Does death rap count as a sub genre? haha

I swear to god this will never be on my playlist! 😂. Getting the idea of trying mixing two genres and trying to get something out of it, but this sound bad. Anthrax Bring the Noise cannot be topped!

Comments turned off lmaoooooooooooo and lmaooooooooooooooo those """"""""""""""""""""""'vocals"""""""""""""""""

Dude that is fucking insanley awful 😂😂😂 what the fuck? Damn that's too funny.

Here is some new death metal with some old school sound to it. It's damn good.

Oh my god I've just discovered Sleep Token.

That ending is straight out of new DOOM (the videogame).

And Blood Sport simply had my mouth agape when the guitars kicked in.

From Cliff Burton's pre-Metallica band. It features Jim Martin from Faith No More on Guitar. To me, it sounds like a heavy Atom Heart Mother Pink Floyd.

Probably not for everyone but I really dug this studio performance from the Darko guys. Also check a look at this guy's crazy left upside down strings guitar playingz!

Shadow of Intent is so damn good live. Entheos is in there. Shout-out to old Animosity with a chick singer now. I just like them and they put on a good show. I fuckin loved Animosity. Miss em.

Fucking banger!

Something different that I've been digging:

These guys covered the whole of Death's Symbolic but turned it into synthwave. It sounds like a lost John Carpenter soundtrack.

I've got really into Anaal Nathrakh lately. They're an extreme death/black metal band, but don't just rely on being BROOOTAL like so many bands. Their songwritings killer, loads of catchy riffs and choruses amongst the brutaility.

This album in particular I find to be perfect throughout:

Cannibal Corpse's most recent album is fucken good too. The production and beastly riffs make something special. The deluxe edition also has a bunch of really fun covers

An old but gold counterpoint, from the Baroque era, metal. I think you kids call this melodic metal nowadays, maybe... :messenger_sunglasses:

Good taste dude! You may know already but AN just released a new album.

Amaranthe just dropped their new album. I love this band. They combine dance/pop with metal in an awesomely fun way, and their songs are always insanely well written. And the vocalists are world class

Here's a fun song off the new record. It's got weird rap/dubstep bits, and the bit at 2:37 is funny AF

Thx man! ya the new one is amazing. Way more focussed than the previous two, it's up there with their best imo

Started listening to Carpathian Forest again for the first time in years. Always dug their "don't give a shit" attitude but I forgot just how punk they sounded at times. So sick.

Ok this is a strange question but...
I'm pretty excited for Demon's Souls and the art style looks pretty metal.

Any bands, albums or tracks that Metal GAF would recommend for a Demon's Souls inspired playlist?

Sorry I appreciate it's a random question that's massively open to interpretation but I searched on Spotify and couldn't really find anything.

Joke post or not, there's Chillswitch Engage who makes piano covers of Killswitch Engage, which I find really, really nice to listen to sometimes.

Getting back to metal

I'd go for some 90s black metal, it's all heavily laden with LOTR references and inspiration which is sort of where demons souls draws its aesthetic from. It may be hard to get into at first but it's worth it and rewarding (like Souls games)

Top pick

some songs

for something more modern try these guys

Let me go Jerry Seinfield here for a minute and say.. What's the deal with these death metal bands and their increasingly illegible logos?

Some old school tunes for ya:

They're a German band who put out an album last month! Going to have a listen to it this evening.

Next album sounded way different. I didn't like it much initially. Listening to it many years later I enjoy it much much more.
