hey guys, look what came in the mail 2 days ago :)

Well done! Now we just need these to arrive in NA.

I am still on my quest to find an affordable 10179 UCS Millennium Falcon out there somewhere. I saw one for under $1,000 that I let slip through my fingers...

Finished the Death Star last week. Love the set.

Had to order more Stormtroopers from bricklink, there's so much room in the death star...
Probably my favorite set. There's just SO MUCH to it!

I use it as a repository for most of my figs, recreating the scenes in each room.

You're going to want to get there early. At least an hour before they open. Maybe two hours before.
Thanks for the info. This weekend will be my first grand opening!

In fact here is a pic of most of my Lego backlog:

lego_backlog.jpg
Geeze, and I thought my dozen-set backlog was bad.

Anyone have one of the 10% off coupons they aren't using and don't mind parting with?

I totally forgot about that! The coupon along with my VIP credit will make the Vampyre Castle mine!

I didn't realise Lego batman 2 was out already. Any reviews out?

I tend to go through phases where I alternate my spending on games and then lego, I've pretty much been in Lego phase since February so gaming gets neglected. I still haven't finished mass effect 3.

IGN gave it an 8.5, basically it's awesome. Go buy it, I already did!

I am seriously thinking of getting the Death Star or ssd if I can snag a coupon. Use the coupon and VIP and I will save about $100

When do the 10% off coupons expire?

Australian LegoGAF, shopforme.com.au has a 'Blitzathon' on today with a bunch of specials every hour. First up is the Sopwith Camel for $110, which is a really good price considering its $100 in the US anyway.

Also the Target toy sale has the UCS R2D2 for $200.

Haha. Dude, I just completed possibly the fastest 'listing > sale' transaction in the history of mankind on the Sopwith. EXCITE!

I heard the Minecraft set has a pretty poor brick to price ratio? I don't even play MC but that set does look nice.

It comes in under the magic 1/$0.10 ratio. But it is worth knowing that the set is mostly tiny 1x1 plate and 1x1 flat pieces. It's a micro set. Actually good for getting a ton of small detail pieces.

I have a new all time favorite LEGO set.
the Minimodular is just spectacular, its great fun to build with lots of neat little ideas.
and it gives you loads of opportunity to attempt your own.

I built a bank for the street yesterday :) - a bit bland I know, but its my first attempt and grey is just the easiest colour to work with.

I'm loving the first floor of that bank, lots of great little details!

I too am a huge fan of the mini-modulars. After the Tested Bricked videos got me into LEGO again this was the first set I bought, likely the first set I had bought in around 10 years. I wanted something that was fun to build, didn't take up too much space, and looked good; Mini-Modulars was the best thing I found and I really love it.

It's also gotten me hooked on micro-scale sets. Something about making great looking sets with the absolute minimum size is really cool to me. Unfortunately, I need way more smaller pieces to make some of the MOCs I have in mind. With any luck the LEGO store opening near me this weekend will have a great selection on its Pick-a-brick wall.

Any of you who collect minifigs shouldn't buy the new Lego Batman. Because you'll get pissed off at how many of them don't exist in real life.

I don't disagree with what you're saying, but isn't that the case with ALL the lego video games? The original Batman had lots of characters that never made it to real life (Hush, Man-Bat, Mr. Freeze, all the various suits, etc.).

I was pondering this the other day w.r.t. the LoTR sets...I'm wondering...will there be a Gandalf the White? What about Elrond, or Saruman, Old Bilbo, The Witch King of Angmar (With Eowyn and his flying beast would be a completely bad ass set)?

So there is a chance for no Technic Ents? Nooooo.

:(

I was personally hoping for an oliphaunt with Haradrim riders...hell, they've already got turban and facemask headgear :(

Honestly, there's just too much lore to draw from to make LEGO sets...

Then they make some sets that make you go, really? Like the Orc Forge (which I have, but yet to build)...with Uruk-hai growth pit... why choose this particular "scene" from which to build a set?

I presume, if the first batch sells well we will see all of them.

Together with my other SW sets (too bad I don't have more room to display LEGO sets):

I really love that display there. Looks real nice and clean. I honestly never liked that Death Star set before because I think the inside being exposed as it is looks a bit off. But for some reason it just looks gorgeous in this image and setup. I might have to steal this idea here!

Really awesome job on that bank there! It fits right in!

Hmm, I wonder if the LEGO Store Set is scaled to fit in with the Mini Modulars set?

I don't have room for big sets but I love little minifig sets like this and Gandalf Arrives. Hopefully this comes to NA soon.

yeah I love most of the polybags, but i find it very weird that lego doesn't sell these EVERYWHERE! for example the friends polybags, i had to import them from america because you couldn't find them anywhere in germany! and right now all the polbags are selling for about 15eur a pop on ebay lol

that reminds me ... i should buy some more of the ghost+clock and make a shitload of money on ebay ;)

This might sound dumb but I bet I'm not the only one here who experiences this.

Let's talk about back problems, people! Whenever I'm doing long LEGO builds I always wind up with lower back pains, and I often have to take breaks to get up and walk around. I've had to abandon a couple of long all-day projects and pick them up again the next day.

Anyone else or just me? Maybe I'm just getting old. But if not I'd be interested to hear how other people situate themselves when building to mitigate this. LEGO POSTURE!

I have that problem if I sit on the couch and build on the coffee table. But I don't have issues if I use the dining room table. Think it is the leaning over more while on the couch while the dining room table is at a height where I don't have to stretch as much.

I sit at my computer desk (read: Lowe's folding table). The left half is for LEGO, the right half is my computer. Since I'm at a very comfortable height and posture, it ain't no thang.

But!

When I built my LEGO Dragon, I had pieces lying around my coffee table and my iPad opened next to me. I was in a very odd position and also had to take some walking breaks due to bending over in an odd way.

Well more or less maybe, but the minimodulars are 8 studs wide the shop is 10 wide

While at E3, the Warner Bros booth at E3 had some life-sized minifigs.
Lol, I like the expression life-sized minifig ;)

I build at a high table while standing, and I too sometimes have this after long build sessions.
Probably as stated above the leaning over alot.

Deadlifts! Back hyperextensions! Rows! More muscle = stronger back.
