CUSOO Needs more original ideas (Western Town) and less licensed stuff (Shaun, MLP, etc). Or there will be these rejections, though I'm aware Shaun wasn't rejected due to licensing issues.

There is tons of original stuff on there, licensed creations just get more votes. My tumbler has about 3 times as many votes as my other 5 original works combined.

Yup. It's like people don't even read the terms or tips/suggestions on the website. I feel like too many people treat it like an MOCpages.com rather than what it's supposed to be.

My lego shipment came today with the dynamic duo funhouse escape, 4 series 7 minifigs, and the free hulk. I had a lot of fun building the funhouse, and it seems like it's gonna be a swell toy to play with when my mind wanders from whatever I am doing at my desk.

I got the punk rocker (yay), the bunny, (double yay), and two stuntmen ( disappointment ). It's so addictive need more figureessssss and legos... Gonna have to make a lego store pilgrimage soon.

Picked up this pink bin at Zellers for $10 - would have nabbed another but it was the last one (the previous year's bin has one of the older style, and uglier, minifigs). My daughter loves it.

The brick separator is really small, though. That or I just have massive hands...I remember my old grey one being much larger somehow.

I may go back tomorrow and see if they have one of the boy-themed bins with the tractor and the like. This one has a ton of great pieces - and lots of more modern shapes, too.

You are correct. The older grey or green ones were about a half inch longer and flared out towards the palm end. Much more substantial to hold.

I agree,
and its time to get the thread rolling again :)

I'll be posting a few pictures after work to do my part! I've decided to take the Excavator back and grab some sets to enhance my desire to design and build my own Techinc Supercars (similar to that sick Crowkillers creation I posted on the previous page).

I love how interests can change so quick with Lego, haha.

The three sets I have coming are Harry Potter (castle, hagrid's hut and Quidditch match). Probably not 'cool' to all you City and Plane builders :P

Where is my desert skiff!?!!

I need my Boba Fett minifig.

Amazon still hasn't stocked the monster sets. And I am hoping they stock the new SW sets asap as well. Sigh. How do they expect me to give them more money.

AWYEAH. Finished the T1 Camper the other night and as others have pointed out, it's a fantastic build. I was a bit "meh" initially, but once it starts coming together and resembling the swish Kombi that it is, everything becomes retrospectively awesome. I ended up powering through it in two somewhat draining nights, which was probably a bit excessive on my part and may have detracted from the fun of the build a tad, but I can't help myself sometimes.

One thing that I will point out as a drawback: STICKERS (and I usually don't mind them at all). The main culprits here are the stickers designed to go on the windows. You practically have to nail them first time, as they're super adhesive and due to their transparency, anything and everything will show through them, i.e. fingerprints and dust! Balls. Are a few printed window panels really too much to ask for here, Lego?

Yeah, the window stickers are brutal.

Still a great build, though--and one of the few pieces my wife doesn't mind having on the bookshelf in our living room. :)

yeah, i thought they were a bit OTT. Not really sure you need them at all in hindsight.

Yeah, I completely funked the back window stickers and couldn't care less. The front window sticker I applied slightly crooked, but not so much that you can notice it; it doesn't sit well with the little OCD man inside me, though.

This set is GREAT for the Lego OCDer, actually. I probably spent a good collective hour straightening each brick on the rear bumper. Curse stacked 1 x 1's!

Surely just pressing them down on the table and you're done, but I would mind them being wanky too.

Ha. Good tip there. I actually never even thought of using a flat surface. Idiot. Though, in defense of my reasonable intelligence, it's not always that simple. The fact that it curved around the side of the van and whatnot made it a bit more susceptible to shifting about.

Damn you for making me feel as daft as anything, Flix.

LEGO GAF should be renamed to
Bloody expensive GAF

Thank you (or not?!;)) amazon.it tip from someone last week.

Enjoy Tower Bridge. There are two ways to approach that beast. Just build one tower at a time, or build them both at the same time. I did both at the same time to make it feel less monotonous, but it did shave the time down.

And you will learn to hate the steps that use like 50+ cheese slopes. Then multiply that.
But the set looks magnificent once completed. Just a staggering display piece.

How well do you think it'd work as a 2-player build? Was thinking to let my son do half alongside me

It will be fine as long as you both go the same speed. And you can also let your son build all those beams with countless cheese slopes on them.

It is pretty much a 2x build until about two thirds of the way up the towers when you build the connecting bridges and it becomes one bigger piece.

Exchanged the Excavator...I was going to get the Supercar and the Flatbed Truck. Since my store had no Flatbed Trucks, I ended up grabbing 2 Supercars, haha. I'll do an A build, B build, and then combine for some MOC fun!

After exchange, VIP bonus, and coupon, it cost me $8 for the second car. Epic.

Like others here, I have not been able to get the Helm's Deep Collection (ie- Helm's Deep + Uruk-Hai Army) promotion to register properly in my online shopping cart. For some reason, it doesn't give double VIP points. So I just got off the phone with LEGO and the girl that I spoke to was extremely helpful and friendly. She quickly placed the order for me and reassured me that the double VIP points would show up in my account within the next few days. So I got the double VIP, free shipping, free mini-Sopwith, and she also threw in a Lord of the Rings poster! Many thanks to Kiara for her help! So others wanting to take advantage of this deal may want to try phoning in their order and talking directly to someone. Keep in mind that the double VIP promotion on this double set ends on June 15th according to my Canadian catalogue. Now to wait 7-10 days for delivery :-(

I'm going to ask Kiara on a date.

Got my Lego catalog in the mail today, but no 10% off coupon. No Lego store in the state, but with vacation coming up it would have been nice to have a coupon if I stopped by a store somewhere else.

And scored four new minifigs today. I also found the most random place to get figures: Five Below. It is a large thrift store thing where everything is $5 or less. I was waiting for my food to get ready for takeout and walked over to Five Below next door. They had about six series 7 boxes worth of figures, one still sealed. I did the bag fondling and successfully felt for the bride, the only series 7 figure I was missing. And sure enough, I found her! YAY! Series 7 is complete!

Then I went to the Toys R Us down the strip and got a few more series 6 figures. Got an extra Grey Alien (eh. Not mad but not happy.), the Sleepy Guy (YAY!) and Skater Girl (YAY!) So only one duplicate figure on my trip today. Not too bad.

Now if only I could find more places with series 6 figures. Newbury Comics has some series 4 figs, but they are charging $6 a figure. F-that noise.

whaaaaat? I hope I get my first catalog today. If they give me a coupon I'm going to take the train down to San Mateo and check out the LEGO store there for the first time :P

Is the double points thing for the LOTR Helm's Deep bundle applicable in-store, too? I really don't like waiting 10 days for items to arrive at my doorstep. I'd like to snatch it while I'm there, along with some minifigs. Otherwise... I'm sure I'll find something

You can have my coupon. Send me a PM or hit me up on twitter so I don't forget since it's at home.

This may be old news, but I thought it was funny.

It is something in almost all the new mini figs out there, but the fact that I noticed it first on the Hippie figure makes if funny. Remove the hair or helmet from a recent figure and look at the top of the figure head. It is hollow, but looks like a peace symbol in the middle.

I was wishing it was only on the hippie just for a laugh, but it is on lots of figs.

Any impressions from other Sopwith Camel builders here? I really think it's my favorite new model, it's right up there with the Millennium Falcon and VW van for me.

Finally got mine in the mail today, and yeah it's a fantastic build, I loved that in the first few steps it pretty much shows off the size of the wingspan and how it grew from there, my only complaint is that compared to my last few builds it was over too damn quickly.

Now I need to find a suitable sized Snoopy figure to go in it.

Yeah, I have seen some newer heads that still have the solid center and others with the tri-support. It's not quite a "peace" symbol since the three parts meet at the center. Not sure if there is any certain reasoning behind which heads do or do not have it. Maybe just depends on which machine was used for that batch in the factory.

Weird, I haven't had any solid heads since getting back into Lego about 5 years ago. I vaguely remember reading that the hollow design is to allow airflow in case a child gets one stuck in their windpipe.

Speaking of coupons . . .

Y'all should hit up Fred Meyer if you have one accessible. They currently have a 20% off Toys coupon that stacks with a 10% off General Merchandise coupon. (I'm not sure if they are supposed to stack, but the register lady took it upon herself to include the Gen Merch coupon when all I presented was the Toys coupon.)

Anyway, I just came home with the Lord of the Rings sets they had available:

Gandalf Arrives (MSRP $12.99) for $9.35
Shelob Attacks (MSRP $19.99) for $14.39
Attack on Weathertop (MSRP $59.99 - Gah! Piece/price ratio is terrible.) for $43.19

Would have picked up Mines of Moria, too, if I didn't already have it. (They didn't have Battle of Helm's Deep, Orc Forge, or Uruk-hai Army.)

I might go back tomorrow for some of the DC/Marvel Super Heroes sets. =)

So, I'm currently building the Fury Interceptor and holy shit at the wing construction. Seriously clever design here; up there with the X-Wing.
