Thought everyone would like this shirt: http://www.redbubble.com/people/rig...t&print_location=front&size=medium&style=mens

I got a Flight of the Conchords shirt from that site a couple years ago and I've been happy with it.

I have that shirt, but in a different kind of blue (to resemble the oldskool blue spaceman)

I thought I'd post this to see if any of you guys were interested..

I'm doing a bulk order of parts to build 10 Black Tumblers and 5 to paint and make Camo ones. I'm selling for $50 for a black one, $100 for the painted one, take $5 and $10 off respectively for GAF discount :)

PM if you're interested.

Goddamn Wetwired, that is a tempting offer. But my wife would absolutely kill me. But...so tempting.

Anyway, to contribut properly to this thread, my sister-in-law got me the Winter Village for my birthday!

Silly question: Can minifigs sit inside? If so, two or just one? Have a pic of the canopy open by chance? Have a pic with a minifig for size comparison?

Enjoy! Lasting Toys had a table at Brickfete this year. They had a LEGO model of their store made up and on display at the show. When we were there yesterday, I ended up getting the midi-scale star destroyer, a small Indy set (Ambush in Cairo), a City set that my daughter picked out herself, a Ninjago Nya figure with spinner for my daughter, two issues of Brick Journal (Steampunk issue and the Indy issue) and the new Desert Skiff! Couldn't resist the Desert Skiff because it was the first time I've seen it in stores here in Canada and the owner of the store was in the process of putting them on the shelves. Let us know what you think of the store.

I just looked it up, and it's 5 minutes from where I work. Amazing.

I bought a similar shirt off of CafePress, and I think that the logo looks a bit better.

The shirt is actually pretty good quality. I've washed it plenty of times with no ill effects.

Once again, more small-scale mecha stuff :)

Built a Gundam-style service gantry for the mecha I did last week, which also got some small changes:

Also built another mecha after doing a bit of parts inventory. The basic body construction is identical, but the details differ - this one is an artillery rocket platform:

Thanks for underselling this store. Seriously-I was not expecting what I saw. Can't believe it's 10 minutes from my house.

So many rare/imported polybags. And shelves filled with the Christmas sets! Amazing.

I went to the LEGO store during my lunch break and they finally got the Star Wars summer sets in stock. I picked up The Desert Skiff and the Spiderman set. I have 80 bucks in VIP points and will probably buy Jabba's Palace soon. The new minifigs are seriously awesome! I'll try to post some pics later today.

Man, that's pretty cool. Love the plow and the interior.

Lego needs to make white baseplates now. Please.

Anyways, wife has been out of town for nearly a week now, but she sent me pics of what she grabbed for me at the pick a brick wall at the Lego store where she was visiting. Nearly 100 8x1 white beams, perfect for making a nice large modular. :) She also got me nearly 100 red chairs, so I might finally do a theater MOC. That might make me put off the brewery, but a theater for how I am thinking would be at least two baseplates large to really work. Maybe 4 for what I am imagining. I just need enough beams to pull off a building that large.

Out of curiosity, I looked at the instructions for some Friends sets online. Mainly Olivia's House and Heartlake Vet. I might have to bite. Ignoring the pastel colors, those look like badass builds just because of the little details. So much cool stuff in them that kind of makes the modulars look bad with their interior details. Hell, one of them comes with dinette sets!

You just named 2 of the 3 that have piqued my interest lately (the third being City Park Cafe). I think I'm going to pick one of them (Olivia's House) up very soon.

And TLG seems to have a thing about not using baseplates in their sets lately. I want the return of the lunar plate!

Have you looked at the instructions? They look like awesome builds, and so many unique elements in them, such as dinette set pieces. Also some unique plant pieces too. At least that I have seen.

Paradisa was kinda like this too. Such a small line but their buildings put the rest of the Town theme to shame.

Not the instructions, but I looked at the element inventories for a few of them on Bricklink. Parts like those roses, dining & cooking utensils and doctor's tools would be great for all sorts of scenarios.

The doctor tools were a very nice touch, I will agree. Normally I only look at inventories for sets that I won't usually keep together, since I am just scrounging for parts. Looking at the instructions kinda takes the fun of discovery out, but I had to glance at the friends instructions because the inventories still weren't enough for me to bite. But seeing some of the stuff you make in them, such as the living room set in Olivia's House, or the bathroom complete with toilet and shower, have swayed me. Just really awesome attention to detail that makes a lot of other themes look bad.

Where Friends is at with interior details is where I would like to see the Creator houses (and even the modulars to a lesser extent) to be at in the future. Yes, I can build my own furniture - but the reason I am buying a retail set instead of just MOC'ing it all is because I want to experience whatever design madness that the LEGO pros can dream up.

My girlfriend loves the Friends house, so I might make that my purchase after the Grand Emporium.

I went on a Gandalf Arrives hunt today with my daughter - we came up empty handed. I've now checked every single store in and outside of the city that carries Lego short of one tiny little retailer downtown. We'll do them tomorrow.

I blasphemed, though. I picked up three Playmobil figurines, their version of Lego's minifig series. Growing up I had all the Lego and my sister had all of the Playmobil, and I played a bit with her stuff too. Their little figures are actually pretty neat, and weirdly they're less expensive than the Lego ones.

My local BNs always have a stack of the Gandalf sets. Shelob seems to be the hardest to find set around here.

Maybe Canada's just gotten screwed with shipments, then. I did see them a couple of months back at Walmart, but it seems they only ever got in one shipment as they disappeared the following week. And I'm not sure if Toys R Us ever had them - they have all the other Lord of the Rings sets so maybe they just sold out really quick.

None of the stores I checked today even carried the Lord of the Rings stuff, and most didn't even have the new Monster Hunter sets.

Only TRU and one Target here has any Monster Fighters stuff. It is annoying. Hopefully around Halloween more places get them and at regular price. The Target near home never has a good selection, and the one near work is hit or miss. Only TRU has a decent selection consistently, but their prices keep me away from many sets.

Oh, god. This winter village pic. That figure's face:

So all of the modular sets are "Hard to Find" on the LEGO Shop, which are the closest to going out of stock? May be able to buy one this week.

In order of disappearing:
fire brigade
Grand emporium
Pet shop
Town hall

Be warned, once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny.

Good, I wanted the fire brigade set the most anyway :P And I know, but I've been eying them up for some time. No current mini fig deals going on though :(

Found a store in HK selling Mini Modulars! They were sold out but I pre-ordered one from the next batch. A little too excited about this. I don't have space for the big modulars and love the look of the mini ones.

Disagree for creator houses, I'm fine for the focus to be on the external build. They're often too small fornlotsnofninternal detail anyway. And modulars are much better on internal detail now and easy enough to add your own tweaks.

Friends sets look great though. I bout the cafe for my daughter's birthday and that fits well at one end of our modular street. Olivias house is tempting but I already bought her 3 Dino sets which were on sale (triceratops trapper,t-Rex hunter and raptor chase). Olivia's house is even modular in construction so you can rearrange the layout.

These sets really are awesome. I've come full circle on them.

Check out that blender! I do think the kitchen is a little crammed, though.

The shower in Olivia's house is also pretty sweet. They really should have gone with white tiles instead of plates in my opinion, but it would have impeded playability.

The entirety of the Butterfly Beauty Salon is really well done. Tons of accessories and the cash register is pretty sweet.

That reminds me of one thing that I do not like about lots of the MOCs out there. Almost all the building MOCs have the entire interior floors covered in tiles, so there are no studs. Lots of the little details just seem to be resting on the flat surface instead of attached, and you cant lock down mini figs to make displays. The tiled, no stud look looks fantastic, but I like it more when you have the playability. Much like the bathroom you mentioned, or the official sets. I can set up scenes and pose characters everywhere.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around that one. Is this supposed to be LEGO's version of the N64 boy? What is up with his teeth? LOL - that face will be great to try with other minifigs.

That mini fig face is just crying to be added to the butcher mini fig body. Maybe add a bloody machete too.

I just found my local toy shop has a box of the Olympic Minifigures. I might get the box and sell the extra sets. Would anyone be interested from here before I head off to terrible Ebay?

Is it just me, or do the Eurobricks Forums kinda suck? Half the time you cannot connect for one reason or another, and it just seems to be dead. At least it appears that way when threads in the top 5 of a section dont have posts for several days. Maybe it is the incredibly spread out nature of the boards, but it just feels dead.

Seanbob, where would you be shipping from and how much $$$ are you looking for a set?

I'm in the UK, I think that's the only place you can buy them? I'll try and see if I can knock her down since I'd be buying the whole box. Obviously shipping from the UK but they're light and if you don't care about them being in the packet then even smaller. I'll try and work out prices soon.
