Just went to the Lego store up in Austin. So much stuff I want! Ended up getting the Hulk Breakout set, the Cap cycle, and the Catwoman Chase plus 4 series 7 minifigs.

I opened one because my sister wanted the bride and it was. I know for sure one is the computer programmer and one is the Valkyrie.

Nice. Now that I know how to feel the bags for specific minifigs, gonna grab another tennis pro for my other Hawkeye figure. I'll check the LEGO store in San Jose since I'll be over there for Fanime lol.

Oh that's right. You're going for a better hair color. Have you tried the make-a-minifig? The hair selection wasn't too great at the one I went to.

I managed to get the tennis player last night, as well as series 6 sleepy guy. Took & posted pics of Barton with his new hair. Went blonde for him.

Oldest of 8 (not all under the same roof -- whew!). And yes, I shared my LEGO :P Kind of gave up on it around 10 or 11 and focused more on action figures for a while.

I still like action figures, but I like the inherent creative component in LEGO not seen in other toys.

As for me, Lego's always been a hobby, but now that I'm in my 30s, the big draw to building is that I find it's very therapeutic. Relaxing, stress-free, and there's something awesome to show for it when it's done!

Lego is easier and cheaper than my other hobby, which is painting miniatures. In the end, they both serve the same purpose of stress free relaxation and having something to show for when you are finished. I enjoy Lego, but it doesn't match my satisfaction from painting. Both hobbies also allow me to watch movies as I create. Movies are yet another one of my passions, so any time I can kill two birds with one stone it is a bonus.

The Lego store in Peabody, MA has it's grand opening specials tomorrow, Saturday, & Sunday. I didn't want to deal with the crowds and possibility of sold out sets or Hulk minifigures so my son and I bought this today!

I too had to remind the clerk to include the Hulk, but he was nice about it. I also think the minifigure is the tennis pro.

First pic of the new Spiderman set. It should retail around $40 with about 362 pieces.

Urgh, to me that's as bad as the hulk helicarrier set, I'll pass.

Youngest of 7. Some of the Lego I had growing up was passed down from my brothers. Number 3 of the 7 also is still very involved in Lego. He has had one of his MOCs featured in a couple Lego stores in California.

Entire family has always been creative artistically, design oriented, or engineers. Heh. I think we are seeing the common themes.

Yeah I'm an environment artist and I think Lego taught me problem solving with restricted resources and critical thinking which beyond the artistic element helps me immensely in my career.

OMG, that set looks SO COOL!

I think it's gonna have to be my first from the Monster Fighters line! =)

Nice. I have yet to see this or the zombies in stores. I think that set has a light brink too. It should look great next to the vampyre castle.

I haven't seen the Zombies set show up anywhere, in stores or online. Was there ever any indication that it was going to be in a second wave of MF sets?

Yeah, the multi-tasking element is a fantastic bonus with a Lego hobby. I made my way through both seasons of Downton Abbey while putting together my latest modular and a few of the Friends sets. It makes the builds last a little longer, but I'm the type to take my time anyway, so it's a nice, easy-going way to unwind. Lego is so awesome. :)

Painting miniatures sounds interesting too. What kind of minis are they? Seems like a hobby that compliments Lego nicely.

It looks like Lego is finding ways to re-release the Collectible Minifigures. This $15 set includes the male surfer from Series 2, the hula dancer from Series 3 and the female surfer from Series 4.

15 dollars for that? You've got to be kidding me...right?

Lego seems to be raising the price on some sets because of the number or type of minifigs, or something. But I agree that set would be better suited for the $12-13 price slot.

I must say I am happy with the number of dark green cheese slopes in my Weathertop set. Could be some good microscale MOCing going on later if I ever dare take this apart.

Just got home and built Cap's Cycle and the Catwoman Chase. Cap's Cycle was pretty disappointing over all. I think I'm going to disassemble the aliens and their weapons/craft since I don't care for them very much.

The two main reasons I got Catwoman's Chase were for the Batman mini-fig and the street corner. I really, really love how that traffic light was setup and the mini newsstand.

If I build another Lego bike, it'll be too soon.
I can see them releasing something like Venom Cycle or something down the line and I know I'll have to get it.

You just made me imagine them releasing a Ghost Rider set. The standard skeleton head, with the standard flame piece on top.. I almost cringe at the thought. Lego, please don't do it.

Ok, this car is awesome! A very fun build, it comes together interestingly.

Also, about the Zombie Graveyard set, it's not listed on the back of the instructions.

Maybe it's for later this year around Halloween? Perhaps that and the modular Haunted House?

It's cool to bundle related minifigures together. But for that same $15 you can get the Alien Conquest Battle Pack which has 5 minifigures (and I thought that was expensive too!). Then again, on second glance I think that includes bricks for a bbq set and other stuff. 63 bricks and 3 minifigures for $15, hmm....

I know sets come with extra pieces, but I was still pleasantly surprised that my Shelob Attacks set came with two extra one-rings and one extra Sting sword.

Thank you guys. This thread always makes me smile. Now I need to finish Weathertop and start building Shelob. We wonder how many rings we got, my precious.

Picked up Urak hai Army today. All I need is three more sets to finish up the LOTR.
Weathertop,Helms deep and the Orc Forge.

Has anybody seen Orc Forge in the wild?

HULK SMASH PUNY TOWER BRIDGE!

HULK STRONGEST THERE IS!

HULK NO UNDERSTAND WHY HE WEARING BUNNY SUIT!

HULK SMASH TOWER SO MUCH IT MAKE PICTURE OUT OF FOCUS!

Yeah, figured I should have a little fun while I disassemble this beastly set.

Debating about using Tower Bridge and some of my Creator sets for pieces for a MOC, or give myself a challenge and use ONLY Tower Bridge for parts.

Really? I've seen it at TRU and the Lego store (In store). I didn't know it was a Target exclusive...

Sold my two exclusive Hulk minifigs for 35...I think it's time to go back to the Lego Store for a 50 dollar set. Do I go with another Monster Fighters set or do I maybe go for that Summer House?

Well the box says "hard to find" on it... doesn't that mean it is only available at certain outlets? I don't claim to know exactly where as I don't have a target nor a TRU near me :P i have to order everything online. they are about to finish building a target here though... that'll be nice

wow $35... were they desperate or just dumb? Good job in any case. Monster Fighters for the figures, house if you want to build a display piece :P

I'll never tell you what you did or did not see, but toysrus.com has no listing for the Orc Forge, and they never have. Neither does Walmart.com. But Target's website has it. Usually, "Exclusive" items only apply to the major retailers, and not to LEGO itself. So TRU might have an exclusive item, but you'll be able to get it on Lego.com or in-store as well. That's at least been my experience.

Town Hall, T1 Van, Chopper Showdown a bunch of minifigs in the last 3 weeks says I have no self control whatsoever. I am loving the rocker girl from S7. Best hair piece ever.

For May I have gotten Sonic Boom, Blue Roadster, Prehistoric Hunter(whatever the red dinosaur Creator set is), a bunch of mini figs, Monster Hunters Werewolf set, and Grand Emporium. I have exercised self control and not bought more. Well, and I was broke for half the month.

June will be rough. I am probably finally going to snag a Dino set just for the dinos themselves, and maybe a few LOTR sets.

But YTD is crazy for me. I bought only one or two sets in the last twenty years (last one being the Technic Destroyer Droid), to this haul since January:
X-Wing, Y-Wing, TIE Fighter, Millenium Falcon (2011 version), Imperial Shuttle, Fire Brigade, Town Hall, Tower Bridge, Chopper Showdown, Captain America Cycle, Sonic Boom, Blue Roadster, Apple Tree House, Prehistoric Hunters, Werewolf, Grand Emporium, and a ton of minifigs.

Yeah...I need self control.

Just got it from shopforme at $145. Not the best deal but I wanted it now.

Amazon.es has it for 105 euro shipped to Australia so thats a pretty good deal.
