yeah I want to do it properly though, I've seen some that pack way too many minifigs into a ribba frame and they just get too crowded and it diminishes the impact. I'm thinking of maybe having rows of 8 minfigs, so then I have a complete series over 2 rows.

I'm not sure how many rows that will give me overall though, hopefully either 6 or 8 rows which would give me 3 or 4 complete sets of minifigs each ribba frame.

I like that design but I'm gonna have to go the cheaper route of just 2x2 white bricks glued to a white cardboard back. The Ribba frames are $50 in Australia and I think I'm going to need at least 3 of them to fit 7 series of minifigs plus assorted batman, marvel, potc, custom ghostbusters and upcoming lord of the rings minifigs.

Which size is 50 AUD? On Holland the 72 x 102 cm is 25 euro and the 52 x 52 is 15 euro.

I like the idea, but I am afraid I am going to glue the bricks on wrong I suck hard at DIY

The only one I see in stock right now is The Mines of Moria (9473) ($79.99 msrp). I decided to order one. Dat cave troll!

Please post if you see any others in stock!! I really want to get the shelob and gandalf arrives sets. I'll probably go for the Weathertop set too for the ringwraiths and merry figs.

I belive the cool cruiser 5767 has a very good PPP value ~6cent per piece

you should be able to get a good bargain for it as its time running out.

Does the Gandalf Arrives set come with the ring?

no, not that I see. That scene is, of course, from the very beginning of Fellowship where the ring is still with Bilbo... so it makes sense that it is not there. If you want the ring your best choice is the shelob set. I heard it actually comes with TWO rings (maybe just a packaging error for some boxes?)

Does anyone here have any experience with miniland scale figures? I've made Ico and Yorda (for my Team Ico Cuusoo project) but I can't figure out a good way to make them look like they're running. I thought I'd post here to see if anyone had any ideas, before I plan to buy the parts on Bricklink.

I've been checking out this thread for some time now. I actually bought a Vintage Minifigure Collection last summer, the green one. Then last weekend I bought one of the Ninjago Kendo figures and three randoms. Got the space marine, the hula girl and the tennis girl. Made a kendo girl out of those, and I might do something fun with the marine.

Yeah, I just bought one yesterday - couldn't say no at that price, and it was a lot of fun to build.

I think I might take it apart and build the formula one car instead as it looks better - the default car itself has some slightly odd proportions.

I think they only had yellow faces for the first couple years they did it, hence why you didn't know. Lego has really come a long way with the quality of their minifig details too. The new C3PO is awesome as are the LotR figures. I can't wait to see what newer details the summer star wars sets have as well.

Some of the series 1 figs have increased in value, like the zombie, but I'm not sure what the Monster Fighters release is going to do to that.
