and expanded universe and release lesser-known ships, or they can re-release some of the fan favorite UCS ships like the Falcon, ISD etc.
What do you guys think? I know re-releasing past UCS sets is something Lego would probably never do, as it'd piss off collectors, but it's also ridiculous to have these amazing sets only available for a couple years before skyrocketing into these silly price ranges because they're out of print.
don't re-release. re-imagine
you don't piss off collectors for releasing the same set, and you can use some of the nice new bricks and techniques from modern sets to make them stand out.
Prequel trilogy, extended universe, games etc just don't have the broad appeal to support $300-400 UCS sets
I like the way you think. I'm only bringing this up for discussion because I'm bitter about missing out on the UCS Falcon and want a piece of the action at some point![]()
A lot.$480
A lot.$480
That's pretty good actually - less than I paid.
I've learned now never to let a set I may be interested in go OOP.

I need a Falcon in my collection but the only one available is not minifig scale so it will look stupid with all my other scaled ships.
I'm only suggesting they redo it for exactly the same reason
plus after seeing what they can do with the imperial shuttle, VW camper and shuttle expedition, the thought of a 'new' UCS falcon and Star Destroyer makes me drool
On the boxes does it define the set as a UCS? I was thinking about ordering the Obi Jedi fighter as it's on sale on Lego's website for 60 dollars. I figured almost 50% is a good deal. But I was looking at the image of the box and I don't see anything about UCS on it.
How is that determined?
Nice collection of cars! That's disappointing to hear about the trash truck. I was looking at that one with my son last night. It's interesting the orange tipper truck feels more sturdy to you because the back is open.
The yellow car comes with the camper on the right of your picture right?
But they've never "redone" a UCS set. Even the two upcoming ones we know about are brand new - R2D2 and the B-Wing.
Let's just hope they don't do any more busts like the UCS Darth Maul hahaha
What?! I love the sculpture style pieces! My Lego Dragon I parted out is (next to the Tower Bridge) the most adorable and amazing set ever, haha. Sculpture sets are gorgeous for display!
I love my UCS Yoda, but the Darth Maul just looks silly!
Finished my Imperial Shuttle during the weekend, it's gorgeou and all, but damn didn't think it would be this big. Kinda having a hard time finding a good place to put it, and takes up ton of space when on the stand in flight mode. Also it's kind flimsy with how it's wings are designed so trying to find a place that the can't won't get to it.
I want the Mass Effect Normandy.I just want the Ebon Hawk.

I remember when I was younger that I had some sort-of Lego book. I don't believe it was a catalog (it might have been but that was so long ago - late 80s), but it it just had images of really large sets and some of the images were for models that I know you couldn't buy.
I recall one being this huge space station/space base type model, build on one of those gray bases that had the little craters in the corner. The set was primarily blue/gray with the yellow tinted windows. It looked massive back then and seemed to have a lot of detail. Am I crazy or does anyone else have an idea of what I'm thinking about?
I seem to remember whatever magazine/brochure that had the sets I'm thinking of was sort-of like a very early "Do it yourself" Lego guide. I seem to remember that they're were very basic instructions for smaller sets that you could put together with pieces from the different 80s era Space sets.
I can't even remember how I got that magazine/brochure, but it wasn't anything where you ordered sets.
EDIT: I FOUND IT! One min while I load the image

And this was the book...

do you mean like, when the manuals would show you a really cool *picture* of a model you could make, but not actually show you how to build it? That shit used to give me incredible rage
My fiancee just said I wasn't allowed to get the Death Star or SSD any time soon, because I just spent ~$530 on a ton of sets last month and we need to save for the wedding.
I'd better go ahead and order one of them soon so I can set a precedent![]()
I'm sending this post to my friend who isn't allowed to buy Lego again until his infant daughter is old enough to play with them.My fiancee just said I wasn't allowed to get the Death Star or SSD any time soon, because I just spent ~$530 on a ton of sets last month and we need to save for the wedding.

Just got the Lego catalog through the door and there's a 10% off voucher on the back just 3 days after I spent £375. D'oh.
Oh well, at least when I go back at the weekend to use my 900 points or so I can use the voucher too.
Nice work and great job documenting the build with your pictures. That set is extremely classy.Finished the Fire Brigade this afternoon, and damn was that an awesome set.
