The LEGO Design video:

This looks like it could be my favourite set ever. The details are amazing and the cosy vibe is a great fit for the theme.

I'm not afraid to say HOLY SHIT:

eBay Space Police III Galactic Enforcer

I had NO idea that was so highly sought after. Humminahummina.

*Edit* - Apparently, you can get it for $90 new on BrickLink? What's going on?

Haha. Oh, man. I was going to say, there are plenty of those on Bricklink for very decent prices. And it's USED! I sincerely hope that he's accidentally added an extra zero to that price tag.

EDIT: So, I just noticed that it has 13 bids. Seriously; what the eff is going on here?! What is wrong with these people!? This hurts my brain so much.

Brickipedia says it's $100 or £90.

Damn good deal IMO, even if a lot of those pieces seem to be little tiles for the floor. I love little pieces so that's cool with me. :D

Thinking of getting two Technic sets. What combination would you guys suggest?

9398 Crawler + 8043 Excavator
9398 Crawler + 8110 Unimog
8110 Unimog + 8043 Excavator

The 9398 is very tempting because of the servo motor with the proportional control.
The 8043 is very tempting because of the linear actuators and the tracks. (The other sets are all wheel based).
The 8110 is very tempting because of the pneumatic functions and the large piece count in general.

The only other set I own is the 8070 and I am interesting in making it RC.

@PhoncipleBone - Is that 20% coupon available to everyone? Do you know if BN sell Technic sets in store?

I just buy all of them heh. In my opinion, I would go for the excavator(for the LAs, treads, 4 motors, 2 controllers, 2 IR receivers) and the Unimog(because of the amount of pieces you get and the rare pneumatic parts). You can always buy the 9398 in the future, while the excavation set might go out of production soon and the unimog the year after.

I am taking my time with them. I just finish my excavator after 3 months. Currently deciding which set I will tackle next. The Unimog looks really daunting at 2000+ pieces....

When Jamie talks about super fans, and the new elements (eg brick texture bricks, black lamp post), are Lego thinking people will order extras from their online pick-a-brick service? Or buy extra sets

Edit: selling a couple of big technics sets (8421 mobile crane and 8275 bulldozer) and my sopwith (just dont love it enough to keep and it'll go towards my haunted house fund)

I don't have any cool pictures, but for a great part of my life, i lived 14 kilometers from Lego and Legoland (in Denmark). Kids from my school where regularly invited out to Lego to test some of their new sets. Best thing about it was, that for all our trouble, we recieved some cool gift sets. When i was very young, i went there to try out some of the very very early Lego Mindstorm. It was basiccaly just some Lego car which could follow a black line on the floor, lol. For my contribution i got a Lego motorcycle and something else that i have forgot.

Oh, a bit more bragging, i got one of these laying around somewhere at my parents attic. I won it in some wierd milk contest :D

Good times :D

Many thanks for that, DodgerSan. I had an itch that needed scratching, so I went ahead and bought it, anyway. Ha. Around 50AUD shipped from Europe, IIRC.

I quite like the aesthetics of it; plus, I've got nothing "mech-y" and the fact that it stands vertically makes it a lot easier to store/display.

You're welcome :)

Though if you are in a mech-y mood, I can't recommend the Lex Luthor power armour set strongly enough. It's cheap, the mech is great, AND you get Lex, Superman and Wonder Woman. Awesome set.

I thought those lego pine trees weren't able to made anymore? the mould broke or something?

Never heard that one before, but one of the staples of the Winter Village series is getting a few of the 70's-style classic pine trees in each set - one of the things I love about it.

Now that you mention it though, I don't remember seeing the "ball" shaped classic fruit trees in modern sets - I'm going to have to go see if I can find one.

EDIT: Via Bricklink, the fruit tree is much less common, but has been in a handful of modern sets, mostly in the City line.

LOTR fans!

LEGO is going to be offering a preorder bonus for the LOTR videogame, in the form of an Elrond minifig. This offer should go live soonish in North America.

RD0S4.jpg

I've also heard rumor of Gandalf the White minifig, so we may be looking at retailer or version specific bonuses perhaps? I hope that is not the case.

I already preordered the game from Amazon...hope I can still get the bonus.

If this game is even close to Lego Batman 2 it's gonna be sooooo good. :)

Tempting offer. Europe too?

Eyes haven't cleared up from waking up yet but I swear that looks like a broom. Besides that, very interested but not a big fan of $60 dollar game pre-order's anymore... gah!

And man are those Minecraft set prices scary. I really should've picked up the Amazon price one when it was randomly in stock. My loss.

I was looking at the old sets today within $80 price range on Bricklink. So far I decided to purchase these sometime in the future:

7094 King's Castle Siege

4993 Cool Convertible

6253 Shipwreck Hideout

I need your input, LEGO-GAF!

Hi guys,

Looking to trade some team GB minifigs.

Need:
2x Tennis player
2x Swimmer
1x Rider
1xWeightlifter

Offer:
3x Relay Runner
2x Judoka
2x Boxer
1x Jymnast

If you pm me tonight I could send it from the UK while im still here!

if you have all 6 I am looking for I'm quite happy to part with all 8 of my multiples.
otherwise 1 for 1 seems fair to me.

Hit up the KC Lego store today. Man, I could spend soooooo much money there.

Employees were a bit reserved, and werent that helpful; could've been me, though.

Haul:

Wanted the Grand Emporium, but I will wait a bit on that. Figured I could get 2 houses out of the way for now. Will post my cup innards when I get home later. :)

That's why I decided not to buy anything during July despite having a voucher. I knew I wanted the Haunted House and my new annual tradition is to get the winter set.

Looks like they made it extra big after complaints that the post office was a bit small.

Finally found a copy.

One tiny toy store had a bunch in stock (at least a dozen, plus a handful of Uruk-hai Army). I have yet to see any Shelob sets here, though, even stores that carry everything else (like Toys R Us) don't seem to have that one.

It's a really fun little set, but unfortunately not very appropriate for my daughter due to all the loose pieces. She still loves the horse and cart, though it's not the same after you take out those neat little fireworks.

Just wanted to ad that I am close to picking up the 8110 Technic Unimog, the set is halfprice. Still close to $200 mind...

Working with a limited budget at the moment, but I had to scratch my Lego itch. I wanted to go for the Lex Luthor Power Armor set, but instead I went with the much smaller & cheaper Swamp Creature. The Gillman is by far my favorite Universal monster, so the minifig was the big attraction for me. Can't wait to put it together later tonight.

This will be my last mecha MOC post for a while, I swear! Jump pack + long-barrelled weapons:

Not totally thrilled with the light blue pieces that form the outer side of the lower leg, but they were all I had to work with, unfortunately.

Also picked this up:

Woo!

Those mechs are always awesome looking. They just look so fragile though. You should make a battle scene with them!

And on lunch I tried to go out and get a 48x48 baseplate for a new building (I need a lot of room for this one) and everyone is sold out. I see then everytime I am out, until I actually want to buy one. Grrrr.

Can't comment on the others but the cool convertible is one of my favourite creator sets.

Looks like Toys N Bricks got a copy of the September calendar already. There is a free zombie promo with 75$ purchase.

Awesome. I also received an email the other day stating Free Shipping for VIP members, through 9/31/12, with $75 purchase or more from Lego.com

Guess I'll wait until 9/1 to place an order for the free Zombie car.

Free shipping in sept? USA? I am so waiting to order anything then.

Free Shipping from NOW until 9/31. Hmm .... But it says "for select VIPs only". The fine print at the bottom says " offer valid for recipient of this email only".

Not sure what I did to be selected. I've only spent $350 with LEGO this year. The offer came in my VIP newsletter email on 8/1/12.

Hmmm... just checked my August newsletter from 8/1/12, and that offer is not on it. Congrats on getting the promo!
