I'd like to do a full blown run through with all the DLC installed. I'm just lost on who I'd romance though!I would buy a Mass Effect Collection for ps4 without a blink, even though i already finished the 3 games.
I think im having withdraw symptons by not playing Mass Effect for so long.
Plus just like in ME1 on 360 having the ability to turn off specific post-processing effects would be awesome. That was the first thing I did, was to turn off Film Grain and Motion Blur, which really surprised me considering you could actually do that on console.
Couple more things I just thought of:
Do some extra mo-cap to fix Femshep's "man walk."
.
2.c) Mac Walters mentioned the theme of "Organics and Synthetics" in today's stream.
The thing I'd love to hear from people is what you'd like to have in such an experience. For me (personal opinion, and based on what people have told me many times before):
- 1080p
- 60 fps
- High res textures, especially on ME1
- Some shader improvements commensurate with newer GPUs
- All the DLC
- "Seamless experience" - the adventures flow into each other without having to go back to save import, menu screens, etc.
Agree / disagree? What else?
Bear in mind this is a "wish list" at this point...
Squadmate control was originally in the game (just like in Kotor on the original Xbox), but they took it out.I'm not sure how feasible this is but something I always thought would be really fun in Mass Effect is
- Drop-in/dDrop-out CoOp
- Squadmate control options
Having a friend take control of a squad mate online would be an absolute blast. Hell Id love to play as some of the characters myself too (Grunt, Thane, Wrex, Samara, Legion). Not sure how possible it'd be to implement but adding a system similar to that of Dragon Age: Inquisition where the player can directly control any party member in combat would certainly add a lot to the games replayability!

Oh cool I never knew that. Wonder how hard it would be to reincorporate it for a remastered trilogy. Did they ever say why they removed it? I've always wondered why it wasn't there since its a staple of pretty much every other party based Bioware RPG.
ME1 changed a lot during development, I made a thread on it a while back (/ShamelessSelfPromotion). I'm not sure why they changed it, I've heard it was because they wanted to focus on Shepard, but that has always sounded like a fake excuse to me. I wouldn't expect it to implemented in any port, ME1 played pretty differently back then. They didn't even have the power wheel in until pretty late in development.Oh cool I never knew that. I think it was simply time and money. Co-op play does make sense for this game. You could see both as story mode and competitive mode where you have leader boards for how fast or accomplishments doing parts of the game. I don't think I would use it but I am sure others would like it.

Think I'd rather have them go back to the dark energy issue and finish that train of thought...
I think you may have misheard what he said? He wasn't referencing that being the focal point (or even a theme) in the new game. He was commenting that as a team they've tackled "big ideas, really big ideas" like in the "original trilogy whether it was organics vs synthetics", all his words. He was just looking back to the past...2.c) Mac Walters mentioned the theme of "Organics and Synthetics" in today's stream. It sent a breeze of cold air over my body. Did he not pick up ANY crisitism of ME3's ending at all? If ME4's main focus is that conflict, fine... just don't revert it in the final 10 minutes of the story for some meaningless artistic statement that doesn't really connect to anything in reality, and then needlessly sacrifice our protagonist for a cause he was never fighting for.

I would very much love a "Remaster" of the Mass Effect games as I completely played through 1 and 2 and still have a perfect save that I never got to play through 3 with. The thing I'd love to hear from people is what you'd like to have in such an experience. Voice controls from 3 across all titles:- The Kinect integration in 3 was a nice little added bonus. Though I would imagine this wouldn't be that viable on PS4 or PC.
Why (in regards to PS4)?
Tomb Raider: DE on both XB1 and PS4 has voice commands. The PS Camera works just as well as a mic as the Kinect does.
Oh and awesome thread btw. Really fascinating stuff. The Galaxy map in particular is pretty amazing. Wish they hadn't changed it so much for release. Thanks for the link!
Thanks! Interesting thing about the galaxy map: A BioWare dev told me that it was actually faked. That would explain how they went from something so grand to what we have today.
Some more random facts:
We only got half the amount of planned UNC worlds.
ME1 was supposed to come out within the launch window of the 360. Considering how much it changed from the E3 2006/X06 videos, you have to wonder what went on in the development cycle. Would have been interesting to see how things would have played out if it did release in 2006, BioWare would have started work on the sequel before EA bought them.
Very, that would be awesome if you could share!I have prototype/cut content footage of ME1-3, are you interested?
Who wouldn't be interested in that?I have prototype/cut content footage of ME1-3, are you interested?

Alright, here's my (semi-)realistic wish list for a trilogy port.
General
- Resolution/Frame rate improvements
- Unified Menu like in Master Chief Collection
- All DLC (excluding Pinnacle Station for obvious reasons)
- Universal Codex (a codex that is on the main menu and includes every entry from the series)
- Choice Editor (For people who want to jump ahead, or replay a game differently. They had the comics for PS3 and Wii U owners, but those weren't very robust)
- "Seamless experience" - the adventures flow into each other without having to go back to save import, menu screens, etc." Maybe have the credit sequence at the end of ME3 instead of one after each game? Would be one long list with everyone from BioWare, EA, Microsoft, Demigure, Edge of Reality, and anyone else who worked on the series.
- Extras, like a concept art gallery
ME1
- Change the achievements. ME1 did a cool thing where you could unlock bonus powers, stat boosts, and Xbox Live gamer pics by unlocking the achievements, but the majority of them took forever to unlock, and had vague terms ("Playthrough the majority of the game using this squadmate")
- Alter the control layout. You press X or tap RT to draw your weapon, press B to holster it, and you have to press the Back button to throw a grenade. You know something's wrong when you're using the Back button for combat. Why not have put both holster and draw on B, and grenade on X?
- More save slots. ME1 only let you have 10.
- Add back the ability to sprint outside of combat. This used to be in the game, but for some reason they removed it. Holding down A outside of combat will just make the camera go closer.
- A new inventory UI, or at least make some fixes to the old one.
- Quest indicators on the galaxy map.
ME2
- When you don't have a weapon out, the camera should be zoomed out a bit more. This applies to ME3 too.
- Faster mineral scanning.
- Include all pre-order/Dr.Pepper weapons and armor
ME3
- Fix the journal. It was fine in ME1 and 2; I don't even know why they changed it in the first place.
- Let us holster. It was removed due to console memory limitations (sounds like the PS3 in particular), but that shouldn't be a problem now.
- Add an option for film grain.
For those of you that exclusively own the series on PC I have to question why yall would even care if the series got rereleased since you already have 1080p/60fps and can easily have all the DLC? I mean from where im sitting if I had all that, Bioware would have to offer a pretty decent amount of stuff in addition to what is already available and that would, likely go well beyond the scope of the project. The only thing that seems to be missing from the PC version is gamepad support and I'd consider it a huge slap in the face if you had to buy the remastered trilogy to pay for that privilege.
To me the goal of the remaster/redux would be to give PS4/X1 owners a chance to play it and that it's there for PC players since you guys already have everything needed to play the entire trilogy.
It's not the same as the Deus Ex DC where the boss fights would be redone and the DLC integrated into the main game. ME trilogy already has that.
Not all DLC were easily available last I checked since some things were random exclusive stuff. For those of you that exclusively own the series on PC I have to question why yall would even care if the series got rereleased since you already have 1080p/60fps and can easily have all the DLC?
