Does anyone have the Ninjago fire temple? Curious about the 'oriental' style pieces for MOCs, and the dragon looks cool. It's often discounted on amazon.

Edit: or helms deep for about the same price (£69)? Don't care about lord of the rings, but it just looks like a cool castle set

US Lego GAF may not get the cool promos like free figs with the daily paper, but we at least get the best prices on stuff.

Sorry for the burn...I should head to bed.

Just come back from the lego store. Picked up haunted house and Pudsey bear (children in need charity mascot). Both are hiding in my car until I think it's safe to bring them in.

Is it wrong that I want to buy and build that, even with four large sets still to build? Seems perfectly normal to me ;)

edit: here is pudsey

It's fine. I told my wife that I wouldn't buy anymore Lego until next year following my trip to the Lego store. The next week I started buying Cafe Corner piece by piece. The first shipment is in the mail now. Trying to figure out how to sneak it into the house....

Ha, I read that as Pussey Bear at first.

Similar situation here. Just bought B-wing and 4x4 in quick succession and now I have the Imperial Shuttle coming to my work from Amazon.it.

ah, bricklink. Well one solution with smaller sets or bricklink orders is to get them delivered to work, then bring the pieces home but not the boxes/bags. Then just drop them in a container near your other lego. She'll never notice

I did this with some SW battle sets - I wanted some snow troopers and scout troopers.

I'm gonna try to exchange my Ewok Attack for credit to buy Desert Skiff, hope they let me! :)

Well when I got there, no more Skiffs left...and my second choice, Droid Escape, was gone too. I'm not interested in the other SW sets or they're too expensive. Yesterday was the last day of the sale too (I'm in Canada). Is the Skiff worth $29.99 CAD? It's really the only SW set I've found interesting enough to buy, looks like a neat display set.

So Walmart has this set, 4204:

in an ad for $39.99. It retails for $99.99 at the Lego Store.

Some people think it may have been a mistake, but it is in their system at that price and has been ringing up at that for a couple of days now. I picked one up tonight and they rang it up no problem.

So that's one Christmas present for my son knocked out. :)

For people who's Walmart are sold out, bring the ad to customer service and ask for a raincheck. The raincheck policy is on the bottom of the back page if you have any issues.

This isn't an error cause the website had the same price before it sold out:

I went into WalMart this morning to reserve a Wii U, and there was one of the mine playsets in the return cart. Grabbed that bad boy out for $39.99 and got my pre-order Wii U.

So the free Lego in the Sun (UK) promotion starts now!

Also going to the Lego store to buy the Winter Set tomorrow. Had a bit of a scare when I couldn't find my £5 off voucher today.

Just made a ~£50 order on Bricklink for the first batch of parts for the diorama for my daughter's Christmas. Lots of green, tan, grey and brown plates, bricks and slopes for the landscaping, and some plant bits and bobs, and a baseplate or two. Enough to get going and do the bulk of the build, hopefully, but the finishing pieces and plant stuff looks like it could be another £40-50 as they tend to be a lot pricier.

Anyone got any tips on best places to buy dirt-cheap (any colour) bricks to use as supports etc. for different levels? Condition doesn't matter, nor does colour (as they'll be hidden beneath the ground) but cheap and plentiful would be great. eBay seems a bit of a crapshoot, and Bricklink prices are a bit higher than I want to spend, even used. Would carboot sales, or local buy/sell sites be my best option?

I just bought my first Lego in 15 years.
It's only a little boat from the Lego city line, but still.
Feels good man

I'm going to prognosticate and answer the questions you will be asking in a month:

Grand Emporium first, then the Fire Brigade.

Stanley Sortmasters are great. Sort by type not color.

Sure we can give you hints on how to sneak it in the house past your significant other.

Yes, those TRU sales are deceiving.

Yes, you need to buy the SSD and Death Star... It is your destiny.

About the bolded: But some things it is good to separate the color out. For the cheese slope pieces I have a pocket for all the tan ones from Tower Bridge, then another pocket for every other color. Otherwise it would be digging through a sea of tan for a while brick.

Also add: Yes, some Star Wars sets are overpriced.

Yes, people on here will trade mini figs with you to help complete their collections and yours.

If you hear about big sales, jump immediately because it takes little to no time for items to disappear.

...aaaand with a slight adjustment I think we're on the mark.

After spending some time with the Monster Fighters sets I'm still amazed at the markup on SW. I'm ok with the price of some of the smaller ones ($25 for 9496 including the awesome minifigs, or $15 for 7913 for the same reason), but when the sets are more than $40 you begin to get seriously gouged.

$150 for a 700 piece Jabba's Palace obviously takes the cake...but $120 for sterile 700 Echo Base set? Ridiculous.

I'm a hypocrite though. I love the X-Wing & Tie Fighter...and I'm seriously debating buying the Death Star instead of an iPad 4.

X-Wing is pretty fairly priced at $60. In fact, Wal Mart marked it down to $50 the other day.

R2D2 is $180 for over 2000 pieces. Under the magic mark.

A good number of Star Wars sets are fairly priced, if just barely above the $.10 a brick mark. But, there are many (like your examples) that are robbery at their prices.

Anyone know where to pick up Haunted House other than lego store for a little cheaper?

I would love to get this but haven't found it on sale anywhere!
It takes like 3 months after release to become available at online retailers. Probably December is when you'll see it on Amazon.

Got and built the Winter Cottage today. Really nice set. Will post a picture tomorrow since it's midnight now.

Bought a bunch of series 8 figs, and got my first miss. I got the cheerleader instead of Santa (her head and hair were together in the bag, making it feel like the toybag.

So I got...

Vampire Bat
Actor
Conquistador
German guy
Businessman
Pirate
Evil Robot
Alien Queen
Cheerleader

Need to get Santa at some point, maybe deep sea diver too.

Built 10199 Winter Village Toy Shop today. Pretty hard to come by nowadays, but I got one for €65. Cool build and nice display. I also have Bakery and Post Office to build (both not hard to find at a discount), which will all go nicely together (I should find some white baseplates). Holding off on Winter Cottage until it's available at cheaper etailers.
