I placed my order yesterday and it's still in "customer service" status.

The hell does that even mean?

I know. Pissing me off. Ship my shit already, Lego! And knowing it it will be slow ass shipping too. At least with Toys R Us their warehouse was in NJ so the package got to CT and was delivered the next day.

American shipping addresses might be a low priority.

BAH! I want my Town Hall dammit!

I am debating about disassembling my Imperial Shuttle and rebuilding it these days off. I redid the TIE Fighter and X-Wing, but the Shuttle is a whole other beast. Maybe the Falcon just to get it out of my system.

Good luck detaching the wings on that Shuttle :p

you're gonna need it

That is my thinking as well. I have one of those classic make your own technic axle removers. I know the new brick separators have an axle remover built in, but I dont have one and have to go old school for the remover. Can't find a pic to show, but old school fans will recognize the technique.

Buy the Mini Modulars! :) The orange separator has it's use!

man after uploading my wanted list to brickling, im trying to understand the clusterfrack of system...

i know i can order by stores (that have a lot of my wanted stuff) but that does not consider price, say one store has 90% of what i want but at moon prices, then its quite useless...
any way of exporting the overview of pieces, shops and respective prices to excel so I can get some order into it?

But the sets are so much damn money just to get the dinosaurs. I dont really like the vehicles or anything else, but the dinosaurs look awesome. Some of the sets average close to $.20 a brick. Not a good deal.

I am thinking the same as you - the sets themselves are uninspiring, but the dinos are a must-buy at some point, but just getting a T-rex from Bricklink is around $30. I'm waiting for a sale (BOGO maybe) or next January, when the stores will be discounting the sets to clear shelf space.

Finally build the X-Wing and i really liked it, but how come that every Star Wars set like a ton of stickers
Anyway here's a pic.

Hopefully it works.
It works but why is it so small?

That is what I am whining about. It has been 36 hours or so since I ordered, and the bastards still haven't shipped it. It would probably be out for delivery if I ordered off of Amazon or Toys R Us.

Double VIP is nice, but I would agree that the hassle is sometimes not worth it (especially in your case, haha).

It's not small. It's minifig scale, what were you expecting?

I have a rule to only buy minifig scale ships, because the figures look stupid in them if they're not to scale. This prevents me from getting the Millennium Falcon, the Tantive IV and the Obi-Wan Starfighter. Probably a good thing for my wallet.

Use imgur or minus as your pic host - I was assaulted by ads when I clicked your pic.

I placed an order Sunday night when free shipping went live and my order just shipped out today.

BTW, for people with a Discover card, you can save an additional 5% if you go through their shopDiscover link from your account.

5% cashback + double VIP + free shipping is great!

Unfortunately no. There are external programs that help a little with this but I've had the best luck in finding good prices one of a few ways (bolded the main ideas for easier reading):

- First, simply going into the "My Wanted List By Shop" feature and starting about halfway through. There are a few stores that I know have huge price premiums and I've found that a store that has 75% vs 90% usually has a huge drop in prices as well. I'll usually open up a few stores toward the bottom of the first page and start comparing prices on a more common piece or two at the top of my list and use that to base the general price level of the store
- Find the more rare/expensive pieces in the list and work off of those. Go into your wanted list area and go to Show All (which is in the table under the "Items on my wanted list" headline). This will show the cheapest prices for each piece. I tend to go through and find items that have a wider range of prices (or just high prices to begin with) and look into those stores for the rest of the pieces. Most of the more common pieces you'll find differences of a few cents with while finding a good cost for a rare piece can save you a few dollars, so focusing on the latter has had good results for me as well.

Something else that I know I've mentioned before that is worth repeating is if you're trying to piece together an existing set or a big MOC, put the quantity you need in the notes field instead of the quantity field (or a lower quantity if you're needing a ton of pieces). This will pull all of the stores that have any of that item instead of restricting it to those that have the full amount you need. If you're already placing multiple orders to complete one project it can definitely be better to break a qty of 60 up into multiple stores than trying to find one store that has all 60 in stock.

good. It does nothing for me, which means I can save my money for something else. I'm not a big fan of these voxel style modelling techniques, I think lego lends itself to more angular models that can use the piece shapes directly - making a dome from bricks just looks like minecraft to me.

also, no power functions or even light brick?

hopefully this means there will be a video for the haunted house soon..

That's undeniably cool. I wish it was half that size though.

Well they shouldn't stop doing a certain technique because an unrelated game showed up decades later. If anything, it's impossible not to say that Minecraft is like Lego, not the other way around. That sort of technique has some great examples:

Glad I'm not alone in my feelings about the lackluster feel of the model. Although, I personally love the voxel/sculpture style modeling. :)

Bah. I ordered same time and am still waiting for it to ship. Should have just gone with Amazon or something.

In Lego's reply about my messed up Slave I stickers:

However, I'm happy to confirm that we've already made changes to our newer sets in the way that stickers are packaged! Building instructions and the stickers will be placed along a piece of cardboard and wrapped separately in plastic within the newer sets. We've found that this has corrected the trouble with the stickers!

Anyone else got a strange order in their Lego orders? It says item 2855031 and has charged me nothing. The item number isn't valid though.

Order placed the shop yesterday has just been shipped.... not too bad.

I have that exact item as well.

Probably. I've had a package from Lego take a week just to ship, and the charge sat pending for my bank account until it expired. They had to charge me again. I'm still waiting for it since they had to ship it from Poland. I didn't think it would take three weeks to get something from Lego themselves. I could have got that stuff at a little higher price off bricklink and had it in 3 days.

The first glimpses of the model from the old video did nothing for me, but seeing all that detail...TAKE MY MONEY! ALL OF IT!

The body on the set looks incredible, especially the little details. But the head...yeah. The less said about that the better. I do like that it rotates, but i hate the jagged appearance of it. I would think they would have tried some crazy techniques on the top to keep it smooth and rounded.

Yeah but I doubt there is really any other way to make a dome of that size, I think it looks great personally and unlike the Darth Maul and Yoda ones I would actually consider buying this.

I'm sure if it was possible they would have done it :p

So yesterday my gf and I went to the Lego store, and we bought a couple of sets and filled a large PaB cup each. But then she saw pre-packaged bags of random Lego bricks in a box next t the counter for $7.99 each. Looking through all of the bags it seemed like they were full of all manner of random bricks, and surprisingly, minifigure parts. She bought one just so we could see what all was in it (as an experiment). Lo and behold the bag had 489 pieces in it, with quite the variety in bricks. But, we got a total of 4.5 minifigures to boot! The half is a pair of legs by themselves. We got a Star Wars speedbike trooper, a pilot, and two other generic looking figures that I've not seen before.

Seems quite the bargain for $7.99, we're going to look more closely at those from now on. This was the first time we've seen them in store, is it something new?

I've only seen them once. The bags I got only had 1-2 minifigs each, but I did get a light brick in one. I think the parts come from sets that were damaged in shipping.

Finished up Metal Grudge. If you notice the front page of the creator's instructions and video have some slight differences than what you actually end up with after following the directions. I was able to figure out the changes as well as get some information from the creator and I went with his original design. I just like the grenade launchers better and the symmetry of a couple parts. Oh and the control sticks were my design.

IMG_0354.jpg
The author was saying that he was experiencing some strange random power cutoffs when using two receivers and that it was more reliable using just one. Did you notice anything of sort?

Also, I've noticed that with one battery + one receiver, Grudge can't make the 360 spin on a carpet surface (one control stick up, the other down). Can you try yours and tell me if two receivers give it enough power to do so. I might try sticking another receiver and another battery box in there for maximum ultimate powah.

Lastly, can you explain a bit what you've done with the control sticks? How do they work exactly, and why there's wheels and black bars protruding behind it?

That will look great next to my UCS Yoda. Looks to be about the same size, too.

So hopefully this means we'll see the B-Wing and Haunted House soon!

They are from opened sets that customers return. Whenever they have a lot of those, the employees break them up into those bags. I think it's sorted by weight.
