Just went to another tru on lunch since I had great luck earlier, and no series 8 figs there. There was another guy there feeling series 5 and 6 bags that I chatted with. Anyone on here in Farmington Ct? I might have just talked to you.

DEAPOOL IS EN ROUTE, YO. I'm excited; maybe a bit too much, but I don't care. He is one suave bastard.

And he goes best with Hulk. Now that I have some series 8 figures, I need to update my Lego Deadpool Tumblr.

And for my series 8 haul today:
2 lederhosen guys
1 conquistador
1 football player
1 diving bell dude
1 cheerleader
1 Manbat
1 Santa Claus
1 Actor
1 Pirate

I grabbed 10 random bags and checked out. No feeling them up or anything. VERY lucky grab. I am now on set lockdown until I get the funds for Haunted House. Pet Shop should arrive Wednesday or Thursday, then it becomes time to save money. So no more series 8 for me for some time.

wow the jedi star fighter (my first Lego SW set) is a really neat looking ship and it might have gotten me down the slippery slope of other sw ships :( - sex wing anyone?!
its huge though, but really nice.

*screw you stickers btw... looks fine without them.

I would at least put the info plaque sticker on. It really adds to it.
Sex wing and TIE Fighter make awesome display pieces. Be warned. And of course Imperial Shuttle.

But the king of all sets is Death Star. Be very afraid.

na, screw that :p

I finally picked up the mines of moria today to go along with my shelob, gandalf arrives and weathertop that I got for my birthday at the start of the month. I can now finally do my LOTR frame with those RIBBA frames.

It's gonna be the fellowship and gollum. tempted to do an "evil" one as well but I dunno how that would look with a cave troll, 2x nazgul, 2x moria goblins and about 4 uruk hai, could be a bit dull.

wait for more bad guys, they will come.

The b-wing was on the cover of some star wars book I had as a kid and for some reason it hold great nostalgic value to me for that reason, I fracking love it!

I will have to find that book at the weekend when I'm at my parents...

Target had the new Old Republic Star Wars kits built up and on display, they actually look really cool! I though the the Fighter looked meh but in person it actually looks quite neat and really like the folding wing feature.

The Sith Fury Interceptor was also nice with it's wings opened.

Just got a Lego Minecraft set from Amazon, they had a few in stock over the weekend (OOS already :( ) and the box is so cool. Debating opening it up or not...it's already going for 70+ dollars on eBay.

Are they going to make any more of the set?

The B Wing looks great. I wish the X Wing came with a stand so I could lock the s-foils in attack position all the time.
I will post pics of the stand I made when I get home. :)

EDIT: And back home from work. I posted these pics a few months ago, but if anyone is looking for stands for the Sex Wing and Y-Wing, here is what I did.

It props the ships up, and gives them the appearance of flying around. Simple and easy to assemble, and rather stable. You can gleam most of what I did just by glancing at the pics. Clicking them will go to the full resolution ones to get a better idea. I tried making a similar stand for the TIE Fighter, but the huge wings make it very difficult to make it look like the ship is banking, and there is not much area for a stand to connect.

Love it! I already have the SeX Wing but your pics just sold me on the Y Wing as well. For some reason it was one of my favorite ships in the Rogue Leader games. It really sucks that its a TRU exclusive. Gonna wait for a really good deal through them or Lego.shop

Having them on the stands makes me never want to take them down. The angles make them really pop on display. Eventually I will figure out the TIE display. Of course, I haven't tried in months.

And as for the Y Wing, it is a fun build. Lots of detail achieved with minimal pieces. Also, that stand I made actually has shafts driving through the middle of the hull, so it isn't going anywhere.

Edit: urgh. Looking at the B Wing review finally, I am torn. I want Haunted House bad, and am saving for it. But the B(itchin) Wing is awesome. I can only get one, but this choice is tough. Urgh.

Have you gotten all the LOTR sets yet? Can scratch that Tolkien itch that way. :)

The problem is I just read the Hobbit (first time in about a decade I think) and I'm dead set on getting all of the main Hobbit characters. I just know they'll scatter all the other dwarves through about 4 or 5 sets with duplicates in each one. :(

I have the Shelob set which is great, but I have little interest in the rest of the current sets. I'd kill for a Balrog set, tree Ent battle, or either of the towers sets.

I loved all the sets, but the favorites were Gandalf Arrives and Weathertop. The latter is just so quaint and tidy to display.

I wants it, but must be strong for another month or so. Must save money for Haunted House and not get a bunch of other Monster Fighter sets instead. MUST BE STRONG!

Stopped at Toys R Us on my way home from work and picked up 5 series 7 and 5 series 8 blind bags, a Frodo, and a Harry Potter Forbidden Forest.

I only got one double (Female Skier) out of all those bags. I still want the Pirate, Shakesperian Actor, Female Skateboarder, and Evil Cowboy though.

Trade you a lederhosen dude for the skier.

EDIT: And current favorite mini fig out there is that Monster Fighter with the bowler hat, vest, and sword. Just a classy gent, but with a bionic leg. Like a boss.

EDIT 2: Making an early prediction here. I think the next Modular Building will have tons of those brick textured pieces that seem to be all the rage in sets lately. Random thought, but as I look at my LOTR sets and the upcoming Haunted House and Winter Cottage I think they will give us tons of them in the new Modular.

ugh, not too fond of those myself...

but the vampire castle looks neat :)

The Haunted House doesn't have too many brick textured pieces, does it? Here and there.

I think the Vampire Castle is destined to be incorporated into my Helm's Deep, which I'm still saving for a special occasion.

The Vampyre Castle is such a great set. My wife and daughter were both drooling over it the entire time I was building it...they are eager to demolish it so they can build it again!

Shhhhh! Quiet! I must be strong and only buy haunted house! I must be strong.
(looks back at all my own posts of me enabling others to spend their money. Goes and cries in corner.)

The giant pit trap tower, the spiral staircase, the traps at the entrance, the dungeon cell, the organ...I'm not big into playing with sets but I find myself fiddling with this castle constantly. Lots of ideas for how to incorporate it into my big castle moc, too.

pb

do it

If you don't like it you can make a modular castle and slot it in with your other mocs! That'd be an adorable diorama- different themed sets crammed together in modular sized packages. I would totally make that if I had money.

You're still resisting? I must have not posted enough photos.

The build is pretty bland IMO but the set is awesome.

I was down on the set until I looked at the instructions online. It looks AWESOME because of all the little touches. I will try to be strong. I think I can resist for a few weeks. Haunted House comes first. Vampyre Castle second. Sadly, most figures repeat between them and the other Monster Fighters sets except for the Manbats, but those are in the series 8 bags.

I have toyed with the notion of disassembling Helm's Deep to make a big stone fence around the Haunted House. The LDD stuff from Eurobricks that was posted in here made me think of doing that.

Go all-out. Fortifications in the stone fence. All of helms deep and vampire castle integrated into the walls as a gatehouse and such. Then the graveyard might have space to fit inside too. and the werewolf's tree in the backyard.
