I am all over these two in particular but I really like the planets series.

They are awesome. These series are even better than the previous ones. I might just buy them all.

And now I finally can own a B-Wing too :P

Edit: I just noticed they have the wrong droid in one of the pictures

The second one ought to be the correct one.

The pic with all the sets are prelims. LEGO sends out the initial retailer catalog with mock-ups so that retailers have an early approximation of what sets will look like, but details, colors, exact part types and mini figs change before actual production.

I wondered if anyone had any favourite small builds - sub-300 pieces, say - either official sets, their own builds or someone else's MOC. My daughter's really enjoying the smaller sets, but gets a bit bored with repetitive or awkward builds, and the sub-100 piece sets are a bit too straightforward and small for her.

Any ideas for fun, satisfying small builds?

I recently found the superman vs lex luthor set to be very satisfying, if that suits her interests. I buy very few legos and thus don't know what else to recommend right now.

Though I may make up for my infrequent purchases through sheer size if I crack and buy grand emporium :(

Should get the mini-modulars set. It's fun, and it's basically 5 separate sets.

The landspeeder is also a fun small set, if she enjoys Star Wars.

I'll ask her about the mini-modular set, but she loves the mini-fig aspect so I think she'd rather have the five full modulars... :-)

We've got a part-complete Landspeeder in her box of bits, so I might see if I can track down the missing pieces on Bricklink.

I'm beginning to look into storage units/organizers for my Legos. I have been using Tupperware for builds but I need to go thought my catalog from childhood that is still in storage and organize it. What would everyone recommend. I'm thinking something from lowes or Home Depot. Suggestions?

I asked the same a few pages back and got some great suggestions - have a look, and I'll dig out the link later.

I have a ton of these. It is good for an apartment because I can stack them and move them easily. If I had room I would get drawers. But these are nice and have adjustable sized pockets.

Lowes carries them. I also got some of the smaller ones for tile pieces or random odd types of bricks.

welp, the rumors of GE going OOP were enough to get me to jump on it... now I just need to keep a careful eye on Fire Brigade stock, because if I made the wrong bet I'll be super bummed.

That being said, GE looks super awesome.

Yup that's what I use too. Not the exact same ones but similar. Great for stacking.

I have mine separated by colour per container then sort by type for each compartment. One trick I used to tell them apart without looking inside was to get some paint samples from a hardware store that match the colours inside and the stick them to the sides so I can tell what's what by a glance.

I third this choice.
I only have two of them right now though. Mine have a clasp on the sides so that when stacked they can lock together, makes it possible to carry a few of them by holding just one handle. Very useful.

Though I think I need to just get a few larger bins to store larger bricks in, otherwise I would need to get a lot more of the SortMasters to hold everything.

The juniors have the clasps to hold multiple bins together. The big boys don't. I just keep the random stuff like plants and tiles in the small ones, and use the pile of other sort masters for other bricks. Baseplates are kept on a shelf. Usually loaded with figures. :)

what parts are that, and what did you have to do to get them?
are they not in the regular PAB?
It was this part:

This is not in the regular PAB section of the LEGO website. When I was putting together the B-wing recently, I noticed that there were 4 of these pieces in the set. So I just thought, what the heck, I've got nothing to lose, so I just phoned up LEGO and asked if I could special-order a bunch of these pieces since they obviously have some in stock. The lady who helped me said that she would have to get approval for the purchase which took a couple of days, but she came through for me! So if you ever come across any ridiculously priced pieces on Bricklink, you should check with LEGO first to see if they can special-order some for you at their normal prices.

Yeah the smallest items go in those trays and as soon as they star filling they either go in another tray or the larger pieces go in a tub.

Just noticed that both SWTOR sets (#9497 Republic Striker-class Starfighter & #9500 Sith Fury-class Interceptor) are missing from the Holiday 2012 catalog.

Get 'em while they're hot.

The new Lego Star Wars cartoon has just aired here in NZ and it's pretty funny. They managed to take the piss out of the expanded universe in some quite hilarious ways and also landed some not so subtle digs at Lucas along the way. If nothing else, my boys love even more than the first one (Padawan Menace).

The boys picked their first Monster Fighters kit today, 9463 Werewolf and we made it this afternoon while the weather was crappy. I'm super impressed with the kit in general (it helps that it has a pretty low price-per-piece) and both the vehicle and surprise-attack-tree are great builds (seriously, the car rocks though). My kids are arguing over who gets to keep the Werewolf in their bedroom tonight, the glow-in-the-dark claws are a big hit.

Mrs K is now eyeing up the Vampire Castle and I'm doing what I can to encourage it!

Yep, I did this when bricklinking the cafe corner. The red roof slopes were very expensive on bricklink, but they'd recently resurface in a new lego set, so I ordered a bunch from PaB.

Will there be new Castle sets coming up or will Lord of the Rings fill that niche? I just looked through some of the sets I missed while I was out of the Lego game and ouch... it hurts. There was some cool stuff.

A winner is you!

Really enjoying the build so far. I don't recall ever having to put parts on only to take them off later on as they were just support parts.

I'm trying to pace myself with this one, I'll do up to the body tonight and then next build window is Wednesday evening when I can finish it off.

Did you ever finish that starfighter?
