Town Hall looks to be the most boring build, but the sheer size of it fascinates me. Grand Emporium looks like the most fun. Repetitive, but neat details to repeat.

I'm not that excited by it, but I want more detail on those columns - they look great. Any gaffers buy it, I'd like impressions of the columns :)

I need some Bricklink help.

I've been placing quite a few orders off Wanted lists but items don't seem to be taken off the list once ordered (is that right???) so I have to go back and remove them.

What I want to do is download my orders into Excel but when I generate the list it comes up with no details.

What do I need to change here:

To get something better than this:

I'm thiking the empty cells should list the parts I odered?

you need to check the 'details' box, otherwise you just get a summary of the overall order.

There is also a box on the order summary when you make it, that can move all the ordered pieces to a wanted list. So I always have a 'completed orders' wanted list that I move them to. But more importantly it moves them *off* the current wanted list so I can see what I'm left to order.

You can also just wait a while and then download your order details en masse based on date ranges. And after I asked, the guy from rebrickable added the ability to import bricklink pieces lists - you have to export them in xml format I think.

Ticking the Detail box gives me the same result.

I do like the import feature in rebrickable so thanks for that but I've now clocked up over 30 BL orders so it's difficult to remember if a part I have ordered one of has been used or not.

potential facepalm incoming... have you tried scrollign to the right in the excel? The piece info can be off to the right a lot

Double VIP is until the 15th. Free shipping just began and goes until the 31st. In other words, order NOW!

Free shipping? NICE!

How do you guys seem to know about all of these deals coming up before they come up? Is there an online list of upcoming events like this somewhere? The Lego website doesn't seem to have any such list...

10% off is instore only in the UK I think. and only for one item. But do they have catalogues in the stores? Coudln't I just buy one thing, grab a catalogue, walk out of the shop, turn around and go back in again for another set?

Working in IT as I do I would be ashamed if that was the case. Sadly doing a CSV or HTML both show the same lack of details.

I tried using a specific order number and in Excel there are 26 rows which is the same number of items I orders.

I've taken to printing the orders to PDF and then ticking them off. from now on I'll use your completed wanted list idea.

To those bitching about 2x1 plates being stacked...Enter double brick separators.

If you only own one, shame on you. Buy a second.

@megashock5 True. I didn't really think about that - not to mention, the markup on Architecture is painful. I saw the new Sydney Opera House at the Lego store this weekend - $40 for 270 pieces? Yeahno. Much better way to spend that money.

Town Hall, even though everyone is giving it shit, has a lot of really neat details inside and happens to be a massive model compared to the other modulars. I'm REALLY excited to grab it eventually myself. :) I'm waiting until after I grab Pet Shop, though - working my way from oldest to newest, ha.

E: Shuttle Expedition finally ordered with free shipping. :) SUPER excited!

Recently discovered Lego Digital Designer (late at the party, I know) and man.....what an addiction.

Grew up with LEGO so having the chance to "rebuild" all the classics really brings back childhood memories.

Here are some of my first attempts:

I have two, I just don't know where the other one is. It was a struggle just finding one of them buried in the bottom of a box of mixed bricks.

But you can always replicate the separator with your own bricks.

I have that set too :)

those 2x1 go apart reasonably easily compared to 2x2 ;)

The columns, along with the roof, were my favorite part of the build - very clever construction and somewhat customizable in that they can be turned to face your desired direction.

The Town Hall is a big building (the biggest modular yet), so yes, parts of it can be very repetitive, but it has some very cool interior details, some great outer architecture, an elevator and a very cool (and substantial) roof build.

Just placed my order for the Death Star on the online shop. I also threw in a brick separator thanks to GAF's recommendations.

It's strange though, I didn't get an email confirming the order. Does Lego wait to send emails until the order is processed on their end? I'm just used to Amazon sending the order confirmation right away.

You'll get confirmation in a bit. I placed my order for Shuttle Expedition just before 8 this morning and got confirmation an hour later.

ACK, seems like the large Technic sets do not qualify for the free shipping from the Lego website. Thats a damn shame. :(

BUT, if I go to a Lego store and they dont have it in stock, then I can order it from there and they will pay to have it shipped to my house, so in essence its free shipping (to me).

You bastards. First I borrowed some Technic truck set from a friend because I hadn't touched Lego since... I don't even remember. Then I built the Supercar. Then I watched The Amazing Test, browsed this thread and now this happened:

And my wishlist already has 11 items. :(

Just purchased the Venator via Bricklink. I've been eyeing it for years now and I really should have just bought the thing before it went OOP. Can't wait to assemble it!

That's a great lineup

That mini-modular set is amazing btw - its really impressive how they have made each of the modular buildings so small and yet so detailed. Some of the techniques used I would never have though of either.

Lego needs to open more factories and produce more brick types so their Pick a Brick online shop is more robust.

It's frustrating when sets go OOP; you should be able to PAB what you need to build them, I mean it's 2012 for gods sakes! FREE LEGO NOW!

In a perfect world, but they have to produce and store all this stuff somewhere. I already wish I didn't have to wait forever to get a package from Poland. It's the last one I need for the ucs falcon.

I had a Bricklink order from Poland or so I think, too. For whatever reason, the store had a huge quantity of a very hard to find brick. Nobody stateside had anything close, haha.

This is probably a good place to ask if Lego is planning on putting the Star Destroyer out again? Is re-releasing old sets something they do?

I've never really followed the Lego scene as an adult despite having boxes of the stuff as a kid. I've always wanted that set but didn't have the money when it first came out.

No, sorry. I don't think Lego has ever re-released a set (at least none that I know of).

They rereleased Black Seas Barracuda at one point. But for the star destroyer we are more likely to get a reimagined one instead if we are lucky.

There is more demand for the UCS Millennium Falcon but it will probably be a long time before a new version comes out, considering the smaller one available now is not very old.

However, the smaller (non-UCS) Star Destroyer went out of print in 2008, so hopefully we'll get another version sometime in the next few years. And I keep hearing how shoddy the original UCS Imperial Star Destroyer is, so maybe that is some incentive on Lego's behalf to do a better job at some point in the next 10 years (while Lego has a contract with Lucasfilm for the Star Wars line).

Honestly if they made one that doesn't have the tendency to self destruct I'd insta-buy another! (the way the supports and the main frame are distributed is as such that the back part of the frame bends over time and the feet can break with the slightest movement causing the whole thing to collapse, they fixed this in the SSD but that's too late!) Reliability asside though it's not as shoddy a set as some people say.

never had the Star Destroyer, but do have the SSD, was the structural problem pretty much solved by them using a bit of creative license and doing a flat base on the SSD and not doing angled panels like they did with the Star Destroyer?
