The Most Underrated Game of 2025

I'll throw in AI Limit. The game had a slow start thanks to releasing the same day as Khazan, which took a lot of attention away. But word slowly got around and it currently has better user reviews than Khazan. It's one of my favorite in the genre.
when the game came out i saw a thread on /v/ with video clips of games and funny file names and one of them was a clip from AI Limit that showed a enemy with REALLY dumb ai and the name of the file was AI-Limit.webm

This one looks overlooked, Pioneers of Pagonia.

I think it captures the great feeling of exploration and discovery that al ot of Souls likes fail at (or dont focus on). It's one of my favorite in the genre.

I still need to play this. I've heard really, really good things about it.

Supposedly a DLC expansion is going to release soon. I will probably wait until then to play.

Atomfall. Full of emergent gameplay, unique AI and a great sense of exploration and adventure. Totally lost in the sauce somehow. It'll be a cult classic 5 years later. Play it now so you can say you liked it before it was cool. This is guaranteed btw. Play it totally blind with no guides if you can. At least for your first playthrough.

is it a good single player game ? my wife dont game, my daughter is 3yo and my friends are mostly dudebros
Yeah sure, I played solo and had a lot of fun for like 80 hours. Then I reached the endgame and uninstalled for my own good lol.

Even if it was labeled by the developers themselves as a ''yoyovania'', I felt it was structured much closer to Zelda than Metroid.

Anyway, fantastic game!!!

I played until i found the first upgrade (the triangle button) and great so far, cant wait to discover the different upgrades to the yoyo and get to new areas to explore.

It's Hell is Us. No question. One of the best games of the year.

Such a great looking game too:

damn i need to get this on a sale..i loved the Demo but then Cronos came out, then Yotei and then Stalker 2 and i was busy with those games back to back and forgot about it abit.

I don't get the praise Atomfall is getting in some posts. I've finished it and for me it was only decent. It gave me some cool (British) Stalker vibes, but the main maps are too small and I absolutely hate games with respawning enemies, especially if it happens too often or too quickly. The main story was also quite forgettable (and lacking cutscenes to make following it more exciting), if I am going to remember something it's going to be more related to visiting cool places.

So in the end it's like with many other Game Pass titles - you consume content, but often it doesn't feel special and you probably won't remember much of it in a few years.

Good thing when I finally play it it'll be because I bought it and I wont be renting it
