What's the rarest or most expensive set everyone has on here? Post pics!

If I found them complete (I know my parents have the boxes but parts are another thing.....) then these would be quite rare I would imagine.

As for more recent stuff this is on display in my living room and the box, manual stickers and whatnot are tucked away. Would never sell it though.

Did the first floor of Town Hall last night. Just finished the second and third floors. Going to do the roof after dinner.

The set looks great next to Fire Brigade, but I have to say it is a big step down as far as how much fun it was to put together. After all the weird offset things that are done in Fire Brigade, most of Town Hall seems downright pedestrian. Just not as many weird building techniques in it to stand out, but yet it is still fun to put together. You can definitely tell it is a different designer than the other modulars.

I will post pics of everything once I am done, but so far it is a step backwards from my first modular.

I think you'll like the roof. :)

I used to have this, but I sold it last year for a few hundred (no box, few pieces missing). It was a nice little treat.

The roof was fantastic to put together. Great cap to a fairly decent build. Did the regular guy just do the skylight, or the whole roof? Because the entire thing felt more like Fire Brigade.

About to take pics of the full build. Image bomb coming soon.

I'm so damn jealous of that Statue of Liberty. :(

It is very, very cool. The instructions are very unique too. The entire thing is shown from a top down perspective, never seen another set built like that.

I've actually been entertaining the thought of selling it soon, but im not sure I could actually pull the trigger on it.

Every time I see the value of sets or things I own, I get so tempted to sell them and make a nice profit. But at the same time, the sentimental value attached to those things is so high I dont think I truly could part with them.

So we now have two corners in the modular series. Grand Emporium and Cafe Corner. I was thinking that it would be cool if they made a different corner building, but instead of the building going around the corner to the back like you are turning the road, they make it where it turns forward. Kind of hard to explain unless there is a pic, but I think someone will get what I mean.

Thinking about how to pull that off though, it would have to have a larger footprint than the other modulars to accomodate the larger corner. At least if they want it to connect to the other buildings.

Super Star Destroyer is $360 on Amazon right now.

Great price. That set is my white whale now. (At least in print sets). That is the one that will take a miracle to convince my wife to let me bring into the apartment, even though I have found so many places to display it that are out of the way.

Thankfully, she likes seeing the modulars and is excited to see Tower Bridge when it shows up.

IMAGE BOMB COMING!

One of my cats enjoying the fruits of my many recent Lego purchases. Extra large cardboard boxes!

Overhead shot of the ground floor of Town Hall. I like the checker tiled floor in the main foyer of it.

Sorry for the blurry pic, but it is hard to get a decent pic in such a small space. This was one of my favorite funny touches that Town Hall had. A marble bust on a pedestal. When I was opening the bags, I saw this all white mini fig head and wondered what it would be for.

The photographer in the press conference room on the ground floor of Town Hall. At least that is what I am calling this room.

The cash out area. The room is mega tiny, but still funny when completed.

Second floor of Town Hall. I think the middle area of flat plates is supposed to be a carpet or something. Also note the glass door leading to the outer balcony.

While I think the build was not as fun as Fire Brigade, I do like the detail on the window frames on the inside of the building.

I am calling this the Mayor's Office. Best touch: the "painting" on the wall.

Third floor of Town Hall, otherwise known as the conference room. I both love and hate that the back half of the building is completely open all the way to the skylight.

A view of the roof, showing off the awesome skylight that you construct. It is so simple in execution that it is brilliant.

The clock. It rotates easily, but the entire clock face is printed on, so no setting the hands individually.

The detail and construction on the roof is great, and a big step up from the rest of the set. The way the curves on the underside shown here are achieved is really neat to see come together as you build it.

Backside of the building. Note the large gap on the side for the elevator to slide up and down and stop on any floor. I do like the little touch of ivy growing on the back of the building.

Fire Brigade and Town Hall together. My only two modular sets, but damn am I hooked.

And don't worry. The battle between the Rebel Alliance and the Empire has not made its way to Town Hall. Yet...

And who knows, the Space Police and Blacktron may show up to make the battle more interesting.

Ha, those pics are fantastic PhoncipleBone! The globe is pretty spiffy.

And how do you build the mods so fast? Typically takes me several nights, but granted, I usually have something on in the background. This weekend was Game of Thrones. So yeah, didn't get much building done. :)

I watch stuff while building as well. Last night was a few episodes of True Blood with the wife. Today when I did the second floor on I watched Star Wars and Return of the Jedi. Think the Town Hall took about 7-8 hours total.

How do I build so fast? I don't mix the bags. I also don't sort the pieces either. I just leave each bag in its own pile. I still have to do my fair share of piece hunting, so I still have that joy. Or, like I did during Town Hall, find out I am missing a piece. I then go back to the bags that I threw back in the box and find out a small, clear window pane piece was still in one of the bags.

I have to keep things fairly organized because I have two cats, so I need to be able to quickly clean up or finish unless I want to find a disaster.

I do plan on sorting the pieces for Tower Bridge when it shows up. (SACRILEGE!) The sheer size of the set, and the fact that the bags are not numbered at all means it will take me a few days to build it.

Grand Emporium and Pet Shop are $134.99 on Amazon right now O.O

I'm really broke but this deal might be too good to pass up :(

They must be doing a 10% off sale, and while nice, keep in mind it's not a huge deal above the LEGO store when you account for double points this month. You just get the discount immediately.

And since accumulating my first VIP points from Lego, I do like the idea of saving up points to get a huge discount off of a set later. In the end, it will be the same price as buying all the sets elsewhere over time, but it will feel much cooler to take one huge discount off a set when I do redeem the points.

There's a reason for that.

They are croissants.

Well, that makes sense then.

I believe double points just ended? Also since Lego store charges tax you still save with Amazon.

I wonder how widespread this 10% sale is, I almost never see this kind of sale on Amazon. Picked up Grand Emporium with a gift card and some Amazon Credit Card points :3

I thought double points was an all month thing.

Is it your first modular? If so, you are now stuck in our little world. Ever since getting Fire Brigade last month all I can think about is getting more buildings to add to the street. Trying to think of some good ideas of my own and maybe make a MOC building or two.

Also, I forgot about one major criticism I have about Town Hall. The floors are attached by only about four studs that are exposed. You press the above floor down and it attaches enough to not move, and that is it.
Notice the two exposed studs in the back corner. There is a similar piece in the opposite front corner.
The problem is that the construction of the floors leaves them bowing ever so slightly. With Fire Brigade, they left small ridges jutting from the bottom of the above floors that rested down past the top of the previous floor. The floor never actually "attached" to studs, but instead kind of settled into a groove left for it (kinda). It made it fit together more seamlessly, and that is missing from Town Hall with having to press it down onto studs instead.

No...I picked up Fire Brigade last week. I posted about it in this thread. We had a convo about it a few pages back. Did that mean nothing to you? :(

Also it's too bad to hear about Town Hall; I wasn't as excited about the design especially after finding out Jamie wasn't behind it. I'll probably still get it eventually though.

That clock tower face picture is just begging for some sort of Doc Brown minifig hanging by a cable off of it.

When I first saw pics of Town Hall, that is all I thought about. Just string a wire from the top to a lamp on the street. Put that MOC DeLorean speeding past.

Now I remember having the convo. My apologies. It is late, I had little sleep, and I am tired as hell. (And had a few beers).

But as much as I was disappointed with Town Hall, it is still absolutely worth getting. It looks awesome towering over Fire Brigade once it is done.

I need to figure out a new display setup. I really can't wait to move out of my apartment into a home...Space!

I keep trying to figure out how to have a large display space, but I live in an apartment and have two cats. My Millenium Falcon is on top of my subwoofer, which is a normal kitty hangout, and it is still untouched by them. I am feeling rather safe about possibly leaving Tower Bridge on top of the table by our window instead of banishing it to the small bookcase in the second bedroom.

It's cool I'm just messing with you.

Town Hall looks too similar to Fire Brigade IMO. I think it needs another building in between them.
