Love that moc, mick! Excellent choice of background, too. I could definitely see him standing before a throng of fans, inquiring if they are ready for the rock.

For those who were buying tumblers here's some updates, still waiting on a few parts for the black ones but I have all the pieces for the camo ones and have been busy painting this weekend, the base tan coat is down. The next step is the painful task of masking and painting the brown bits.

Amazing work mate. Where can someone buy one of these? How much?

R2 is done and it was a great build. There are parts in there that are really clever. I do wonder though, the thrid leg really does not drop down as easily as it seems like it should and I have to pull it out mostly. I have taken it apart to double check but can't find anything wrong.

Any other R2 owners have this problem?

My wife though Snoopy needed a hat.

So I got 7 Series 8 minifigs while I was out. My wife opened 3, I opened 4. She got the DJ, Shakespeare, and the robot looking dude. I got 2 pirates, and 2 cowgirls :( I already had a cowgirl, that was one of the ones I could have done without entirely. (And yes, I know I could feel them up, but that's no fun heh)

Cheers for the feedback, mangs.

Also, massive veto on the dark red for the Haunted House, in my opinion; it just pops way too much. I think TLG actually nailed it with the green, but if you're wanting to mix it up, the sand blue and dark stone grey look fantastic, too.

I am a big fan of the blue HH if you were to "clean it up" and add it to a modular row or something. It doesn't look too spooky but the design is beautiful with that color.

That doesn't work on him, he cheats.

Well, then CRUCIATUS!

Also, to the people that got the 10% off coupon for Lego store: what is the expiration date? And is anyone not using theirs and maybe help a brother out if it expires at the end of October? That coupon would make the 90 minute drive to the store worth it.

You may want to think about going Black Friday weekend, even though it's insanely busy. They have exclusive soon to be OOP sets for 25% off, plus when you check out, you get a scratch-off card that gives you a 10%, 20%, or 50% discount on your entire transaction. I think the odds of getting the 50% discount are 1/100, and the guy who got one at my Lego store was allowed to go pick up more sets after he found out the discount (I only got 10% off). If anyone has the 10% off a set coupon from the catalog, I think you can stack it with the transaction discount.

I work retail, so I will be working black Friday anyways. And closest Lego store is 70 something miles away. Very cool knowledge though. Thanks.

When I first started getting the catalogs, they didn't include the 10% off coupon, even though I live less than 10 miles from a Lego store. I asked a manager at the store about it, and he scanned a 10% off coupon they had behind the register, so you could try that.

Last year if you ordered from the Lego website on Black Friday, it gave you an automatic 10% off the entire transaction, the same sets in the store were 25% off (here's a list of the sets that were on sale), plus free shipping, and a free Santa set. The only problem is that their site was getting hammered and it was hard to get an order in. I had an Imperial Flagship that was cancelled after I placed the order, because they had sold out (they still sent me the free Santa set though).

Interesting what others are saying about the different HH color mods. I actually like the brown and gray best and don't care for the red. But I know the dark red would look darker in real life and just looks bright because it's on the monitor.

The brown and black combo does not look good in real life. Too similar. The grey would look really cool, but I think the green or sand blue is the best.

Found the Series 8 minifigs at TRU today. Blind bought. Hoping for Santa, man bat and diver, but no luck. Football player and Conquistador are cool though.

Started on the new minifig packs. Last time, I wanted the space Marine and was feeling packages like mad and kept getting the wrong one. This time, I wanted at least one man-bat fig as my most wanted minifig and got two out of my first 3 packages! Yessss!

Now to go for Santa. Large sack eh?

I'm going to have to go to Glendale Galleria if I want some variety in the "create a minifig" sets as the Disneyland one tends to get very limited on torsos and heads fast. Last time I was in, 90 % of their head was a smiling guy with glasses. I cannot resist making my own minifigs and buying them every dang time I go there, but my options are getting limited.

Well I need to buy the StarWars advent calendar for the son of my mother's friend which is 50% of the £50 required for the zombie car. So so tempted by the haunted house but £150 is a lot and I also want to get this year's winter set before Christmas.

Decisions...

getlemen,

i'm going to make my first lego purchase in the last 28 years.
I'm buing the monster set minus the haunted house, planning to build'em up for halloween for the joy of my little baby girl, and then buy also the haunted house around christmas.

How long the sets are available and how come the boxes using express shipping?

thanks in advance and sorry for bad english.

bye

Hey Phoney, or anyone that has suggestions, I know you've mentioned this several times before... But I've finally started seriously sorting my LEGO, as the amount has quickly grown out of control, and I've seen you suggest some good containers at Target. Would you mind mentioning them, or posting links to them, again? Thanks!

Something like these. I use these when building big sets and when disassembling them. Just use one container for each bag when building. You still have to hunt down pieces, but it is smaller batches to search through.

For long term storage, I have these:

However, whenever I can get the room to get a cabinet or something I will move to drawers filled with the Target containers.

Agh, I wish I had money for Christmas presents squirreled away already. That's a great price for the riding camp, and so far I've only ever seen that at TRU anyway

Flix- a huge thanks to you for putting this together. I think you did a fantastic job of sorting the submissions & taking feedback from the crowd.

Awesome job.

Congrats to all the winners, and a good showing by everybody. Can't wait to pick up that dino set next week.

Question, if something is already eligible for double points on the LEGO websites, like one of those featured bundles, will it be quadruple points in October, or is it just the same regular double points?

Hillside House and Y-Wing are fantastic sets and well priced with that sale.

Bought these two. Got the free box thing too. Should be here sometime this week. Had my parents pick up the box of LEGO I posted previously, won't have it for another week or two, but well worth 15$ by the looks of it.

So I opened the two Series 7 packs I got from TRU for about a dollar each. Got female viking and Poseidon. Pretty nifty but I don't think I will be interested in getting more. I try to stay away from the blinbd-box/gacha type of items. I stayed away from the Kid Robot Futurama for the same reason as well.

I have a tackle box for some of mine, and a small case with itty bitty clear cases inside. Those work out great to keep some of the special pieces separated from the rest of the mess. :)

Garage Sale. :D

Hope this helps!

Funnily enough, I just finished sorting that lot right this minute. i use to sort by color, but I opted for piece type this time. I could use a few more different drawers to fine tune but I like this so far. These are the containers I got at Target. I spent about $75 this past weekend. They are also on sale in my Targets right now.
